Leddy is a puck moving defenseman. He plays top minutes and had 31 points last season and 12 this season. You're not getting him retained for a second. Especially with Yzerman as the GM.

I like Fleury, but this is way to much. Giving up one of their better prospects while also trading their pick. Is it lottery protected?

No.
They get a decent goalie while also trading the two best bottom 6 players (they have bottom 6 issues) and trading one of two Dman that is actually good.
Awful trade for Buffalo and Edmonton.

A realistic TDL
Holland refused to trade the first when they desperately needed top 6 players last season. While Fleury is certainly an upgrade over Koskinen and Kubalik would be a nice addition, losing those picks when they desperately need a farm system is what makes me say no (and the second).
They also have their left wing pretty much set in stone, and giving up Yamamoto would weaken an already weak RW position.
It's not a bad trade and in other circumstances, it'd be very fair, but knowing how Holland works, this trade would never get done.

Oilers trade
This actually helps out the Oilers a lot more than you think. They'd be clearing up over 3 million on cap while arguably gaining a better and only giving up a third.
However, I don't see Vancouver doing this. As I write this, the Canucks only sit 4 points away from Edmonton and they're trending upwards, the Oilers are not.

Neal's contract is done in two years, just in time to sign this year's rookies.
Chiasson is done at the end of the season.
Turris has a short contract, after next season it's done.
Keep the picks, buyout Neal. It's pretty **** simple. You're giving up way to much to save 3,566,677 on cap next season, and then 1,916,677 for the next three seasons after that.

Yeah, the farm doesn't go that far back. Clearly they ****ing sucked at it pre-Chiarelli.
Bear, Jones, Khaira, Marino. All NHL regulars. Benson has the highest PPG in the AHL of players who've played 20+ games.
Skinner, a third rounder, has a .913 save percentage in the AHL as a 22 year old.
Ilya Konovalov has a .923 save percentage in the AHL
Lavoie (2nd) , McLeod (2nd), Savoie (4th) all look to have promising careers ahead. Especially McLeod
Plenty of other very late draft picks making an impact in Bakersfield, Kemp (7th round), Desharnais (7th round) Kesselring (6th round) all play in the AHL, which is solid for that late.
You clearly don't know **** about Edmonton prospects.

You're ignorance to 2nd round picks are showing. That's a pick in the late teens/early 20s, at most 25th... That's a good spot to pick. Stop being a ****.
Samorukov isn't their top prospect for sure, but he's not someone I want to be throwing away, along with the pick AND Bear.
Also Bear... Jesus Christ. With all the promise he showed last season, you're ready to throw him into a cap dump for a player who may not even re-sign? He had a damn concussion, let's not try and throw that away for nothing, especially with a buyout being a much smarter idea.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claebom</b></div><div>I think the only part of it that Ottawa balks at is the James Neal portion. They love Connor Brown (for a good reason), and Neal just isn't good any more. With Dadonov falling off a cliff for them, it's hard to justify taking on another winger who is on the wrong side of 32 and crumbling away. Positionally, Neal doesn't crack their top 4 left wingers. He's below Tkachuk, Stützle, and Paul, and they will want to play Formenton. He also doesn't crack their top 4 right wingers. He's below Batherson, will play below newly acquired JP, will get fewer chances than Dadonov, and will not get in over Watson who is a lock on their 4th line. That's not enough to take on a guy who doesn't crack their lineup.
Otherwise, yeah. Sens would say yes to the Tierney "part", and would likely be good with the Dzingel/Gudbranson return. Just don't see them being willing to part with Connor Brown unless it's an overpay, and certainly not with Neal coming back.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dutchies</b></div><div>You're right, Holloway is definitely a decent prospect. But this trade needs to be dialed down. EDM can't sustain a cap with MCD / Drai / Jack. They haven't done a good enough job drafting the past number of years. the Leafs have been able to do it, because they have cheap contracts in the system and have found players that will come for cheap. EDm has McD, but the city isn't a destination like Toronto. How many guys in the league say "I grew up in Edmonton cheering for the Oilers, I'd love to go play there for a discount". It sounds stupid and unfair, but look at what guys like Spezza, Simmonds and Thornton have done for this team (whether it's on or off the ice). But the 4 big cap hit contracts are going to come back and bite the Leafs in the ass after this year, when Hyman is looking for 5-6 mil, and Rielly the following year at at least 6.</div></div>
They've done a great job drafting, what planet are you on?

