Devils need a young top 4 long term LHD, top 6 LW, or legitimate u30 starting goalie. Devils were interested in Kasper and Edvinsson in their drafts but there are probably better options at 10 then at least Kasper this year so IMO that leaves Edvinsson and I don't think Detroit would do that

2. There’s a reason he’s a writer and not a GM.
3. You didn’t answer the question. You seem to think it just makes sense because of some draft value chart, but haven’t taken the time to go through the prospects and determine why it would make any sense to do that. 3 spots for Gus is HORRIBLE in terms of value. It’s GREAT for Jersey, which is probably why you both are pushing it.</div></div>

Brady Tkachuk would be your 2nd best player
I generally agree with your take on the Brady to NJ trade but he is not better than Hischier a PPG selke contender who's penalty differential is nearly -100 over the last 2 years not to mention Hamilton who is usually around 5th in Norris votes over the last 5 years

Top-5 prospects with 2+ years on ELC are never traded…maybe once a decade. (Not to mention one that plays a highly sought after position)
Top wingers are traded every year.
A lot harder to find a Nemec than a big winger.</div></div>
Matthew is probably the only power forward definitely better than Brady he's a rare commodity as well I believe Tkachuk doesn't follow the norm when it comes to winger trades.

I'll say this about Holtz its not the most likely thing but if he hits he's he's gonna score 40+ nothing to do with trades just the disrespect for him has gotten out of hand around the NHL

IMO both sides are wrong on the price saying Nemec isn't enough and devils fans barely willing to go more than Holtz and 10th overall its all ridiculous giving up Nemec alone for him stings for NJ fans and only getting Nemec back is a hard pill for sens fans to swallow and I think that's how you know a trade is probably fair.

If Calgary wants to move from 9OA to 5OA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>habs_trade_churner_50</b></div><div>It cost the Leafs the 7OA, the 37OA 68OA to move up to 5th in 2008
It would likely cost 9OA, Vancouver's 1st in 2024 and Calgary's 2nd 2025, to move into the 5th overall spot from the 9th.
The trade very likely won't happen.
(Pelletier is not worth the 26th overall, maybe a high/mid-second. Makes no sense for Calgary to trade Pelletier. I'd agree Zary is not worth giving up it either for the F lames, so don't see this trade happening. But GM's do crazy things on draft day.)
So if the Flames want to move up ... I don't see Kent Hughes accepting anything less than the package I proposed above
Or the 2024 9OA, Vancouver's 1st in 2024 and Jakob Pelletier. [For the 5th OA and Sean Farrell]</div></div>
26th is equivalent to 37 and 48 but I get what you mean trading up in the top 10 is much more convoluted then anywhere else in the draft

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>He didn't play with far less talent. Rossi played less than half of his ice time with Kaprizov and that's about it. He played with Boldy for a song. Beyond that, he played with bottom six players. There's not any meaningful difference in quality of linemates between the two, and even if there was, Rossi still outperformed Mercer as would be expected, and did it while playing a harder position as a rookie.
There's no universe here where Mercer is significantly more valuable than Rossi. Mercer had one standout season out of three so far. It's pretty easy to see the caliber of player he is at this point. Rossi has one data point but it's essentially where Mercer is now. With more data points that may change. But until Mercer has another 55+ point season, that's not the norm, that was the aberration.</div></div>
He had 1 more goal and 6 more assists playing nearly half his ice time with a top 3 winger I'm over this delusion Mercer had a better rookie season 2 years ago this isn't really even debatable enjoy your slow 5'9 center

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caerii</b></div><div>That's...not...
Rossi was not STAPLED to Kaprizov in any meaningful way and Zuccarello is downright awful outside of the PP (the fact that you think otherwise already shows me you don't really know much about the Wild outside of stats). Rossi played with Kaprizov at times, most of his even strength time was away from Kaprizov. He also only got PP2 time as well, and our PP2 was putrid.
And if you're going to bring up his time with Kaprizov, we're not going to pretend like Mercer didn't also get pretty significant time with Meier specifically, but also Hischier and Hughes at times.
These two are very equal at this point, and again, Rossi outscored Mercer last season while playing a very responsible two way game at center. Rossi also still has the higher upside.</div></div>

Mercer's year was substantially more Chaotic and played with far less talent and Meier played the entire year with both MLCs torn a core muscle injury and just had his shoulder reconstructed and same with Hughes who played with a dislocated shoulder all year I wouldn't even compare them to Kaprizov this year

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Digitalbooya06</b></div><div>Rossi had more goals and more assists while playing a more important position just this past season. How do you figure?</div></div>
Mercer did not have a good year by any stretch but was great last year and was stuck playing with mostly guys like Lazar Haula Nosek and McLeod with 2nd unit PP time where as Rossi was STAPPLED to Kaprizov and Zuccarello most of the year. Every NHL GM would take Mercer over Rossi there's no debate. Where as they'd see average skating 5'9 180 pound center vs average skating 6' 195 pound irresponsible goal scoring winger then it really just comes down to what teams need more both are talented but flawed
