Durzi kampf Graves Barbashev
From a roster point of view, Los Angeles declines because the Kings already have 13 forwards under team control for 2023-2024 who were on the roster at the end of the season, plus forwards moving up like Jaret Anderson-Dolan and Alex Turcotte, so that Garland doesn't represent someone we need. From a cap point of view, every bit of our cap space has to be directed to re-signing our RFAs, especially Gabe Vilardi, Rasmus Kupari and Tobias Bjornfot, so any trade not directed towards an LhD has to be cap-neutral, and this would increase our cap by $3.25 million (which is almost half of our current cap space).

Would love to see Graves as Hronek's partner on the 2nd pair, shutdown role.
OEL - Bear would be a reasonable 3rd pair too
Just need a partner for Hughes. Really don't see Durzi as the guy there though.

Rebuild around pettersson and hughes
The trades are largely a mess but this is the best course of action for the Canucks. Fire sale

I think getting Johnson would be solid, getting a BC boy back.
IDK how realistic it would be to get Coronato, I would be fine if they did take back Lucic as he only has this year left on his deal. I could also see teams being interested in a 2-way scorer in Mikheyev at the deadline.
IDK how good any of those Dallas prospects are but you would know more than me.
(Basically I believe that if Horvat goes, this should be the type of fire sale we see.)

I would absolutely hate this trade as a CBJ follower. You're also trading for the wrong 1st rounder from them if you want 6th OA.

Late 2023 first
Your coach doesn't even like kapanen
There's rumors pens are trying to move Marino anyways, getting a great center/winger would be great for you guys
Miller is a 99 point player that plays all situations and you get him at 2650000. Plus he'll probably re-sign too since he's from the Pittsburgh area

I would do this as a Pens fan as long as Miller came with an extension for sure. The Pens aren't trying to move Marino, there has just been interest in the player from a few teams around the league. But if moving him got a player like Miller past this next season, you can't really turn that down, even if it does cost you your first next year. I think Kapanen does have some value, just hasn't really fit in Pitt. He has the tools to be a good player, just hasn't been able to put it together. Maybe throw in a mid to late round pick coming back to even it out?

Pens accept if miller comes with an extension
Marino is the perfect partner for Hughes, and miller would make the Malkin-miller-rakell line one of the 2nd dirtiest lines in the nhl

Off-season moves - Marchment Newhook

Quoting: RC333

Yeah I agree with you. I personally don't think newhook is ready for 2C yet, I don't think he could produce at a 90+ point pace like Kadri or Miller, which sets the avs back. The nice thing about the Miller contract is it expires when Mackinnon needs an extension so realistically they can go for it next season and then look at different options if they don't want to pay Miller.
Marchment might get less than 5 mil, I think a lot of teams have ur mindset. He's got a really low sample size and he played on the most offensive teams in the league. He's still a good player and good defensively. His corsi was even good last year for Florida. I personally would love him on the Canucks.

Just re: JT...I just think that's a lot to give up for 1 year of him. If I'm Colorado and I don't think Newhook can handle the load next year, I'd probably target a veteran UFA on a 1 year deal...Obviously a wild and wacky, very unlikely thought, but Giroux apparently had interest in going to Colorado at the deadline...I wonder if Florida falls out early if he'd be willing to sign for a year to get a shot? Even Statsny wouldn't be a bad 1 year stop-gap.
Would Miller be fun in Colorado? Absolutely. I'd just think that the 2 extremely cheap years of Newhook probably hold a lot of value for Colorado.

Off-season moves - Marchment Newhook
Colorado would have to be really really really desperate for a 2C to do that. The Canucks are in a pretty good spot where Miller is going to be by far the best center available in the offseason so who knows.

Just FYI: under the latest revision to the CBA, you can't make a draft pick conditional upon a player's signing a contract anymore.

Rebuilding around petey Hughes demko
If you did those other trades(assuming the other teams would do them since this is all hypothetical) why pay to dump Myers when you have plenty of cap space, just wasting assets for nothing.
Also I think Vancouver rebuilding is a bad idea, they need to add talent, not waste years of Demko, Hughes, Petey and others hoping that a bunch of collected draft picks amount to anything.

Avs decline. They won’t trade Newhook. Myers has some value so you don’t have to trade him as a cap dump (likely only a 5th or so)

Quoting: RC333

1st + Coronato + pick gets u Miller

CGY needs to move a decent amount of cap to make it work. Will be a similar story for most playoff teams.
+ Are you sure VAN would be interested in taking the risk on Coronato? CGY fans will be quick to tell you how painful it is to see how great Adam Fox is. Being semi-sarcastic on this comment. Coronato looks like he’ll be a great NHLer. Just gun shy with college prospects on the other side of the continent from their “home”.

Unfortunately this would be a great trade if Buffalo wanted to compete next year.
With Ristolainen gone Myers would slip into the #1 RHD spot with Jokiharju and Miller.
It is hard to put a value on him, I am presuming @RC333 is giving him zero or negative value.
Dickinson, would be ideal as the 3rd or 4th line center behind, Cozens and Mittelstadt.
We know he has the value of a 3rd round pick as he was just traded for that.
Juolevi may have some value but not much for Buffalo as they probably have five options better than he at LHD, Dahlin, Power, Hagg, Butcher and Bryson.
I know he is a former first round pick so I cannot put a value on a player who was drafted in 2016 but has played only 23 NHL games.
Let's say he has a value about a 2nd.
Klimovich was selected 41st OA last year. Again difficult to put a value on him, but at least a 2nd
So adding up all of the value here:
2022 1st round pick (VAN)
2023 1st round pick (VAN)
2024 1st round pick (VAN)
2023 2nd round pick (VAN)
2024 2nd round pick (VAN)
3rd = Dickinson
2nd = Juolevi
2nd = Klimovich
???? = Myers
That is a boat load for Eichel. Three first round picks, four second round pick, a third round pick and Myers of unknown value.
I would give this an absolute thumbs up if this trade was offered to me.
Juolevi and Klimovich immediately improve my prospect pool
Myers replaces Ristolainen
Five first or second round picks for the future.
Jack would be on the first plane to Vancouver where he will find out what it is like to live in an expensive city, good luck Jack!!
