Home town boy Gallagher To Edmonton
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Blazingbat11</b></div><div>You would have to think MTL considers this deal long and hard. I just don't see them moving Gally, period. In a fantasy world, well thought! Realistically, I think Habs say no.</div></div>
Well I can say if I was GM of Montreal I’d defeinley do that trade. I’m not saying that cause I’m an Oilers fan at all either. You gotta look at it this way, if they do the trade it’s not like they won’t have scoring depth up front. Drouin, Domi, Tatar, Koktanemi would all still be there and that’s just off the top of my head. Plus any other forwards they sign in the off-season or get in free agency. Who do they have have left D?? Jordie Benn and Karl Alzner?? Benn is 31 and a UFA and not a top pairing Dman. Do we really need to say how the Alzner situation is going?? Montreal needs Klefbomb and Webber that top line. Plus Klef is only 24. I’d do that trade all day if I was Montreal.

NO way L.A. does that..
Dumb would cost Nurse, NO WAY 2 that..[/quote
Ya I think the Klefbomb, Gallagher trade is fair. Why wouldn’t LA do that? So they can keep Kovalchuk watching from the seats upstairs for 6mill for 2 more seasons?? Lucic sucks don’t get me wrong but he had a 20 goal season with the Kings not to long ago and still healthy. Plus they get a good young prospect in Bear, and a 3rd round pick. I don’t think they are getting much better then that for a 36 year old Kovalchuk. A lot of people would say I’m giving up to much there and I probably am but Lucic has been a train wreck in Edmonton and they need skill wingers who can skate in a top 6 role IF Kovalchuk can even do that at the NHL level again is still yet to be seen. Still a gamble for Edmonton.</div></div>

Montreals Defence needs a top pairing lefty. Plus they ain’t getting any younger either. I think they would do this trade for sure. Both players are on good contracts as well.

Hamilton Nylander Ferland Lucic back to Boston
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jayhus</b></div><div>The Problem with getting a player like Simmonds is he is just another player like Lucic who does not have a long term future with McDavid. You want a player who is around the same age group so that they can be in their prime with McDavid and is also locked up at a reasonable cap hit for his prime years. Also, Larsson, Caleb Jones and a 1st from Oilers for Nylander and Brown would only get the conversation started with the Leafs. It would require more from Oilers to get that trade done. Oilers get a 1st line Winger for McDavid and a 3rd Line winger who can also play anywhere up the line up when needed. Also Nurse straight up for Nylander is a stupid scenario because that ****s up oilers long term and also because him alone is not worth Nylander. You would still need to send a 3rd round pick or a B level prospect back. But either way he is not what the Leafs need so hence that trade would never happen.</div></div>
I didn’t know the trade was for Nylander AND Brown, that changes a lot of things. I’m not sure if the Leafs would wanna lose both those guys but if they got Marner and Kapanen maybe?? Hard to say

Nylander for 1st round pick 2019 and package Dzingel free agency
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Your lineup is short three players. IMO Nylander is moved by the Leafs for cap reasons. But the Oilers....despite being a non playoff really don't have cap space to take him.</div></div>
Bettman reported that the Cap is going up to 83 mill next season, Oilers will have around 10 mill in cap space to start next season if it goes up that much. Nylanders cap hit is 6.9 starting next season so they can fit him in for sure.

Nylander for 1st round pick 2019 and package Dzingel free agency
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skyraider112</b></div><div>Not nearly enough for Nylander. Benning is useless, Pul is a massive bust. The 1st is meaningless to Toronto, they don't need more picks. Start with a defenseman, either Larsson or Nurse and then add a middle six forward like Yama. IMO you could pull off a Klefbom for Nylander 1 for 1 but I doubt Edmonton does that</div></div>
Edmonton can’t trade Larsson right now, they got no other RIghty who can come close to being a top 4 Dman. Plus look at what they gave up to just to get him. I’m guessing Nylander has to go with the cap issues coming up plus his whole contract hold out situation doesn’t help. Toronto won’t want another high cap hit coming back with the trade, they just can’t afford it with the cap situation now. Paying Marner, Kapenen is the priority, 2 guys who can very easily fill the spot of Nylander being gone. They got Kadri at 3rd line centre so don’t need Willy for that either. He’s the odd man out and Edmonton REALLY needs a good young forward who can grow with the forward core of Connor Leon Nuge Nylander.

