of course they will. no one, and i quite literally mean no one, has been walked to UFA off their entry deal.

Labanc for Bertuzzi
Yeah I think 2 seconds is a good starter, that might be enough to get Labanc. If anything else is added, it would be a lower class prospect or player. Maybe a deal like Zacha and a 2nd.

Labanc for Bertuzzi
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Paatre</b></div><div>Actually, if I were a Detroit fan even I wouldn't like to see this trade happen. Bertuzzi is an intriguing player. Those kind of players don't grow in trees. But his skill set and what he brings on the ice would be perfect in the Sharks.</div></div>
This is the third time I've seen that same argument in the last month. It's why Detroit isn't letting him go. He fits in very well with Larkin and Mantha.

Hall wants out THREAD
The report was that he's not willing to sign <em>as of now</em>, not that he wants out so let's slow our roll here. It's also from Pagnotta who isn't a very reliable source.
If he truly does want out, then I think it's pretty crazy. He has a great center with Hischier already and likely Hughes in the future. Things are looking up for New Jersey, but I can't entirely blame him if he does want out. Nashville would be a great fit for him IMO.

San Jose Sharks signed Lean Bergmann (3 Years / $925,000 AAV)
from the CBA, section 10.1 "Unrestricted Free Agents," subsection (d), "Draft-Related Unrestricted Free Agents," sub-subsection (i): <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>Any Player <strong>not eligible for claim in any future Entry Draft</strong> pursuant to this Agreement and not on a Club's Reserve List shall be an Unrestricted Free Agent. Further, any Player eligible for claim in the Entry Draft, but who was unclaimed, shall be an Unrestricted Free Agent subject to the provisions of Section 8.9(b).</div>
Bergmann is ineligible for the draft because, from the CBA, section 8.4, "Eligibility for Claim": <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>(a) All Players age 18 or older are eligible for claim in the Entry Draft, except:
[...]
(iv) a Player <strong>age 21 or older</strong> who: (A) has not been selected in a previous Entry Draft and (B) played hockey for <strong>at least one season in North America when he was age 18, 19, or 20</strong> and shall be eligible to enter the League as an Unrestricted Free Agent pursuant to Article 10.1(d)</div>
Bergmann played in the USHL for a couple of years. he also counts as 21 years of age for the purposes of this section because, from section 8.10, "Age of Players": <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quote:</div>As used in this Article, [...]"age 21" means a Player reaching his twenty-first birthday by <strong>December 31 in the calendar year of the Entry Draft</strong></div>
Bergmann will, indeed, be 21 by the time December 31, 2019 rolls around, so he counts as age 21 for the purposes of the 2019 draft and is thus ineligible, per Section 8.4(a)(iv). this thus makes him a Draft-Related Unrestricted Free Agent, per Section 10.1(d)(i).

Move on
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Paatre</b></div><div>Maybe, but not that much more. Donskoi getting a contract between $2.9M-$3,4M, Labanc between $3,9M-€4,5M and Myers between $5,5M-€6,5M. Of course I'd like to see these players getting full pays, but there's no cap room for that. But I still think these contracts are fair. Not too much underpayment. I can see Myers getting the biggest pack of bucks as a UFA.</div></div>
I agree with you 100% I think the ranges that you stated are good

No they wont, he's pretty right on the money for what I believe all these players will get. Labanc is more than likely getting a bridge right at the 3-4 mil range, Donskoi didn't score a goal for like 30 plus games in the end of the season and was getting healthy scratched so I doubt he gets a raise, Meier is the player they definitely will sign long term and I don't see him getting more than the 5-6.5 mil range

Boeser is a stud. Van isnt moving him.
That said, Kane to Van is not completely impossible other than dougie would be hesitant to trade within the division. Also, no chance in hell eriksson comes to SJ. 6M per for 4 years is a complete albatross. Kane adds some value, so that would make no sense for the sharks.
Maybe Dougie could target a guy like Virtanen in a kane trade. Maybe Kane for Virtanen straight up. Sharks drop nearly 6M in salary and get a 22 year old who scored 15 goals and has some potential. Vancouver gets a 30 goal scorer signed to a reasonable deal playing in his hometown.

I don't think the value is far off like everyone is implying. Labanc is a very good and very underrated player. 2 good players for 1 good player and Loui. Would definitely be a blockbuster and a bit hard to process, but it seems fair to me.

If I'm Doug Wilson in SJ, I think I'd rather have E. Kane and Labanc for the next 5+ years instead of Boeser and Eriksson. Labanc is improving as fast or faster than Meier and Hertl.
Either way, neither team is looking at this deal.

Nah Donskoi will get about that, Meier will get at least a mill more, I think a bridge deal is more likely. Also why are you just casually putting 6 mill on the LTIR?

Going forward after winning Stanley Cup
Im not sure that Sharks will start slow rebuild if they win the cup, Wilson will want another, but I think it is necessary especially on blue line.
I think both Meier and Labanc will get bridge contracts, because that just how Wilson does it (like in case of Hertl/Tierney/Sorensen/Donskoi) - maybe Meier might get long term, but it depends on UFA signings and trades. Imo Pavelski gets more term and less money to make cap work.
Agree with letting Nyquist go, not worth the money he might ask (especially with that condotional pick for resigning).
Vlasic, Burns and Simek are definitely not going anywhere. If someone is gone, it will be Braun. I would trade Dell and M. Karlsson as well. Moving Dillon depends on money he will ask (3-3,5 is acceptable but makes things complicated to sign UFA). Resigning E. Karlsson might be risk, he has injury history and according to rumours wants at least 11 million, but definitely top player with his skating, hands and vision. Just needs better partner to do the physical work (like Simek lifted Burns).
Im curious which youngster will get a chance, i excpect Gambrell and maybe another signing in Europe (bottom 6 guy). I would like to see Francouz from Colorado as a backup, he is not really proven but that will make him cheaper, I heard that he wants one way contract so that might be something to make him want to come to SJS - low risk, high reward and if it doesnt work, there will be time to get better backup during season.
Nice thoughts, looking forward on that Karlsson topic.

I think Labanc will sign for a bit more as he’s been awesome in the playoffs.
I also think SJ will let Karlsson leave. They had an amazing season this year and they didn’t have him in the lineup for long stretches. Guess it comes down to whether Wilson thinks EK is worth losing a handful of really good complimentary pieces or not

Pretty fair trade imo, however i don’t think Erik will be traded, he will most likely resign for 11-12 mil but if he is traded I’d be ok with this
