Actually that's exactly what bottom 3 D go for. Dermott, Harmonic - look at this year's trades. Holl is likely better in a different role or in a different system - but he is an NHL D, can eat minutes and play the PK. And if he plays better in a different system he can be flipped for a bit more or the same.

NJ and could Anderson help
Why would NJ trade 4 assets for Anderson? There are other of 20 goal power forwards.
Montreal would be near the cap with 12 forwards before drafting 1st overall. I don't see how this works out on either side. But Montreal could flip some of these assets for more value - but not a lot of value. It's 3 under performing forwards and a second for a middle six forward.

The Death of the Senators was greatly exaggerated
Signing Norris for 2 years makes him a FA at year 3. Better to sign him long term - even if it costs more.
I think you've made some interesting suggestions but values might be a bit off. White is a buyout candidate which puts his value at a negative. Unless there are multiple bidders - he likely has no trade value.
Konecky - likely will be a billing war so Phil may want more.
Brown and Branstrom are an interesting fit on Edmonton. Again - have to value the players a bit closer to current ability. Branstrom is borderline NHL player right now.
Marino would be a great fit but probably need more to Pitts for him. JBD and a first likely would get it done I would guess

If Ottawa Really wants to win now
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Claesson4Norris</b></div><div>The Problem with Dumba is I just don't think the money is gonna be there to keep him. Unless He's taking a pay cut from his current 6mil, I don't know that there's room for his next deal. Things get tight quick next off season, with Tkachuk, Norris, Batherson, Chabot and in this case Fiala all locked in to big money, Stützle and Zub needing big money, Sanderson's next deal looming, and still needing the money to afford your surrounding talents like Formenton, Joseph and Pinto.</div></div>
And then there's the issue of ownership uncertainty

Offseason
Interesting approach. No Liljgren?
I would likely use up the $2M remaining for another LW (instead of Clifford) and an extra depth D.
Husso and Vanecek are interesting fits, but feels low for Husso in terms of money (he played 40 games with a 919 S% last year). Vanecek seems about right, maybe a but high.

bottom 6
Maroon for a first?
Mrazek had an 888 save percentage, was injured constantly and was waived without anyone taking him. Leafs can outscore most of the season with an average goalie, but can't win with no goaltending.

What if Leafs could grab Oettinger
Well, appreciate some of the posts.
Not sure a one year success is a franchise goalie (see Dubnyk, Dipeitro, Lack, Schneider). And looking at Dallas, they are either headed towards a retooling or a full rebuild that will take them likely through most of Oettinger's prime. But maybe Nylander and a late first isn't enough to compensate for the fan base.
D wins championships. Every year. Elite goalie and good D are essential. I don't see Heiskanen can provide the kind of D that offsets the rest. (Look at Reilly and TO D).
Retooling is a challenge with Benn and Pavelski aging out, a decent but not elite D, young scorers but challenging depth. Retool put them 2 years from contention in my estimate.
If Dallas retools, they can move Seguin, Benn, Pavelski, Oettinger for top young talent to rebuild. But that just my amateur assessment

Gotta change something
Great line up but that's way under the asking price for Chychurn which was a young player, a top end prospect and a First. So Likely Nylander + gets Chychurn (the plus because of the added contract size). To get Crouse would take more than SDA and to move Mrazek's contract is likely two 2nds or a first (Marleau took a first to move 1 year of his contact worth less than the two left on Mrazek's). But that is all dependent on a team taking on salary despite moving to a 5k seat arena with minimal revenue prospects.
Canucks looking for 3-4 assets back for Miller who they didn't want to move previously. They supposedly turned down a 1st, a prospect who was a frost round pick and a depth forward in Chtyl (NYR). Rangers were not offering any of their top talent. If Nylander was gone, they would have to offer a lot. Canucks would likely ask about Bunting +.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>draft_em_sign_em_trade_em</b></div><div>Well Joe Thornton will retire, that'll free up cap space.</div></div>
Yes, they only have $4 M in cap space and lots of FA / RFAs. If nothing changes, they will be hard pressed. But there were lots of teams on that spot last year and still lots of surprise moves - Fleury for example. Still seems.more likely he goes back to the East Coast or to a contender than Ottawa. Ottawa needs to build a D core, add scoring and change its goaltending to get close to competing.

The rational for Giroux coming to Ottawa is that he is from here, there is cap space, and Ottawa could use a player like him.
Giroux has said he could see himself staying in Florida. He hasn't had a deep playoff run in 13 years.

