I’ll give it to the creator of this mock. The value is actually <em>really</em> fair for both teams.

I, personally, don’t think my two part mock trade will happen. However, if the Rangers were going after Eichel, the trade(s) would look like something similar to this.

*The first round pick the Rangers lose is the 10th overall pick that they acquired from Ottawa in Part 1 of this deal (Part 1 should be found somewhere under this mock).*

You should’ve just named this mock trade “Kevyn Adam’s Final Trade”, because it wouldn’t just be true, but it would also just speak for itself, y’know?

JonesEichel Blockbuster Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wagsnags</b></div><div>I was waiting for that retort....
Bemstrom has struggled considerably. He was very streaky in his first year where he played 56 games going 10 + 10 for 20 points but for long stretches he was MIA and was a complete non factor in the playoffs. Then last year was not a season we can say that he is or is not NHL ready. At best he is a bottom six winger at this point who may develop into a 2nd line winger but I think this is remote. A .33 points per game just does not move the needle.
Eric Robinson has more games played in the NHL and again the best I can say about him is that maybe he will stick as a bottom 6 winger. His 120 games played with a .25 points per game is not going to get anyone excited if it does then you should be a fan of the Buffalo Sabres.
I appreciate that the only thing you garnered from my post was that the two prospects have not played in the NHL. Actually if they had never played in the NHL would have been a better argument that they have potential. Instead they have actually played in the NHL and demonstrated that they are no more than 3rd liners.
Again I ask how does CBus get that type of return by giving up so little?</div></div>
I can see where you’re coming from that they’re only third line forwards, but they are still relatively young and have lots of room to grow. Plus, it’s safe to say that Buffalo are rebuilding and that they are developing their youth to the max. If they do the same for Robinson and Bemstrom, they can become solid top 6 forwards, which isn’t bad value for an Eichel trade where they’re not the principle part of the deal.

JonesEichel Blockbuster Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wagsnags</b></div><div>Thank you for the effort that it takes to put together a 3 team trade they are a monster. I appreciate the opportunity to comment on the trade.
I think you have fallen into the current trap on this site to absolutely devalue Jack Eichel. I say that not as a criticism it is just fact that a plethora of commenters and trades believe that GM Adams will get hosed by the other experienced GM's and he will take a devalued return just like the Taylor Hall situation. They will point out that Capt. Jack is not healthy (a debatable point), he is forcing Adams to move him, that his game is not Elite but it is 2C at best, et al.
IMO GM Adams does not have to trade Capt. Jack right now he can wait until the trade deadline and a short period before Jack's no movement clause kicks in on his contract. GM Adams will be paraded around Downtown Buffalo with people shouting SHAME, SHAME, SHAME like Cersei's Walk of Atonement in Game of Thrones (that was a fantastic episode IMO.... sorry I digress). You can not really expect GM Adams to accept Pick 20 & Pick 25 in this years draft plus 2 marginal prospects who may end up never making it in the NHL (Bemstrom & Robinson) and a developing D prospect in Peeke.
If GM Adams is giving up the best player in the trade though maybe you think that Capt. Jack is not the best player in the trade (Jones, Jones, Peeke, Bemstrom then Eichs) so 5th best player in the trade.... the Adams has to expect that he should get a couple of top prospects and lottery pick such as CBus #5 Pick in 2021).
CBus gives up the least and picks up the best return. I hope for your sake & CBus fans this deal happens as it would be awesome for CBus!!!</div></div>
It’s funny you say what you said about Robinson and Bemstrom because they both have already played in the NHL.

Being a Rangers fan, there’s no way the Rangers trade Kreider, a longtime Ranger, just to get younger. Sure, getting a solid prospect in a deal is good, but the Rangers are done rebuilding. In the 2019-20 season, Kreider resigned with the Rangers right before the trade deadline, and he would’ve been traded if he wanted out. Now that he’s signed for a while, he definitely ain’t leaving the Big Apple anytime soon.

Peterka-Stutzle Co
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>Yeah I know Peterka and Stützle would have chemistry, but that doesn't make Peterka worth a top 10 pick imo. Also it's not like Peterka is the only player Stützle will ever have chemistry with.
I think there are players available 10th overall who are just flat out better than Peterka, and giving up on a better player to take a chance on a lesser prospect because he's friends with one of your players is really bad asset management.</div></div>
Does a second round pick mean nothing to you? I mean, I get it’ll probably be in the 50’s somewhere, but there are plenty of good players that come out of that section of the draft. For example, Nikita Kucherov was drafted 58th overall in his draft. Duncan Keith went 54th overall. Patrik Elias went 51st overall. Do you get the point yet? Buffalo sucks right now, and they need to build for the future, so upgrading their pick would be good for them. Ottawa, on the other hand, could definitely stop building for the future soon, and giving up a first round pick for a lower pick and a player they know will be very good for them, makes this a fair deal for both teams in my eyes.

You have a good argument there, but do you remember the chemistry between Peterka and Stutzle at the World Juniors? Imagine making that a reality. If Ottawa can pull a trade like this off, giving Buffalo a first-rounder and bringing in Peterka, this is a clear win-win in my eyes.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wagsnags</b></div><div>No worries then.... without either Zegras or the 1st Round Pick I do not see GM Adams moving Capt. Jack to the Ducks. I guess I just do not understand how terrible of a hockey player Jack Eichel is....</div></div>
I’m not saying that the value that the Ducks are offering should decrease.. I just don’t think the Ducks would offer (potentially) the most two important pieces of their franchise for one player. I think if the Ducks were really going for Eichel, they would probably give up one or the other and add some other pieces to make up for the other, if that makes any sense.

I like Devil1122’s idea more with adding skinner to the deal. It definitely helps Buffalo getting his contract off their hands, but it also helps Seattle too, giving skinner a change of scenery and helping Seattle get to (salary) cap floor.

I don’t think the Ducks would offer or accept this deal, solely because Zegras is their future and their first rounder is the third selection in the draft. However, I do think that the Ducks have other players with value that they would give up instead of Zegras and the 1st.

Another 3-way deal that wont happen
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koba</b></div><div>If 3 months of David Savard is worth a 1st round pick, then a year of Seth Jones is getting AT LEAST a 1st round pick. There's absolutely no way this happens, especially if Ristolainen is the "best" piece coming back to CBJ. You might as well make it Seth Jones for Jack Johnson.
</div></div>
Let’s say that Jones never gets traded and leaves Columbus to free agency next summer. This could happen, but the most Columbus will ever get out of Jones is one more season. In my opinion, Ristolainen can break out in Columbus and bring great talent to Columbus for years to come. Plus, you don’t know what the draft picks can become. Therefore, you can’t call this a bad deal because Columbus gets good blue line service for years to come and Buffalo gets a significant defense improvement.

I feel like trading a third line forward who put up 11 points this past season straight up for a Dman with Top 4 potential doesn’t make any sense for Buffalo.
But Buffalo’s GM is Kevin Adams, so I wouldn’t be shocked if he offered an awful deal like that
