<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>Actually Calgary declines. Knight got paid an awful lot for an AHL goalie this year and he has 2 years left on his contract. A cap dump at another position maybe but not a goalie. Better to just keep Huberdeau.
Agree with you on the rest with the caveat that Calgary won't want Campbell either even if edmonton did offer that deal.</div></div>
Knight went into the player assistance program after that deal was signed and was in rehab. He's played very well in the AHL and will be an NHL goalie next season. Florida just had no reason to bring him up.

The only theory under which Florida would trade young center former first-round draft pick Anton Lundell is if their cap situation forces them to. So they wouldn't be taking back a 31-year-old winger with seven seasons left on a $10.5 million contract.

But Bennett has more value now than when he was with Calgary. He's a better player now.

ah yes, Florida would totally want to make a 1 for 1 trade where they get an older higher paid less talented goalie and give away a young goalie with potential. totally makes sense

There's more of a chance that LA takes Korpi back knowing how well he played for them last year, than FLA taking him that's for sure.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joblow</b></div><div>Problem is not Lundell play but cap space. Lundell on a bridge deal will be at least between 3-3.5 millions for 2 season. Florida have Montour, Reinhart, Bennet and Verhaege to resign the next 2 season along with 10 roster spot to fill. In my opinion Florida have a better chance at the cup in the next couple season with all these four players than with Lundell</div></div>
Lundells already playing 2C with Bennetts injury, let him walk and keep the young guy who's going to be around longer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Joblow</b></div><div>Harris might be exactly the kind of players Florida would want. He is the more NHL reliable at this instant and for a cup contending team who don’t have room to develop players Harris could fit in right away in the top 6 and provide instant help at low cost. Jake Evans could be added along with the Jets first.</div></div>
Maybe Harris could help Florida, but they could probably get him for a 3rd round pick, lundell is way more valuable.

I think that the cap problem Carolina faces is exaggerated.

Florida will get a first-round draft pick plus a more useful player than Dvorak or Harris for Anton Lundell.

Definitely, trading him for Dvorak makes 0 sense, they could bridge him for cheaper

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>littlejerryseinfeld</b></div><div>I don't think knight has a market right now. Rodrigues doesn't get this return. I doubt they will be able to keep Bennett anyways.</div></div>
Yes Rodrigues doesn't get that value but, Florida is in their Cup winning window so that isn't a priority. Between getting a 1st and A-B prospect and losing your 2C or getting a 3rd and C-D level prospect and only losing a 3rd line winger, too me it's an easy decision.
Knight, if Florida decides to move on could still get at least a 2nd maybe more but, definitely not high on many teams boards

FLA will sign Lundell over one of Montour or Reinhart. And if not, they'd rather get someone like Buchnevich (retained) for him.

Florida easily decline. Their window is wide open and apparently, they won't trade Lundell for Guentzel or Buchnevich. Why would they take this package?

Smith goes back home
I can't see Florida being interested in trading a reliable top 9 player and parting away with a pick for a more expensive and older player who really isn't that much better. Now Florida could be interested in Smith but they're looking to win in the playoffs and therefore aren't trading away roster players for that.

Andersonplus for Lundell
When last I looked, Florida was doing reasonably well and therefore is unlikely to want to upset the apple cart, especially since Anderson would be playing behind Tkachuk and Reinhart at RW. I think that they see Lundell as an eventual #2C and since they don't have anyone nearly as promising in the pipeline, I don't think that they're even considering moving him.
