The bigger problem is the 22 million spent on RD....wow, if you are signing Petro, Petry has to go...

With Price making 10.5,signing any competent back up is going to make the overall goalie cost look bad. Greiss's contract only has one year left. We can afford it this year but the goalie cost are always going to look bad

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SkatinTintin</b></div><div>The line that sucks the most is Drouin Suzuki Armia. The best driver of offense on that line is Armia. Drouin usually worsens every line he plays on and Suzuki might be good defensively, but not enough to carry Drouin around.
They'll start it against Tor, but I'm almost certain that when the game ends, Drouin is down to either the 3rd or the 4th line.</div></div>
Depends if we get the beginning of the season Drouin or the end of season Drouin but he is certainly a wild card at best. Apparently that line has looked really good at mini camp but I agree they will have a short leash!

Certainly some questionable moves here.....
Personally I would have the lines as follows:
Tatar Danault Gallagher
Drouin Suzuki Armia
Domi KK Byron
Lehkenon Weal Weise
Chairot Weber
Kulak Petry
Mete One of (Folin, Juulsen, Fleury) which ever has preformed best in mini camp
Price

A conditional 2021 1st is not getting you Domi....period! You are not dealing from a position of strength, Montreal does not need to trade Domi, worst case scenario is they sign him to a 1 year deal and move the decision to next off season. I agree that the 8th OA is a little rich for Domi straight up but I do feel that Domi + 2020 2nd(STL) = Buffalo's 2020 1st (8OA)

question to blues fan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BluesBandit</b></div><div>I’ll preface this with the fact that the scenario where we trade Dunn is less likely than us letting Petro walk. I think STL would want to move up in the draft to restock the prospect pool, but also a replacement. I’d propose, depending on who’s available at #9, Dunn, Blais, and our 2020 1st for Mete, Poehling and your 2020 1st.</div></div>
Montreal is not going to get pinched into overpaying to a team in cap hell. If you want our first you will need to pay, take out Blais whom we have zero need for and add Thomas, also add Allen and we will add an additional 2020 3rd (WSH) and Ylonen and just to even it out I would also send back your 2020 2nd(STL) ...so it would be Dunn + Thomas + Allen + 2020 1st(STL) for Mete + Poehling + Ylonen + 2020 1st (MTL) + 2020 2nd (STL) + 2020 3rd(WSH)

Yeah no big names with the Goaltending but Kuemper had great numbers this year. I figured the D could make up for any weakness. The original challenge that I saw stated that we were only suppose to use 4 ECL's I have seen a number of these with multiple ECL's but I followed the original rales, doing so you pretty much have to take Barzal and Makar, two great players and the best at their position still on an ECL IMO

Hey DET fans what exactly is on the table
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jo_Habs77</b></div><div>True.
But, I woud agree Mantha has way more to give than just points (Personnally I'd rather him over Larkin)
I would say MTL fans overvalue Domi greatly - I don't think he has a spot at centre on this team and I wouldn't blame DET fans for not being interested in him... remember he had his worst performances in that 4-0 sweep DET gave to MTL this past season...
It is interesting that DET fans seem to value KK the least? I'm guessing it's because we skipped on Zadina. But, KK had an excellent rookie season (better than Hughes and Kakko...) , playing as the youngest player in the league, then everything that could go wrong in 2019-2020 did; from his 16 pounds gained on his lanky build and his awkward camp, his early season concussion, to the spleen injury later on. He's played two seasons and he's still a teenager. He's already exceeded expectations when he was first drafted - I'm not the least bit worried.
Then, everyone seems to overvalue Caufield. He's got tremendous upside. But, he's a big wildcard, his one skill is shooting, if he can't translate that to the NHL, he'll be considered a bust.
Agreed, for this year's draft, they won't trade the 9th overall, goes without saying they won't trade the 1st.</div></div>
I don't see a long term fit for Domi either, he seems to be a better center than a winger and I would not keep him at center over Suzuki or KK, Danault is the question mark I guess, he is one of the most underrated two way players in the game but his offense is the weakest part of his game. Couple years from now he will be our 3C and with Poehling coming will we really need him? I still believe that KK has huge upside and would not trade him unless you have a true 1C coming back. I too worry about Caufield being a one trick pony. Time will tell I guess. All I'm really getting at here is that the ask for Mantha is way more than I would want to give up. The proposal you have above is an overpayment in my opinion, but often to get what you want and need especially in division you have to overpay.

All fans are bias towards their teams players, but the asking price I see on here from Detroit fans for Mantha is laughable. He has never had a 50 point season and is a minus player more often then not. Other than being big what is he? Montreal does need some size up front but this is not a player that I would give up KK or Caufield or even Domi for let alone our first this year.

I like the idea of Poehling with KK and Lehkonen. I would insert Weise instead of Hudon and I would flip Mete and Kulak, Kulak has played well when paired with Petry and Mete and Juulsen had shown some chemistry a while back.

Thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>targeting Dunn is a good move, but like the Tampa guys, its goign to be hard to convince them to sign offsheets to leave cup contending teams. You are really going to have to over pay to get them to sign it since Teams if they know they cant make the cap work to sign them will trade them before those offer sheets chances roll in. They still want to compete now and are going to take guys on their ELCs vs future draft picks in massive overpayment offserheets.
Most guys wont really care about 500k-1m in a bump of aav in a salary of an offersheet to leave for a chance of winning the cup. But if you are talking about making 10m-12m over a long term deal, then you might catch their interest
Trading for him is far more likely than offersheeting Dunn IMO</div></div>
I also agree with the trade idea vs an offer sheet.

Thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>big flaw in your plan, why would Dunn sign it in the first place.
Girard signed him 7year 5maav extension coming off a 23 point season. Dunn has simliar points in less games when girard signed that. Why would he ask for a lesser contract which he signs as an offersheet.
If you are goign to get him out of St Louis you are going to have to present an offsersheet beyond his market value and thats beyond 5m range</div></div>
I agree totally, and I also believe the thought process is right on here. We should target Dunn for sure but as you say the offer sheet is probably going to need to be 5.75 million per year on a 5 year deal. If they match they match if they don't we get a great young LD to play in out top pair right away not 2,3 or even 4 years from now.

I don't think this trade idea is that far off and with Romanov coming Mete could be moved. I would probably take this offer from Montreal's side. Three decent pieces going back to SJ, if they don't want the Alzner contract (Which I completely understand then leave him out and Montreal holds onto Ylonen or the 2020 2nd(CHI) )

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ajp_18</b></div><div>Umm durability issues? Anderson has only missed more then 10 games injured once in his career and that was this year.
Value is determined on what people would be willing to pay for someone. Columbus doesn’t want to pay for what you’re offering and we don’t want to move what you want. So the value for Columbus isn’t even close. League wide it might be close, but for Columbus it’s really not, there’s no interest in what you’re giving us.</div></div>
I clearly stated that I understand that these two players are not what you are looking for, the point I was trying to make was you had said that it the trade wasn't even close.... I am saying the value is there...thats all

Now lets be fair the value is there but the players aren't what you need. To be honest I wouldn't make this trade from Montreal's side. It is an over payment for a player with durability questions. I understand that these players are not filling any of Columbus's needs but the value is more than fair