Nylander for 1st round pick 2019 and package Dzingel free agency
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ItWasIn</b></div><div>I wonder if there’s a blockbuster to be had between Toronto and Edmonton.
There were rumours last week of Khaira and Benning for Brown. That helps EDM a bit but why not expand upon that? Would EDM add Larson for one of Toronto’s wingers, Kapanen or Johnsson? If they took on Zaitsev would that get Toronto to include Nylander? Maybe add Kassian to the deal too in that case for some toughness on the 4th line</div></div>
Ya there’s a lot that can happen for sure but Toronto’s first priority is obviously resigning Marner. Also Kapenin and Johnsson. Everyone knows that is NOT going to be a cheap contact for Marner. Toronto needs cap space and with that deal it opens up lots of cap room and they get a very high draft pick and a solid prospect in return. Benning is a decent 6 or 7 Dman and still really young and a righty for cheap.

Hamilton Nylander Ferland Lucic back to Boston
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jonesryan</b></div><div>Nylander is way better than any winger in free agency and can also play centre. Any deal would start with Larsson and a 1st. Guaranteed. Leafs don't need Nurse. He'd be a nice addition for the physical side, but they need a righty. Even though they're most likely losing Gardiner, they still have Rielly, Muzzin, Dermott, Rosen, and Sandin who are all lefties.. the left hand side is already stacked. The need for a right handed shot puts Larsson at the front of the list and a 1st and a prospect along with that is certainly not out of the question. Nylander is one of the best Leafs in terms of possession and controlling play</div></div>
I agree Nylander is better then any winger available in free agency but like I said he’s not worth Larsson, 1st round pick and Jones. Better off getting a player that would just cost the oilers nothing but money like Simmonds then lose all that. Nurse is better then all those guys you mention for the LD depth except Reily and is only 23 and on a cheap contract. Muzzin is already having a rough go as a leaf and is older. He was just brought in for the playoffs, he would still be a good bottom pairing D but I think Nurse is in the top 4 right away and is an answer to the D for the Leafs for the future. Muzzin only has 1 more year left on his deal then they would be looking for another Dman again. Riellly, Nurse, Muzzin is a solid left line. The main reason the trade makes sense is cause the Leafs NEED cap space. Trading Nylander and getting a cap hit coming back won’t happen. I think the trade works for both teams but I’m not sending all that away just for Nylander. It’s a fair trade 1 for 1 and Edmonton isn’t getting as hosed as it did for Hall for Larsson.

Hamilton Nylander Ferland Lucic back to Boston
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jayhus</b></div><div>1) Even with 3 Million retained Boston would not take lucic back for 5 more years. You're stuck with him unless he gets bought out.
2) Ottawa does not need benning or want benning so why give up a draft pick? Benning is not worth more than a 6th or 7th round pick from a playoff team.
3) Leafs would hang up as Nurse is not what they need (he's a left handed defenseman) also, that trade is almost as bad as Hall for Larsson in terms of the leafs perspective. Swap Nurse with Larsson, 2019 1st round pick and Caleb Jones for Nylander and Brown
4) Oilers GM would be fired for this.</div></div>
That is WAY to much to give for Nylander, Oilers are better off getting wingers from free agency then give all of that. Nurse is a better player then Larsson, younger, faster, and is having a WAY better season. Just cause he’s a lefty doesn’t mean Leafs wouldn’t want him. They are losing Gardiner who is also a lefty. On top of all of that, Leafs need to sign Marner AND Kapenin, who both play the same wing position as Nylander. They need cap space more then anything. I’m guessing they would want Nurse cause his cap hit is only 3.2 mill.
