Hypothetical Future
My optimism about this team is near an all time low, but I will say Yurov is one of the things I’m most hopeful about. I actually think there’s a decent chance they eventually use him at C, and I think he can be a pretty damn good one.
Guess we’ll see how everything shakes out, but your top 6 here is a fun one to think about.

Prospect team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SimonSelaars3</b></div><div>That’s what I’m thinking. Management actually needs to give Rossi an opportunity to play with Kaprizov and Zuccarello. Last season they just stuck him with 3rd/4th line grinder types, which is the complete opposite of his play style. Put him on a line with other playmakers/goal scorers and I think he’ll have far more success than he has up to this point.</div></div>
Trade some of that defense to team with centers but in need of dman. SJS (Bystedt) or CHI (Greene) maybe.

I think it’s missing a top-line scorer to be a compete pool. Rossi gotta step up this year. Also Stramel probably a wing in NHL.

The most Id be ready to give up for Kane
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SimonSelaars3</b></div><div>This is not the move. Does adding Kane really make this Wild team a cup contender? In my opinion, no. We’d just be sending an almost Guaranteed top 4 LHD and a 2nd round pick for 3 months of an aging star who will walk in free agency as soon as they get bounced from the 1st round. Never been a big fan of trading for rentals unless you’re legitimately one key player away from being a cup favorite. Minnesota’s Stanley Cup window opens 2-3 years from now, there is no reason to waste top prospects and picks on players that will be gone by this time next season.</div></div>
My exact thought, as well. But since many Wild fans want Kane, I started to wonder, what would be my absolute ceiling for a trade.

Unpopular and unlikely
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SimonSelaars3</b></div><div>Yeah I don’t think there is any chance Larkin leaves Detroit but if he does Guerin has to make a move, we’ve needed a 1c forever and Larkin is a heck of a player/teammate. I wasn’t aware you couldn’t sign him to an 8 year deal. Also I don’t have any hate for Greenway I just don’t think he impacts games in many ways, he’s just skating around out there most of the time.</div></div>
A true number one with Kap would be scary. That kid is going to be fun for years. I hope personally it isn’t Larkin, and that Rossi claims that spot.
Watching Greenway last season I loved his game. Missing the time he did, it probably takes him a bit to get back into the swing of things.
All things considered, BG is doing very well getting through the Parise/Suter dilemma. Imagine when he has a full cap to work with, mixed in with the defensive prospects coming in. Speaking of which, Detroit would gladly take Faber or Addison lol

Cap Jail to Cap Heaven
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SimonSelaars3</b></div><div>I wouldn’t be against it but I think there will be better options than Eichel at that point. Matthews might walk from Toronto, Pasta might walk from Boston, Aho might walk from Carolina, Draisaitl might walk from Edmonton. I think the 24-25 season or 25-26 season is the time for Guerin to go big in free agency or the trade market to acquire an elite 1C or elite right handed winger. I actually think the 2025-2026 season will be the start of our cup window rather than a cup or bust year with guys like Wallstedt, Rossi, Boldy, Yurov, Faber, Lambos, Ohgren, Khusnutdinov, and others fully establishing themselves into the NHL. If you can add a player like Matthews, Aho, or Draisaitl to that core, they legitimately could be a wagon. And that’s not even mentioning the vets that will likely still be on the team like Brodin, EK, Spurgeon, and Hartman. If that isn’t enough to convince Kaprizov to re-sign, I don’t know what is.
Also, whoever our 2023 1st round draft pick is will hopefully be on the team by that time, which could be huge given how deep this upcoming draft is.</div></div>
Oh yeah, there's a million and one possibilities that may or may not be better. It's 4 years away, so it's complete and reckless speculation. The whole point of the Eichel theory is that there'd be layers of interesting little connections and nuggets that resurface years later and sorta come full circle. I mean, shortly after he moved to Vegas, he went on camera and stated, "for awhile I thought it might be Minnesota...". Little tie-ins like that.
Certainly would rather have Matthews or Drai, but that's more of a no-brainer and doesn't really have that same poetic nature to it.
It's just a fun little fan theory I have, not an actual suggestion on what the team should plan for.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>Barzal is still young enough to rebuild a team around. If the Islanders decide to tear it down, he's one of the handful that stay - 1Cs are very hard to find in this league and I can't see them flipping him out without getting a monster asset back. Not this is a bad package, but there's no real headliner in it - I'd rather get back a single pick and a higher caliber of prospect/young roster player if I was moving Barzal out.</div></div>
Lambos is definitely a headliner!

