<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Klm751</b></div><div>How is it not worthwhile to get a great prospect and probably a high first for a one year rental? Plus another pick, what’s your value of one year of kreider?</div></div>
I must be missing the great prospect...all i see is 3 spare parts and 2 picks for Kreider and Strome. With that said, I would do Kreider for the 2020 Edmonton first and maybe a conditional 3rd or something like that if he resigns.

NYR trades w Tor and Fla
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>danzhock10</b></div><div>Inconsistency in Kreider based upon what? This was a mostly healthy season from Kreider..the first since '15-'16. How does 28 goals on a rebuilding team equate to inconsistency? Gorton doesn't have to worry about Kreider, based on the seasons he's put together. I'm sorry, but it will be on Gorton to decide to re-sign him..not the other way around.
As for Panarin, I read that similar interview, and even if he has the Rangers and Hawks in mind, don't think for one second his agent isn't in his ear regarding Florida and playing for his old coach. They can just as easily move Dadanov and open the cap space up to make as much of an offer as possible for Panarin to join the Panthers. Do not underestimate GM Dave Tallon; as crafty as he was at getting Hoffman and moving Bjugstad, he can ship out more and sure up a Panarin grab to play alongside Barkov.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LoganOllivier</b></div><div>He'd be a big upgrade down centre ice, its not a bad idea to have a vet to help your young guys get over the hump. He'd be a temporary upgrade but not a long term one. Rangers are in the long game now. Considering Kadris suspension history i still wouldn't do it tho

I agree. In taking on Smith's salary, you would give up Strome (or even Vesey) without any extra compensation. Vancouver keeps the 2nd, and I would still love this deal as a Ranger fan.

Boyle and McQuaid
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>AJC13</b></div><div>I believe it's a fair trade for McQuaid from a NYR point of view. But... With the difference in play of Skjei paired with McQuaid compared to any of the other Right-D on the team. I believe NYR might start considering resigning McQuaid.</div></div>
I believe that would be a very bad move. IMO they need to acquire younger players and more picks even if McQ and Skjei are working well together right now. Signing him will cost us a 7th pick as well. As for the trade I think Pollock will be pretty irrelevant for us to take. If possible we would rather settle on a 3rd round pick to move up from the 4th we lost in acquiring him.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>danzhock10</b></div><div>Though some of your point is accurate, the only issue I'd take with your reasoning is that the Rangers need Skjei to grow in his game further. If the Rangers do not build Skjei up, they will find themselves with a much bigger problem long-term. McQuaid is the example of the player the Rangers need to place with Skjei with, if it's their intent to build around him on defense. Those are a lot of years to deal, even for a 25 year-old. They need to get this one right; and if it MAY mean adding a season to McQuaid to make it so, it can be with it as the youth coming up isn't ready just yet, outside of Lindgren.
Players like Gilmour, O'Gara and Bigras are not the future of the franchise. Hajek, Miller, Lundqkist, Keane..they represent the future of the franchise on defense. But they will ALL need time to get here.</div></div>
I agree with you as well with trading McQuaid, but it does not seem in the rumor mill that NYR will receive anything more than a 3rd round pick or a 4th round pick & a C+ prospect. So unless the return in trade is greater than that, probably pays to resign McQuaid, even if for two years.
FYI... I checked the Bruins page on this site few days ago and it finally" has the details of the conditional 7th round pick. If McQuai plays 25 games for NYR or is traded during the season, BOS receives NYR 2019 7th round pick.

this is an amazing stat
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>danzhock10</b></div><div>Hard to gauge how to play a guy when you don't know what kind of system to play...those 30 games were coached by two different people; a lack of consistency in the roster has been the ONLY thing coinciding with the record.
Saying that, if you're watching (I can only assume), the new system is starting to look like it is taking hold. The Rangers look quicker and more decisive (two words I had a hard time aligning with this team); the 21 wins this season is the product of transitioning from cycling the puck to better shooting positions up front, while getting defensemen into better defensive positioning and reading forecheck better..all the while, allowing goaltending to stabilize.
Like the song says, it took a whole lot of climbing, just to get up that hill. Equally, DeAngelo has been part of the ascension. "You have to see growth to identify it.", the late Herb Brooks once said. When you've seen the growth of DeAngelo, Chytil and Nieves (as of late) with a clear reboot of Zibanejad, that growth is apparent.
Thus, feeding into the CapFriendly proposal machine constant trades IS the crap shoot it seems like.</div></div>
it's the 30 games this year.. i'm not counting last year.. but good analysis

KreiderChiarelli
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>danzhock10</b></div><div>I'll take these one at a time:
If Fox wants to be a Ranger, he can refuse to sign a contract with Carolina, wait for the end of the off-season, and sign with the Rangers without compensation conflict. Trading Mats Zuccarello to a team who doesn't need his skill set, MAY only get you the draft pick (and I think you'd like to see him be more than a salary dump, if possible).
After October, I passed on the idea of trading Hayes to Winnipeg. They are a first-place team, with very few holes; everybody beat the dead horse idea of Winnipeg needing a second line center well beyond the typically accepted 8 feet under. Saying that, there are deals that Hayes and others can attract..that being IF Gorton wants to even move him at all.
While I would love to see Connor on the Rangers, I just can't see it happening in your Hayes' deal, without more being involved.
As for Chiarelli, I will not dispute his past transgressions; he only has one of the following two moves in his chess game: trading Draisatil for some depth, or trading McDavid for lots of depth and deciding that Draisatil is the option to build the team with.
Let's face it, EITHER move will be his last. But, let's not let him have his death sentence be served over Chris Kreider and Jesper Fast.</div></div>
Totally fair. Yeah I didn’t mean both Connor and Vesalainen one or the other. I honestly am not totally sure in value but just know that if Duchene does re-sign Hayes value should go up as one of if not the top center on the trade market.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>danzhock10</b></div><div>If Jeff Gorton has plans to deal, Chris Kreider isn't part of those plans. As I've said to others on this site, his and David Quinn's vision is to set up his lines as follows:
Power forward left wing-Two-way Center-Playmaking right wing (think Kreider-Chytil-Zibanejad, as an example)
Kreider is the model is the left wings Quinn has won with at BU (the Tkachuk brothers as a prime example). Physical with good speed (Kreider has speed to burn), great shot and leadership, on and off ice.
As of now, only Gettinger exudes any of those traits in the organization in terms of the wing; with the rumored players getting closer to being moved, he and Ryan Gropp are the only semblance of the left wings fitting this playing style.
The Rangers' future roster is missing a numbers of pieces. Deals to be made will be for wings and defensemen; but the framer, Gorton, will need to get it right.
Geisser is solid, but Burakovsky is a dud..pure and simple. Connor Hobbs is more of what the Rangers would be looking for. And, that's more like a Buchnevich trade.
Hope that's helpful.</div></div>
Bura isn’t a dud. He’s a very solid player... he needs to play for a franchise that will give him an opportunity in their top 6 and top pp. his shot is great and has pretty good hands. Hes the most nhl ready player the caps could offer that would immediately benefit the rangers and that would also help them 5 years down the road.
Hobbs would be hard to replace for the caps considering we have 8 lhd prospects and maybe 2 rhd.
Idk if anyone is going to offer much more than this for krieder. That’s not to say he isn’t good but he’s more or less a rental. I mean the Sens took less for brassard and at the time you could argue his value was higher than krieder is now.
But I appreciate your response gives me a little more understanding on why nyr fans might not like this deal

in no way zucc is overated over the last few years he has been one of the most underated forwards consistantly putting up 50+ and getting 60 multiple seasons in a row but is forgotten because nash was there who wasnt producing.
