whats Zadorov value
Connor Timmins and a 3rd?
I think Timmins is a regular 3rd pair dman but can play up to 2nd pair minutes if insulted properly. Maybe?
Relatively cheap deal too with upside he COULD bring, might be wishful thinking though.
Send GIO there to retire as a toss in

Pre-Expansion Draft Roster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bdawwwgy1</b></div><div>i mean, maybe take foudy out of that trade? why would we trade foudy for kerfoot.
also how tf does reilly replace jones</div></div>
Foudy is worth much more than just Kerfoot. He is just beginning his career and has so much growth to come even with his existing skill set, speed etc.
With Foudy's track record regarding his development prior to reaching the show, he has the potential to be a top 6 difference maker. He is one to follow...
However, I don't mind some of the *hypothetical* ideas here to imagine..

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Brunobell</b></div><div>I hate when people are really negative on GM proposals but... holy hell man.
1. 2-way deal doesn't mean they are waiver exempt. Has nothing to do with waivers.
2. Halak staying in BOS because Tuuka may retire.
3. Getzlaf seems unlikely.
4. Goodrow is about 500k too low.
5. Bogosian is about 500k too high.
6. Bobby Ryan isn't playing for 750k again.
7. Why the hell would they want Jurco and Ho Sang
8. Jesus tap dancing Christ, 5x5.5 for Saad????</div></div>
I don't mind this team necesarily but there are a few points to make:
- That is an overpayment for Saad it seems but Saad is in the same boat as Hyman (not saying they are the same players) but same situation. Many teams are looking for guys like him and therefor he will get overpaid by some desperate GM because a few teams are interested in his services. Could you allocate that 5M elsewhere? Obviously yes, especially with the latest Landeskog rumours (far fetched to materialize) but all considering 2-3M more you are in the conversation for him...
- The ACGM here for this roster is obviously using Ho-Sang and Jurco as comparables to Dubas' idea of Alex Gally from last year. Is it a terrible idea? They both have potential I guess, BUT when you look at the leafs overall cap situation, do they have the luxury of 1.5M on re-construction projects?...maybe not when they need every dollar of their cap space to help them get out of the first round, NOW. (I like the idea though, sometimes can find gems like this..)
- I see many people who are ACGM the leafs signing a back-up goalie for more than what Campbell is currently making. To each their own however Campbell deserves to be given a full 82 game cycle in the starters crease so why not sign a veteran for 1M or around there who is fine to be a back up and provide stability when Campbell needs games off?
- Bobby Ryan will probably double his salary on a contender I would presume..
- Goodrow is a great option, not to mention Blake Coleman as well...Goodrow made $975,000 last year and has consistently put up 20 points in last two seasons. $2.5M is a raise for him for now to continue to prove his consistency. 3M is also fair too.
All and all the idea here is solid, the numbers would need to be tweaked, the 3rd line centre role, I would look outside of Getzlaf for someone a tad younger who provides a little more offence.
Also to mention, move some of the bodies out such as Engvall and get a pick or something for him if he is being pushed out of the lineup. This would also help you become cap compliant.
I am the same, I don't like negativity on these forums, people are just having fun and being hypothetical so that is why I respond as so.

Marner for Landy
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NoWah49</b></div><div>4th overall pick is nothing??? lol</div></div>
Oops..I overlooked that to be honest...forgot where they are picking...that is solid but I still think no. Leafs don't need anymore high end prospects to wait on...they need to win now....unless they use the NJD 1st to flip in another move potentially?
Wood could replace Hyman but I still think you need a higher end piece than Zacha going back to the leafs to consider it and probably a few other picks.
It seems astronomical in some ways and that is why this trade would never happen but cool to at least hypothetically talk..

Marner for Landy
Leafs say no...Marner isn't going for nothing although I see you are trying to clear cap space...understandable but nah.
They could fit Landeskog in without moving Marner if they really wanted to and obviously would be ridiculously strapped to the cap.
Why bring in another big contract even though Landeskog is appealing no doubt.

What is with all the insane Eichel valuations
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BCAPP</b></div><div>He thinks too highly of himself to be the fourth highest paid left wing in the league (fifth if you count Giroux as a Left wing)?</div></div>
Exactly my point, he thinks to highly of himself for 7.5M and is obviously worth more than that despite playing 55 games at almost a PPG rate. I would hope he can continue that..

Many have said Greenway could turn into a Tom Wilson type player moving forward in future years..lots to like about him.

Kaprizov won't sign for 7.5M...he thinks too highly of himself...I would imagine you would have to beef up your trade offer for Eichel.
2 of Rossi/Addison/Boldy
1st round pick X2
2nd round pick (possibly X2)
1 of Fiala/Greenway ***
Sounds crazy but you are trading for Jack Eichel..franchise centre who Buffalo is not going to let go for cheap...have to ask yourself if he is worth it for all of that or if you can snag someone in Free Agency within the next few years for cheaper who could be just as good? Don't want to rip apart the team for just Eichel alone...tough one...

Toews
You need to look at all variables in a Toews trade as you are talking a franchise player here...yes I know he is past his prime and has been injured but still you are partly paying for the name and history that comes with him.....Also retaining his salary is going to cost an arm and a leg...and why bring in someone like him to play 3rd line minutes when he will probably still compete in the top 6 if fully healthy and surrounded with some OK talent.... at this point for what you are looking at...1st round pick, Robertson or Sandin and another prospect and a lower pick or two it isn't worth it.....a 3rd line centre should be no more than 3.5M in todays cap world. Stan Bowman isn't that stupid, he won't let him go for nothing. That would be like the leafs letting Tavares go for nothing, although he is not worth what he used to be, you are still paying for John Tavares, the former 1st overall pick, former captain of the Islanders and Leafs, former reliable goal scorer and play maker, all of the hype he used to have...just my 2 cents.

Any team who gives Dubas anything in return is more so doing him a favour....a 5th sounds accurate unless it is an overpaying GM from Western Canada....cough..Vancouver..cough Edmonton....Lol

No WAY the leafs get a 1st round pick in return for Hyman. Why would a team give up that many assets for signing rights. Maybe if Hyman was already under contract with a decent bit of term left and a decent dollar. Teams can wait until free agency if they really want to and get him for free.....Leafs will maybe get a 3rd round pick for him solely if they are lucky.
Also Virtanen is not worth all of that. As seen in Vancouver, he is a liability and has been unable to really prove himself...

No sense in the leafs taking on more large contracts...also why would the leafs want Nick Paul? They already have enough forwards who can't move their feet quick enough.

This Might Work
Dreidger will fetch at least 3M if not 3.5M like he is said to be asking. He also will not want to be in a back-up role. Sign a veteran to a cheaper deal who can provide support when required. Campbell has proven himself to be given a chance to be in the starters crease for a 'normal' regular season cycle.
Rielly could be used in a better deal, Sandin is not strong enough yet to jump into top pairing minutes.
Not to mention, JT Miller and Nate Schmidt both have terrible contracts. Could easily use that 11M elsewhere.
Saad would be a nice acquisition but he will be signed to an overpayment by some desperate GM.
