I'd take a loooong look at this offer if I'm Bergevin. I'd get thinner at Center by giving 2 of them away but it's a tempting offer for sure.

Fiala was 22. I get he is having a down year. 72 is a good number, but you don't pay for what a player use to be in hopes they do it again. Look how far Dumbas value has dropped on this site.
At current moment
Brodin > or = to Domi
Donato > Poehling
1st round pick > or = Mete
Plus you are retaining salary. Wild can not afford to lose trades.

I just can't figure out why most of you want the Wild to get Domi?
If you want a number 2 center, which is what I think he is, then you are better off waiting and seeing how far away Khovanov is next year.
Domi's numbers to me do not look like number 1 center numbers.
I think the Wild need to find a true number 1, I think Domi is better than what we have at the moment, but I can't stand the thought of the Wild settling on more average.
Wild are better off clearing cap space and acquiring prospects and picks with a few exceptions and staying patient.

Playoff push because I cant accept fate
I also caught myself working through some trades to help playoff push with an eye to the future. The reality is Fiala would have to be consistently this good the rest of the season, Greenway would have to find his gritty side which might not be there, and Dumba would have to be more offensively productive. Top that all off with Dubnyk taking the rest of the season off and kahkonen stepping in to be great. Maybe we could make playoffs without all that but what's the point if you can't bring Stanley home.
Any of you know if Kaprizov can join the Wild for a playoff run if Wild did make it?

I understand what you are saying and I understand what you are going through...but no way is this team in a position to give up future 1sts for a (potential) playoff appearance...not with the goalie tandem they have anyways!!

Brodin to FLA
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>How is Heponiemi struggling ?
He's 148 lbs adjusting to small ice
he'll need time to pack on some muscle is all
i mean by your logic Primeau's adjusting to pro hockey less gracefully then expected , does that mean we give him away with our 1st for a mediocre D prospect ?
Brodin is a player every team has atleast 1 of and about the easiest to find in the draft a LHD who blocks shots and puts up 15-20 points at 20 -21 minutes on ice . Throw a stone and you'll hit a dozen players like this .
MTL signed one for 3.5m because WPG who had the cap after their dcore blew up but chose not to pay him because they felt they had more guys like him in their depth charts who could step up .</div></div>
Primeau is a goalie and goalies generally have a much longer development curve and adjusting period than a forward, so I don't think it's fair to compare the two. And where are you getting the idea of trading Primeau and a 1st for a mediocre D prospect? That is out of left field... anyways, Heponiemi has 1 goal and 9 assists in 36 AHL games as a highly skilled offensive forward. I don't know how else to put that than "struggling". I never said he can't turn it around, which is why I'd like the Wild to target him, but to question the fact that he is struggling is puzzling to me. He is a playmaker and would do best with a goal scorer like he had in the WJC a year ago and the Iowa Wild have AHL superstar Gerry Mayhew who has 31 goals in 39 AHL games. Putting Heponiemi with a guy like that could spark some playmaking development for Heponiemi at the AHL level.
You clearly haven't watched Brodin play, so I'll throw this quote at you from The Athletic:
"Evolving Hockey has Brodin's even-strength defense rated as second-best in the league. Brodin’s lack of numbers has hurt his trade value in the past. But as analytics are becoming more advanced — and teams are embracing them more and more — Brodin’s play is becoming easier and easier to quantify. And most signs point to Brodin being a top-pairing defenseman in the NHL. In three of the past four seasons, Brodin has been a top-30 defenseman in Wins Above Replacement (19th this season, ninth in 2017-18, 29th in 2016-17). Cumulatively, he’s 12th among all defensemen in that span with 6.9 total WAR. It’s impossible to dismiss him because of his low scoring — the data is there, and it shows that Brodin is as valuable as they come. And the smartest front offices know it."

That was my thought exactly with my comment above...until I considered a future Wild blue line with (potentially) Spurgeon, Menell, and Addison on the right side...
I am, however, a person who wants the best value (almost) regardless of need because redundant pieces can be moved later for pieces of need so I would definitely consider Addison in a trade with the Penguins.

Interesting idea, but while I like Zucker and Donato, this trade only furthers the Roster forward logjam the Canes have...two in, one out.
I would like to see Brodin as a Cane...but I’m guessing this doesn’t really work for either side all that well.
BTW - Bokk is turning into a A/Elite level prospect. After playing very well in the world juniors, he’s now tearing it up in the SHL as a 19 year old and is playing top line mins in the top league alongside men.

Why I think Ryan Suter could be traded if he waived
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>F50marco</b></div><div>It all comes down to Suter's willingness to waive his NMC for the team that is willing to add him. That is literally the only real hurdle. One I think he has no intention of jumping over. He's home and in the back 9 of his career anyway.
If for some reason he was willing to go anywhere that would have him, the second hurdle would be finding a realistic return for him. Just like with Shea Weber and or Carey Price in MTL. These guys are still elite players but their contracts/age heavily impact their trade value. So don't expect a bunch of 1st round picks and former 1st rounder prospects in return. The biggest value Minny would receive will be in the form of cap/money saved. Then some picks and prospects.
Any trade for Suter is going to be probably be for picks, prospects and a major cap dump though. If Minny is ok with that and Suter is willing to go elsewhere, yeah a trade could be made. Heck I'd even be ok if MTL would try for it (assuming they are hell bent on trying to win now while Price and Weber are here)</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RalphMac</b></div><div>All players have NMC or modified NMC....probably going to be tough to convince them to opt.</div></div>

if Mini is entering a rebuild he is a nice piece to have on the back end</div></div>

Parise is 35, Staal too, Koivu is 36, Zuuc is 32, Suter is 35, Spurgeon is 30, both goalies are in the 30s, he needs to trade 2 of them in the upcoming TDL IMO
