Actual Roster from 3 Months Ago
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Snipshow4416</b></div><div>Holy awful ????</div></div>
It was a very fun year! Also, asking your opinion..... Is it worse for the Devils or the Flames that the Devils were winning 4-3 at the end of the 2nd period?

Two Ex Sharks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kill_Barson</b></div><div>That's the first reasonable contract I have seen for Donskoi, most have him way overpaid. I think he'd do well in Jersey.</div></div>
For real though, Donskoi is insanely underrated. East Coaster here so don't watch too many of the Sharks games, but all his underlying numbers are crazy. Think he's one of the best 3rd liners in the league. Though my unreal, hopeful brain hopes Shero find some way to pry Meier away from them any way necessary.

Pulju Trading Scenarios
EDM is giving up way to much for close to nothing, which would be a very EDM thing to do so I find all of these possible.

NJ Fans whats fair value for Zacha
Only way they get rid of him is in a package for a Top 4 D or Top 6 Winger. Potential is sky high for him, he just found none of it yet. If Toronto moves him to LW, I can see him fitting in very well next to Tavares and Marner.

Meier Maybe Moving
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Vorg_Vaarg</b></div><div>LOL. Shows you know absolutely nothing about the sharks system. Dahlen is probably about 5th or 6th in line behind Chekhovich, Chmelevski, True, Suomela and Blichfeld. Meier will be signing a bridge deal as all of SJ’s homegrown stars have done from Couture to Pavelski, Hertl and Vlasic.</div></div>
You are highly confident that he's signing a bridge deal when folks are offering him 6+ Mil? Theres a cap crunch coming and its not unexpected when you put more then 25Mil into 3 defensemen. They'll try to keep him sure but if there's an offer sheet coming this offseason, I think Meier is the best candidate. Unless they let all their UFAs walk except Thornton cause I can see him only eating about 3Mil, they need to ice more than just 6 studs.

NJ CGY and beauty line-up
Dont think NJ trades two of their top 6 wingers but I don't think that trade is too far off. There is a trade to be worked out here.

Trouba Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Shaners79</b></div><div>Does anyone think Calgary is worth hitting up for maybe TJ Brodie. He's not Trouba by any means but he would be I think a decent 2nd pairing d man and he plays on right but shoots left.</div></div>
I think so, I like Trouba more, if nothing else because of age and RFA status. Brodie only has 1 year to UFA and will be 30 then. But if it doesn't work with Trouba, think he is an above average plan B.

Trouba Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Smitty426</b></div><div>I'm fine with DK but that makes the return less going to Winnipeg.
Zacha should not be part of that deal imo</div></div>
I mean.... you have to give up something to get something and Trouba is definitely something. Hes a bonafide number 1 defender in this league who still has his whole prime ahead of him. I'm a devils fan and even I get sick of seeing the package deals for good players that include Mueller, Mcleod, and JQ. I think Zacha would be an incredible fit with the Jets on a cheap RFA bridge deal to see if they can finally break all the potential brewing in him.
Devils shouldn't rush out and trade Zacha for scraps, the prospect of a 1-2-3-4 down the center of Nico, Hughes, Zacha, and Zajac sounds incredible. But Hughes definitely makes him expendable as a 3C. Having him reach his potential and never have the possibility of being more then that cause hes being blocked by Nico and Hughes is a luxury NJ cant afford if it brings a star defenseman.

Trouba Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>linehan10</b></div><div>I would think that probably does it. Vatanen at $3m May be a little much tho for WPG</div></div>
I have to admit I don't watch the Jets much being on the East coast and all so I'm not sure what they need most, but Vatanen is a very solid 3 or 4 defenseman who's great on the PP and is fine in a pinch on the PK. Also there's the Finnish connection with Laine. Cap savings from dealing DK in this so they can go for some good players in a deep forward FA period this summer and Vatanen would probably resign for a modest price with a contender like the Jets.

Would you do this
If I was Carolina, absolutely. Marner is special but I think Toronto would be nuts to trade him for anything. He should be considered absolutely untouchable until contract talks break down to the point where no one is happy. I believe they should trade Kadri, Nylander and Brown if it means getting the cap to resigning Marner. If it gets to that point of no return, a trade like this could happen, one of the better Marner trades I've seen.

Toronto and Nashville
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jack_</b></div><div>he was so unlucky all season, he led the leafs in takeaways and threw a bunch of checks. he makes matthews so much better but his offence just wasnt there. his shooting percentage will go up so he will score more and he will have far better wingers next year. brown is brutal in the oz and im not near an echl player but I could bring just as much to the table as marleau does in the oz.</div></div>
Yea, I see this year for Nylander as a completely off year that isn't indicative of the actual player he is. He is really, really good. It mainly comes down to staying out of cap hell for Toronto. The question they need to ask is trade like this and being able to keep Kap and whatever RD a Nylander trade will get worth more for this team then the offense he brings will provide. In a vacuum Nylander is the best player in this trade bar none, its the corresponding moves and team build that needs to be looked at. Asset management. I dont know if this trade is the answer but something like this is a possibility.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dodger510</b></div><div>I really like the concept of these trades working together, I'm just not sold on P.K. as a savior for our defense.</div></div>
Savior may be way to strong of a word and it definitely has a lot of risk for NJ, but he's an upgrade however you look at it from Severson and with just 3 years left on his deal, he comes off the books for Hughes' first big boy contract.

Oh I agree, he bought a house with his family in Toronto, he wants to stay there. But with this trade, Devils buy him out and then resign with TOR on a 1-year/1.5M contract or something to that extent since Devils will be paying him that other contract and taking all of the cap hit from it.

Sign Stone. 20-21 Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jwink19</b></div><div>I think you're overpaying Nico, Vatanen, and Butcher. I did one a couple weeks ago and I gave Hall 10, Nico 6.5, Sami 6, Butcher 4. Bratt and Zacha might get less than you have as well.</div></div>
Maybe? but I see prices going up around the league. I think Butcher is ganna make more then Hanafin (4.95 AAV). Bratt could really go either way, depends which Bratt shows up next two years. Hischiers agent is ganna be looking at Draisaitls deal. Im using Bozak as basis for Zacha. All these are projections for two years out so anything could happen.

I'd argue Seguin more then Panarin, but either way, I dont think Devils are ganna be able to get in on either, but I can see them getting in on Stone. He isnt THE diamond, but hes one of them.
