Also the Coyotes have 5 defenseman and play tonight. This team is a ****ing joke. Should just return to picks to the Senators so some poor kids don't have to be hindered by that franchise.

(CGY/FLA) - Tkachuk for Huberdeau, Weegar, Schwindt
I voted fair deal as I think this makes sense for both teams.
FLA knew that they were not able to keep both Huberdeau and Weegar around, so turning both of them into a 24 year old power forward for the next 8 years is a great investment from them in the long run.
CGY doesn't have to settle on retooling after losing two of their core players, which is instantly a W for them. But they also take a huge gamble here, as both of these guys they've taken are veterans close to their 30s, and they both need to get re-signed, which is bound to get really expensive. Luckily for them both Monahan and Lucic have expiring contracts this year so keeping both of them is in theory very possible, assuming they're not pulling a Gaudreau and walking away from more money than they'd get by staying in Calgary.
Florida's win is that they get the risk free option, CGY could turn out getting more value out of this but they're taking a much bigger gamble here.

Winnipeg Jets signed Pierre-Luc Dubois (1 Year / $6,000,000 AAV)
Nice cap hit for someone of PLD's caliber, but he's proving to be NHL's answer to Ben Simmons. Quits on his team and makes excuses when he wants out, buyer beware is all I'll say.

Good deal, Carlsson’s a decent #6/7 guy and he’s still an RFA after this which means if he does good, you can keep him. Plus we might see a Carlsson-Carlson pairing

I always liked Vitek more than Sammy, but for 3.4 million a year? I agree, I'll gladly take Kuemper and Lindgren instead if that was the price on Vitek's mind.

Honestly, I would hope the Caps say no to that. Canucks should have went for this before free agency. Right now, there is not a necessary need for Miller, especially for that ridiculous price
I think right now, the Caps would offer Lap, Eller, and a conditional 2nd (goes to first if the Caps get to the Cup) - something along those lines.
While I understand this is probably underwhelming, the Caps had a massive need for a 2c. Now, they don't.
The Caps had a massive need for a winger. Now, they don't.
I just don't see the Caps giving away that much (or anything close to that). At least, I hope they don't...
