<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>Radulov's contract is luckily expiring this year so he's not going to be a "burden" for long. He was good, but he's clearly past his prime.

Klingberg situation is interesting. He's been a part of our core for over half a decade now, as it's natural he'd expect to get the same treatment as Benn and Seguin did in terms of their contracts, which were handed out to them immediately after the last year of it started. But with Klingberg they realized that A) Seg's and Benn's contracts are mistakes that started to hurt them before long and B) they need that money to ink our younger (and now better) talent in Heiskanen and Hintz in the past and now with Robertson and Oettinger this coming offseason. Klingberg, quite naturally, took this a bit personally, thinking that he's not appreciated enough to get signed with big money contract. At the end of the day Klingberg wants to commit somewhere for the rest of his career, but DAL also needs him this year for the playoff run, and Klingberg still seems to want to stay in Dallas. I think he'll end up as our own rental, but there are no winners in this situation where they've ended up. Only losers.

As for trading Faksa...I like the guy and what he brings to our bottom-6, but he's too expensive for the role. I'd be open to move him.</div></div>

Well put with Klingberger. It seems hes destined to get overpaid wherever he goes. Its hard to take a discount when Benn and Seguin didn't get them.

Faska and Radulov being traded would really spice up this deadline.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jimmyjets</b></div><div>Interesting ideas and obviously gave it some thought but that is<strong> a lot</strong> of money tied up on D.

In my view what this team needs to do is actually turn the keys over to the kids and run JMo, Samberg and Heinola on left D and also trade a Right D to open up a spot for Kovacevic.

I'd rather keep Stanley as the 7th Dman then trade him for a 2nd round pick. He's huge so I want to see what happens over the next 2 years.

This means we can move Dillon out (although I really like him) and one of DeMelo, Schmidt or Pionk and replace them with ELCs (a cap savings of $4M to $7M depending on who is moved.

Then we can take those cap savings and bring in another top 6 forward with a year or 2 left on their deal.

Run

Perfetti 55 Ehlers
KFC PLD Svech
New guy Lowry Wheeler
Harkins Gus Vesalainen
Toninato - Nathan Smith

JMo - Schmidt
Samberg - Pionk
Heinola - Kovacevic
Stanley</div></div>

I would love to play all the young guys they look soo promising, love samberger. But that kinda commits you to a mini re-tool, if im doing that i'm trading statsny and that's it.

I can agree with the Stanley move, i can proabaly squeeze them in the cap and also agree thats its probably a good idea to keep him for a couple years to see what he becomes. I just didnt want him sitting around.

Im going for something that spices things up, risky and all that. But realistically these GM's are super boring. Honestly for some reason I feel they need to make moves at this deadline to keep the cup hopes alive for the next couple years. Not jsut a rental they have to do something that jsut fits like a glove and puts these guys in positions for them to suceed. Sorry to say but the Jets lean on Morrisey and Pionk way too much.

Also Dillon is there best d-man statically for goals for on 5v5. So tough to trade but i feel Lindholm could be a massive help. Would love to get Lindholm and shed Schmidt but that seems so unrealistic and Jets need a righty. No idea who would be interested in Schmidt.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>Islanders trade doesn't make a ton of sense to me, from the Winnipeg side. Stanley is a young, cost-controlled LD at this point in his career - he's had some NHL experience and has actually been a pretty solid play drive with Dylan DeMelo at even strength (they're getting 53% of chances, 55.2% of shots, and outscoring opponents 9-5 at ES). I think a 2nd is fair-ish value for his play so far, but he's also only 23 and signed to a reasonable deal ($900K next season). I think he's better than Erik Gustafsson, who you basically have taking over his roster spot here.

Comrie is also probably more valuable to Winnipeg than the Islanders, so it's weird to trade him. You have Tokarski signing for $750K, the same dollar amount Comrie is getting this year (and would probably re-sign for close to next year) and is putting up fine numbers this year (2.47 GAA, .914 SV%, 1.4 GSAA in 9 starts.) When you have Hellebuyck, you really don't need to devote a ton of assets to that backup tender, and I think Comrie has developed into a fine player to fill that spot, rather than an AHL/NHL tweener like Tokarski.</div></div>

If i can get Comrie on the Cheap i keep him. He seems to be playing pretty good so im wondering if he is looking for a pay day I dont want to give him. Saying you wouldm't trade Stanley and Comrie for CRUZ LUCIUS!!!!:tearsofjoy ya not great could probably do much more there. I don't like Stanley possibly not playing which is why i tossed him away cuz I want Heinola playing full time. If Comrie re-signs for around that then yes im-resigning him. I was also thinking about asking for a Dal Colle or someone with random upside coming back from the Islanders.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MisstheWhalers</b></div><div>It does need more size I agree about that but their forward talent is REALLY lacking outside of four or five guys.

They only have four true top 6 talent, their bottom six is bad and contributes next to nothing on the scoresheet which is what really kills them. Wheeler is at best a 3rd liner now yet plays 20 minutes a game, they gain the offensive zone yet almost never accomplish much, their high danger chances really aren't that dangerous, the forward group needs a big overhaul.

The best dmen aren't making this forward group much better then they already are, the Jets get about 32% of their offense from their dmen which is 3rd in the league, their dmen aren't their problem.</div></div>

Sorry im not trying to undersell their depth issues. If cap goes up I can sign someone at $2M to help a bit or trade Demelo and do something there. They defiantly lean on their top guys too much, But I do think when Healthy, and if big guys play consistent the top 6 should be fine. Wheeler def a 3rd liner but good on the powerplay and i say the same thing about the Jets, they do alot of stuff but its either and extra pass or not or whatever you can think of. How Morrisey and Pionk Effect the play with their awareness and decision making is what worries me, it doesnt turn out very well too many time. Though Pionk has been alot more consistent and reliable. But they gotta take some weight off their shoulders cuz they aint close to #1 d-men that they are attempting to do right now. They are side guys! Dont put complement D-men with them. Maybe Pionk on the second line with a complement guy like Dillon is fine but Morrisey at the least needs someone dope to play with.