Russell, Savoie and a pick. That's all I'm doing for Taylor Hall. This isn't MVP Taylor Hall, he has 2 goals (Adam Larsson has three), just over a .50 PPG clip. I'm setting this target, and if Buffalo doesn't accept, then whatever.

The great news about this is that it's an absolutely terrible trade for Edmonton. They're giving up way too much to move Neal when a buyout of 1.9 million over two years is a much smarter way to go about it.
Plus you're not giving up a puck moving dman, a first AND a solid prospect. Get outta here.

Hall literally has less goals than Adam Larsson. He's making at least 4 million to score just over .50 PPG, if he's moved to Edmonton, a contract like Russell's will balance it out.

Every dollar counts during the flat cap era. The oil need to surround McD with more talent, or he's walking at the end of his deal at the ripe old age of 29.</div></div>
They've done well enough drafting and McDavid is a literal reason for players wanting to play in Edmonton. Yeah, paying a player that doesn't play for you is annoying, but that 1.2m isn't why they're in cap hell. That's based on their dumb decisions to pay their players far too much. Namely Tavares. 2 million over 4 years won't cripple this team.

They want to resign RNH (6 mil or higher), they need a better goalie (4 mil). Barrie has fit in well there, and he'll be another 5 if they resign him. They need to fill 10 spots on the roster. The 3 pre mentioned will take up around 15 mil combined. so you need to fill 7 spots for 10 mil and if you buy out Neal, you lose that limited flexibility. it's not rocket science. You need to pay someone in picks and talent to get rid of your cap headaches.</div></div>
Neal's cap next season: 5.75m

Hall TO Edmonton
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/426959
I'll reiterate - the Oilers have TONS of cap space this summer. Now, that doesn't mean it can't be squandered, but as it stands today they have plenty of space to add a few good players.
Anyhow my response was to a guy who stated that the Oilers can't afford to pay Nuge $7M, which even you have admitted isn't true.</div></div>
Klefbom may not be on the LTIR, there's 4m you didn't add. If not, Barrie is getting signed to an absurd contract. Say around 6 million.
That on top of Nuge takes up a lot of that cap space you were talking about. Unless it's a short term deal (2x4 or something), he'll be making 6 million. If he walks, then you have the issue of signing two top 6 players with 10 million left.
That's 10-12 million of the 25m in cap room, for two players.
If you do sign Nuge, you may still need a second line LW (Holloway may not be ready for that role, Kahun is more of a middle six guy), and that's about another 4-6 million.
Signing Nuge and Barrie: 12 million + the 9,625,000 that you proposed is around 21 million (out of 25 million) Klefbom being healthy results in 10m + 9,625,000.
Then you also neglected three players who will likely be re-signed:
Larsson is getting re-signed if Klefbom is back. I could see them not signing Barrie and choosing Larsson instead if Klefbom is ready next season. Definitely cheaper than the contract he's on now, but still a few million, let's say 2.5m. If Klefbom isn't back and then don't sign Barrie and run Larsson, you're significantly downgrading your team for a low amount of cap.
I doubt the let Haas walk. He's a good fourth liner. Not an expensive contract, but still near a million.
Stuart Skinner, dunno why you forgot him. Cheap, but the way he's playing in the AHL makes me not want to lose him.
So either the team remains relatively the same (or the exact same) except for Klefbom in for Barrie, or they significantly lose quality in their top 6 and RHD (although Bouchard may be ready to play more minutes).
Don't even get me started on if they DON'T buy out Neal.