God apparently has a sense of humour.
Gaudreau has a higher take home salary in Calgary just because of taxes by about $100k. In Florida he would clear $800k more. I would guess if he is going for a discount it would be in southern US.
Every other teams GMs would take these deals. And likely they would deter any hockey player from signing in Philly. Trading a top scoring winger, a first, a top D, to get back role players and sign one player? Maybe it works out - but probably not.

If Toronto will wait for him
Only red flag for me is the Lucic factor. Wilson is 28, has played nearly 750 games in the NHL and had several stints on the injured list. He plays very physical and that takes a toll and could mean a steep drop off in play in the next few years. Lucic signed at 28 with Edmonton - he had one 20+ goal season and then a drop off in play

Nylander Trades I Would Accept
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>Because he has way way way more value than nylander. Do you think other GMs don’t watch?</div></div>
Well....maybe. it really depends what you value. Thompson had an amazing season...but only 1. There are lots of players with one good season. Nylander has multiple seasons at 20+, two over 30 and was a point per game player even with playing third line minutes at times. They play different games with Thompson being a big guy and Nylander is a speed and skill.
But I don't see how moving Thompson for Nylander makes an impact on Buffalo at or more than Thompson.
If Thompson was a contract hold out this trade makes a lot of sense all of a sudden.

In depth analysis of every move Read DESCRIPTION
Couple things I would mention
1) Breaking up Marner and Matthews might make both of those players upset.
2) Move Tavares to the wing when he is a good faceoff and two-way player isn't a great solution
3) If there is a good team culture and dynamic, this level of shake up with break that and they will need a new culture
4) Lack of depth has killed the Leafs - in particular at D and goal. Moving Muzzin and getting Stolartz doesn't make it any better.
Leafs went to the last game with TB this year - who is likely headed to the Cup for the third year in a row. Tampa lost in 4 straight in the first round before winning the cup a few years ago. Leafs are closer to TB in 2019 than not. They don't need a tear down, they need depth. You did it on the offence but not the D or G.

A lot different values in these trades. I think you were aiming for equal value but that's not what the Leafs need. They don't need 2nd and 3rd round picks. They need 30+ goal scorers who compliment others on the team or two players who would combine for equal value.
If they lose others like Kase, Mikheyev, Engvall they will need to make up those goals as well.
Leafs need a bigger and better D, maybe more grit up front. But players that fit the bill aren't available (Jeannot, Wilson, Perry, etc)

So Nylander is arguably better than Miller, but assuming they are the same - it's Robertson, Holl, Clifford for Schenn and Pearson?
I am sure Schenn who's promising career crashed on TO will LOVE that. Is Robertson the price for taking a near minimum contract in Clifford?

My Realistic Off-Season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GRIFFIN95</b></div><div>His contract is so unpredictable. He was lights out for 2 months, then terrible for a while, then decent for the last couple weeks + playoffs. Somewhere between 3.5 - 4 is what i would give him personally.</div></div>
I suspect Campbell was battling an injury or issue - which the Leafs management would know about. Campbell is a good goalie in a nearly empty FA year. Not signing him means a trade to a riskier option. Campbell isn't Vasilevskiy but he delivered when it mattered in the playoffs. Leafs problem has been people who don't deliver then. Campbell should get re-upped unless he gets a $6M+ deal elsewhere. Price will dictate if he leaves. Then the Leafs need to consider bigger moves. I would hope by now Dubas has learned that you don't wing it with your #1 goalie. Championship teams and Cup contenders all have reliable elite goaltending - Price, Vasilevskiy, Fleury, Holtby, Bishop - all were Vezina candidates in those years.

Well, you definitely named it right.
These moves are somewhat confusing. Get older and younger at the same time. Benn's contract won't age well in the later years. This is a win now but without enough pieces to win. This team still gets beat by Florida, Tampa and Toronto.

Mikheyev on the Sens is an interesting fit. I think he'll want more than 3rd line and 4M to sign.
Norris will likely command $6M+.
Can't see Kadri wanting to come to Ottawa unless he is getting a better deal than anywhere else (he'll get better offers - Ontario teams have the highest tax rates so $7M in Florida is significantly more money than $7M in Ottawa).

Interesting take. D is better than it started last year but not sure Roy is a #1-2D. Art of the possible and best fit likely.
That third line is .... Interesting. Robertson, Domi, Sheary - I can't see how that line gels. Domi is a less useful Kerfoot, Robertson needs someone to send the puck to - he's another Marner. Not sure these players compliment each other very well. Better to have an universal 3rd (all hard hitters, all PK, or all speed, etc.)
And the Capt relegated to the wing? I am offended on your behalf

The threat for Tavares is we will pay you money not to play here, and you can go get another contract elsewhere doubling your money without being told where to play.
I think every team would say yes - all those players can garner more when flipped. See Hoffman, Mike.
