<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rktkt66</b></div><div>As he's openly told the media since becoming GM, Kevyn Adams will call every team as due diligence to ask about certain players the Sabres may like - if only to check availability and asking price. The Buffalo media qualified the Meier situation the same way. Adams may have called the Canucks about Demko but neither that or the Meier call means anything will actually happen.</div></div>

I heard a rumour
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rktkt66</b></div><div>No one - Friedman's own words in his latest 32 Thoughts column are only him speculating on hypothetical scenarios, based on commonly-understood situations: 1) the Canucks are embarking on a rebuild; 2) rebuilding teams often trade their established veterans to get younger and acquire picks; 3) Demko is one of those established veterans; 4) teams like Columbus, LA, Buffalo and Pittsburgh don't have a true # 1.
<em>Let’s see how things play out when goaltender Thatcher Demko returns. The fact he’s signed with a bit of term makes him attractive, and teams will want to get a feel for what Vancouver is thinking. Buffalo, Columbus, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh all make sense. The Sabres and Blue Jackets can afford to be patient — they are thinking long-term — but others would need to know he can make a spring 2023 impact, particularly with the price to be paid. Will there be enough runway before March 3 to convince buyers Demko is ready? </em></div></div>
I am saying that as in they dont disclose them so why would i disclose mine

I heard a rumour
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rktkt66</b></div><div>It's one thing if a respected media member reports that one of their trusted sources told them something that gives credibility to rumors but too often fans jump on board even the slightest of name associations ("team x and player y") that sometimes get mentioned and start feeding theories until word of mouth on social media starts acting like it's imminent.
Pierre LeBrun mentions that the Sabres called about Meier and the Buffalo media confirms that a call was made. That's all yet the Buffalo fans start believing the Sabres are all in on acquiring Meier.
In the case of Demko, Elliotte Friedman only offered his own thoughts about Demko, based only on the precedent of past rebuilding teams typically dumping their stars for assets, and said that common sense looking at teams around the NHL with a need for a goalie and who have cap space included the Sabres. He didn't report the Canucks were rumored to want to trade Demko - in fact, he went out of his way to dismiss his own theory and acknowledged the Canucks have no interest in trading him. Likewise, despite what fans and media in Buffalo think, their GM has repeatedly expressed confidence in their 3 current goalies and the faith they have in Levi becoming an NHL goalie.
In short, I don't see the trade happening because neither side is likely interested.</div></div>
Only going from what I have heard and sorry I am not comfortable putting out into the world the name of a friend of mine who could potentially get in trouble. Not saying their was a formal offer just saying call was made and this was the structure of the talks. Again not saying it is for sure going to happen just thought it would be cool to throw out into the metaverse and didnt realize i would hurt so many nucks fans feelings...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Canucks33</b></div><div>There's been cold water poured on the idea of trading Demko.
I liked Mittlestadt as a potential complimentary 3C given his skillset but with the acquisition of Raty and the likely organizational belief that he'll be an NHL center as soon as next year I don't think he would have a place here. Comrie makes sense as a goalie in return, I doubt Vancouver would be interested in a goalie prospect. The 1st is also very nice. If Mittlestadt where replace with Jokiharju it would be a near perfect deal for Vancouver.</div></div>
yho
Again to reiterate this isnt my proposal it is one that I heard from someone within the van org. As a buffalo fan I would drive joki to the airport and take back mitts. Save yourself from the joki project

And Rutherford has made that clear in almost every single press conference including the one today. They want immediate impact players under 25 if they shake up the core.