This team is gonna be so good
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SimonSelaars3</b></div><div>We have Haight who according to top analysts is a prime player to breakout in the OHL this season, he’s a right handed center who had a top 10 skill set in this draft but just didn’t put together the point production to match it so he fell to the 2nd round.
Adding Yurov and Khusnutdinov to the team within the next 2-3 could be huge in the potential re-signing of Kaprizov when his contract is up.
BG and Brackett have been doing business the right way by keeping their draft picks and stockpiling talented prospects, they’re the future of the franchise after all.
As for the Kaprizov situation, who knows if he makes it over or not, only time will tell but if he doesn’t I would assume he would stay under contract but this year of the contract would either go void or rollover into whenever he can get back over here to play, I highly doubt he will be “trapped” in Russia for long (if at all). I also think that Dumba will be traded at the deadline regardless of whether or not we are a playoff team. Everybody knows playoff teams overpay at the deadline and if you can pick up a late 2023 1st for Dumba then that’s a huge win considering how deep the 2023 draft is plus we have Addison and Faber who both will be on the team to start the 23-24 season.</div></div>
Haight looked solid in the development game, and give him sometime I do hope he has a great year in the OHL. He is name is also a sports writers dream oh the puns that it could generate are endless. This year will be interesting that’s for sure.

Guerin has two more moves to make
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SimonSelaars3</b></div><div>I don’t know what Guerin would be opening up cap space for then, we don’t need any more defenseman, we don’t need any more goalies, and we don’t need anymore bottom 6 forwards. The place I’d be looking to address is the wing spot next to Rossi and Boldy. Gaudreau isn’t a 2nd line player and is better suited at center because of his defensive prowess.</div></div>
Hence why I want Puljujärvi.
Boldy-Rossi-Puljujärvi is a sneaky good line to me.

If they did, it's so they can move him. They didn't have as many takers for him as much as they'd hoped he'd get.
Furthermore, he's stated he doesn't want to come back next year and they agreed to move him. Qualifying him likely only means they're giving themselves more time to get a trade worked out due to UFA starting tomorrow. As long as he's got that Qualifying offer on the table they can keep his rights, he'd of gone to UFA if they hadn't extended it.

Wild Prospect Team
Pretty good pool of players. I'd argue Boldy is no longer a prospect, though. There's a lot of talent here regardless, Faber and Lambos should be top 4 D, Addison I'm less high on but I think there's still a shot he's a top 4 guy. I was super high on Rossi in his draft year and I'm still high on him, but I think his ceiling is a 60-70 point guy now and not a 70-80 point guy like I originally thought. I think Yurov is in that same tier, probably a 60-70 point guy at his ceiling. Ohgren, Beckman, and Khusnutdinov fall into the same tier IMO, probably 40-60 point guys at their ceilings. Definitely one of the top 10 pools in the league.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SimonSelaars3</b></div><div>I’m a fan of both Yurov and Miro so I’d have no problem taking either of them, if they weren’t Russians and if Miro hadn’t been diagnosed with cancer they’d both be top 12 picks no doubt. Guerin and Brackett aren’t scared of going against the grain either so I can definitely see them going with a Russian in the 1 round. The reasoning behind trading one of our 1sts for Dach is to bring in a cheap young forward that can play this season vs having to wait 2-3 for whoever we draft to show up.</div></div>
I think Miroshnichenko would have been a top 5 lock, he's so talented. Really hoping we can grab him. I don't disagree with your last sentence at all, I think Dach would have a really good opportunity to thrive here and having Dach and Rossi as your 1-2 punch does leave me salivating.

He’d be my preferred pick at 19. If Marco Kasper falls to around 10-13 I would be happy to see Guerin trade up to try and grab him. Rossi and Kasper are very familiar with each other both being natives of Austria plus Kasper fills our biggest need at center and has arguably the one of the highest floors in the entire draft so he’s be a pretty safe pick.</div></div>
Personally not a fan of Kasper. Don't think he has a high offensive ceiling which is what we need. But to each their own :cheers
