They aren’t in a position to win so they should be acquiring draft picks for the future. They don’t need this many late firsts so maybe you take a couple of them and flip them for a young player (Dach/Newhook) style trade that Habs management seems to like.</div></div>
totally agree ... if you move Savard, and i am not sure they do, and you move Monahan i think they already have enough draft capital to make a move. 3 yrs of Goodrow is very unappealing. Especially knowing most late firsts if they make it are 3rd liners

I dont know why Habs want to take on 3 years of Goodrows contract for a late 1st. Dont see it happening
Savard easily one of the most underrated DMEN out there . He will get a 1st or 2nd on his own. Leafs could use him, badly ... when they are outside of the playoffs they will make a move and D will be it
Jake Allen i dont think is tradeable. If they can move him without retention, for anything, I dont know why they wouldnt
Monahan/Kovacevik for a first seems light. Contrary to whats out there , i think Habs get a 1st for Monahan and i think they can arguably get a 2nd for Kovacevik. I might be wrong but time will tell
Having said all that, Habs have 48 guys under contract, and 22 picks over the next 2 years so i am guessing picks arent the priority

Goalies never get traded for a package like that. Last time i can remember a quality G being traded was Schneider from Canucks ... and he fetched a 9 OA that was it. He wasnt a 30 year old UFA G. It isnt happening for anything close to that anywhere

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Missouri</b></div><div>I never said anything about Habs funs bud. Your putting words into my mouth that were never said. Call me a delusional fan all you want, but I'm not the one comparing Anderson to McDavid here. Get real man. “Cmon give your head a ****ing shake” - Quote from PT</div></div>
Description
I've seen so many ACGM threads of people wanting to trade "Anderson to Pittsburgh for Rakell++"
Those are your words BUD and now you toss in McDavid out of nowhere ... like i said , delusional ... and you can add forgetful

from a Habs fans perspective, i agree with the post above , Leafs should be most concerned about their Defense and their Goaltending. If i am Habs, i am seriously considering resigning Monahan. Late firsts arent really all that enticing. I dont know why teams dont trade them more often

Easy Answer > In my opinion, No
In depth answer is these are our current wingers > Hoffman, Armia , RHP, Caufield, Anderson , Gallagher , Slaf and potentially Dach. That's 8 and i dont see Goodrow as being much better or worse than half the habs wingers
If anything it would be a bad contract for a bad contract

Everything you suggest makes sense. I also can envision a T. Hall to Colorado for Newhook and pick . Hall would be a good short term replacement for Landeskog

i have to say, trading Hall to the Avs makes alot of sense. Fills Landeskog spot for the AVS, clears cap space for the Bs. Bs need to rebuild so why not Hall for Newhook and a 3rd rd pick

The great balancing act
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensman69</b></div><div>Imo Josh Anderson does not fit the “Panthers-esk” style of hockey for what they are trying to achieve. Panthers like to play a game reliant on turnovers, transition, speed, physical 2 way game, Anderson plays better in more of a set up offense, establish puck possession, and T up from his said spots.
That being said Reinhart has fit well with Florida and if they do decide to move him I can’t see it being for a guy like Josh Anderson. I’d imagine they go for maybe a younger forward or a top 4 dman who can immediately bring some help to their defense?
Moving Montour isn’t the answer either. In fact, moving your playoff MVP (sure Tkachuk earns the right to that argument too) is probably not the best idea going forward? He is coming off of the best season of his career and he’s fit in like a glove on that blue line. Get him a solidified top 4 dman instead of an aging Marc Staal and the possibilities are endless.</div></div>

You obviously haven't watched him play. He plays North South , Drive the net and btw he's played on the PK in Montreal. MSL is trying to make him expand his game so he is starting to curl at the blue line but thats not his game at all. He would actually fit the Chip and Chase Panthers to a tee ... but Habs are already tiny so why would they trade him

Trades both for two 1sts and a top5 goal scorer in the league that has shown more grit and timely scoring in 1 playoff year than both these guys in 2 years.</div></div>
if he wants to share ideas, I don't have a problem with it ( no matter how ridiculous) ... if he wants to act like he knows it all when someone else posts , well, I felt it needed his response back, with spelling mistakes included

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Black61</b></div><div>Ya your math is waaaaaaay off. It might be 7 percent over the full 7 rounds but 7 percent of 32 is 2.24</div></div>
it seemed low to me .. quick verification shows you're correct but the point still remains. Taking a quick look, the first round looks like its is close to 70% avg . play 200 + NHL games but most are 3rd or 4th liners. Back half of the 1st round you get mostly Jared McCanns, Ryan Poehlings, Kapanens, Scherbak and the occasional Pastrnak. I would never trade an above average NHLer ( top 4 D or top 6 F ) for a late 1st rounder unless i had to

Have you ever looked into how many 1st round picks play over 200 games in the NHL ?
7 % .. thats SEVEN % ... of those most are drafted in the top 5.
Mid range first round pick is usually a 3rd liner.
You think its a good idea to trade an established 1st pairing Dman for that ....
