Schneider projects as an above average 4-6 guy IMO, which is exactly what the rangers will need if Trouba bounces back and Lundkvist fulfills his offense potential. Schneider can log minutes on the PK and play a shut down type role.</div></div>
Schneider projects as a bottom pair guy from what I've researched. Maybe if he D game improves enough to make him a Carlo like shut down guy then fine, but he certainly doesn't have the offensive upside to replace Trouba.

I guess Domi would get the edge because centers are valued more than wingers and NYR needs a 2C, they have plenty of wingers.
NYR has Trouba, Fox, Deangelo, and Lundqvist. He's expendable.

i get that Domi is a C, but is being a center really worth that much more?</div></div>
In all fairness, Domi would probably have his best years with NYR. I think he'd fit the system really well and he'd obviously have outstanding linemates. He wouldn't have to worry about a cursed team(AZ) or being forced to 3C or LW(MTL) or headbutting with a headstrong head coach(CBJ)(Say that 5 times fast)
Obviously it would have to be a Sign and Trade if NYR would give up that much.

a few pld trade ideas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>cbjthrowaway</b></div><div>Ehh, agree to disagree about him being an unattractive add. He's still a 22yo 1C with four RFA years making way under market value the next two years.
Some people around here look at his stats and see a 60 point forward, but he's on a team that has struggled to create any offense for the last two-plus years and has an anemic power play. Putting him on a more free flowing team that has a good power play and IMO he's an 80-90 point forward who is ridiculously strong on the puck.</div></div>
I have no doubt he'd be a good 60-70+ point guy, I disagree about 80-90. While I agree, he's very young, but at the same time he was on a line with Panarin and Atkinson who both had pretty crazy numbers in Columbus.
That's not really the argument though. He wants to play for a big market with more coverage, so that writes off LA and eventually Vegas when Seattle comes as well as many other teams. Already teams are seeing him as a problematic player. Now he says he just wants to go to Montréal? Why would any team in their right mind trade a massive package for a kid that doesn't want to play for their team? Unless that team is Montreal which I think they should trade for him, but no Canadiens fans like the idea because of what it would cost. (Danualt extended + KK IMO)
Like I said, he trapped himself in a box and made sure he has very few options. Columbus or Montreal and that's it IMO.

He actually hasn't declined much... Everyone had a bad year last season, but before that he had 10 goals in 27 games despite being injured.
If you don't want Carter because of his age, that's fine. But don't write him off as bad or declining when you don't know what you are talking about.

Dubois has pretty much closed himself in a tiny box. Wanting a trade this early in his career makes him a very unattractive add and now that he apparently wants to go to Montreal, it will be even harder for teams to want to pay a hefty price for him.
My guess, he is either traded to Montreal or he works things out in Columbus and stays.

Carter is still a 20 goal scorer and not that it means much because its early, but he's tied for 2nd in points league wide. He's playing outstanding with Lizotte and AA.

Pens
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>when you try to say other people look like a moron but your **** says **** like this.
"Why does it matter if Roslovic played the PK or not? "
Here is a clue hockey clueless. The more you can do on the ice to better your team the better. And where your minutes come from says a lot.
If you got a guy who gets 10 minutes of ice time a night but 3-4 of them come on the PK, then his odds of producing any points is a lot smaller than someone who gets 10 minutes of 5v5 or even strength play.
They get harder minutes, they contribute in different ways that aren't coming up on a score sheet.
10 goals is pure **** for a 3rd liner. That is indeed 4th line production. If you don't under stand that you aren't paying attention.
You want 3rd liners who can generate upper teens to 20 goals a season. It's called secondary scoring and every team in the league is looking for it.
So when you role a guy out and he generates 10 goals a season and gets 15 minutes of basically 5v5 play every night and you want to say the production is "fine" and "average" for a 3rd liner I'm going to tell you now that's pure bs.
Most 3rd liners are getting 12-14 minutes a night and a lot of them are putting up better numbers than he is.
This is why WPG isn't paying him.
I don't know why that is so hard for you to figure out.</div></div>
How many 3rd liners put up 20 goals in the NHL? Do you know how many top 6 players don't put up 20 goals? Come on dude, you're not that clueless...
10 goals is fine for a 3rd liner especially when he's putting up 30+ points. He's young, he'll produce more goals eventually, probably 15+
Winnipeg isn't paying him because he doesn't want to be in Winninpeg... My lord.
Btw, McCann is one of the best 3rd liners in the league and he doesn't put up close to 20 goals lol

Btw not 1 of their top 6 forwards and top 4 defensemen has played more than 1 full 82 game season within the last 4 years. The most injury prone and brittle team in the league. They roll top 6 bottom 6 which doesn't help with their best forwards are injured.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>a 2nd and a 3rd is a lot to give up for a guy who got 15 minutes of ice time per last year and put up 29 points and 12 goals. Especially considering he did like no PK time, and got amost 58% of his starts in the Ozone.
He's just not worth all that. You got better luck finding better production out of a 2nd round pick than that. At his age it's no longer where you are drafted and more what you have done with it. And he hasn't done anything with it.</div></div>
Why does it matter if Roslovic played the PK or not? Pens and Jets have many good penalty killers.
Also when you take into account the games Roslovic missed, its fair to assume that would have been a 35 point season roughly and he's still young...
Your assessment on Roslovic is silly. Your essentially saying he's a bad player when he's not. How many points do you want from a 3rd liner exactly? 40-50? Thats unrealistic. 30+ is solid from a 3rd liner... so you saying he got 29 points and 10 goals so he's not good makes you look like a moron, no offense...
If you want to argue whether or not a 2nd and a 3rd is too much, then I understand. Jets want a RD for Roslovic, so an overpay might be what it would take to convince them to trade him without a RD in return.

I'd be willing to guess one of JVR, Voracek, or Ghost will be taken by Seattle. They're not in as much cap trouble as you think. Voracek and JVR are still good players and put up 20 goals almost every year. With retention they can be moved fairly easily. Ghost is one I'd be more concerned about moving.

If you knew anything about hockey and specifically skating you'd know that a big player looks slow, but actually covers equal ground to a smaller player in most cases.
What do you know by the way?
I find it funny how you pick a guy like Kopitar who is widely known for still being a very good player despite being on a bad team to make a point about an old player...
