I was looking for any moves that shreds cap space. I am curious why you said Tinordi's $900,000 salary " he doesnt affect the cap". This is a serious question because I am in know way an expert on how the cap works. My thinking about Tinordi's $9k cap hit was in order to dump salary without taking a contract back. The reason I put Lundkvist in this deal was Anaheim has the Cap Space to absorb Tinordi's $900K
and Lundkvist"s $925k but the only way Anaheim is going to take Tinordi's contract is with a sweetener. I disagree that Lundkvist will still fetch a #1 Pick straight up. Maybe as a part of a package but not 1 for 1. The other reason I put Lundkvist in this trade is the he is not necessarily the clear cut #1 RD prospect in the NYRs pipe line. People were comparing him to Adam Fox, which is unfair but he should never have been in the NHL last season. He may have a great Hockey IQ, but his body was not mature enough for the NHL. I give him credit, he never shied away from contact, but he was getting hammered physically, but unlike Fox, he was unable to avoid being hit. So as I said I put Tinordi in the trade to dump his $900k cap hit (unless I am wrong, which is why I asked why he doesn't count against the cap) I put Lundkvist as a sweetener that would also take another $925k off the cap. Giving a combined cap savings of $1,825,000. That savings gets you Tyler Motte and possibly another low cost player. Again I am assuming Anaheim would want a NHL or close to an NHL player to take Tinordi's $900k. Maybe they would take someone other than Lundkvist. Maybe I am under valuing him. Again, I proposed this trade as a pure salary dump. The other reason I put Lundkvist in is the NYRs will probably not be making any BIG MOVES in the next 2 years because of salary issues. They will get Kakko signed to a 2 year $2- $2.5milion sometime in the next couple of weeks. Than next year they will re-sign Miller, Lafrenière, AND Chytil.
I also don't see the NYRs Buying out Ryan Reaves. IMO the roughly $500k they would save isn't worth it. They will keep him around for certain games. Besides his presence in the locker room is worth it for 1 more year.
Thanks for the feedback. I disagree with you as far as Lundkvist's value, but other than that, I have no real issues with what you have written.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wildcard</b></div><div>Agree. Liek why even put Tinordi in that deal? They wont wont him, he doesnt affect the cap. And from all reports he is like an extra coach in Hartford with the younger players. And a 2nd rounder? LOL Yeah no. Nils will go for more than that. if its a single pick its a first rounder, and not from a contender who will have a low pick, but a team someplace in the middle 10 of the first round as a likely landing spot with top 10 protection or something.</div></div>

Some Trades
1) I'm not a real big fan of Vesey but they signed him for 2 years to see if he'll be part of the future or not. Personally I don't see the NYR making this deal.
2) Adam McQuaid alone will probably fetch a 3rd rounder at best at the deadline. I also think the Penguins don't want to give up many picks because they're going to need to start hoarding picks so they can start developing their next go around. Not saying they wont trade picks at all. Obviously they will do what they need to go for it this year.
3) I love Zuccarello but I'm not sure of his trade value. I think he may be worth a #1 Pick if the other team really think he can put them over the edge. Any time the Rangers and CBJ are mentioned there is the Panarin effect. I personally don't think the NYR should trade for him unless they can get him for an unbelievably cheap package. With that said, Panarin says he wants to come to NYR. I doubt CBJ gives up Their #1 pick to the team most likely to acquire there best player in the off season. Again I'm not sure if Zuc is worth a #1 Pick or not. Time will tell. As far as Milano, the NYR;s have a bunch of players who are AHL players. I don't see them having much interest.
4) I am not a big fan of Spooner so I make this trade for Hudon but do not retain any salary.
5) NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN, NEVER!!! Biggest reason is Neither GM Gorton or GM Larmiello will take the chance they traded a kid who becomes a star for the other team. Also Ho-Sang, is nothing but an AHL player who gets called up in case of injury. Linddgren is one of the NYR Top Defensive prospects.
6) While I would love to add a prospect like Owen Tippett to my prospect pool I cant make this trade right now. Neil Pionk has been the NYR's Top D-Man they have. His Time on Ice has been higher then anyone else on the team. He plays in all situations. And now that we're seeing Tony DeAngelo getting an honest shot and doing well I think the Rangers MIGHT (Along with Skjei) have found 3 young D-Men to start the process of the rebuild.
7) If I'm NY I make this trade in a NY minute. However I personally think any trade between NY & Winnipeg has to include JACOB TROUBA going to NY.

That's the order of talent for them. But Geo is their future after Hank, and the other 3 is average so I wouldn't take any of them for Nylander.[/quote
This trade does absolutely nothing for Toronto. As far as Geogiev goes he's just a stop gap until the heir apparent, Igor Shesterkin, comes to North America.
I still think the Leafs will wait it out. Nylander isn't going go a whole year without a decent pay check this season. Also if he does or doesn't play in a top league over seas this year i think his value (his contract value) will diminish.</div></div>

I agree with BrandonMcD11▾NOT 1 of those 9 trade proposals are remotely realistic. Many cant be done simply because of NO MOVEMENT Clauses and Players Salaries not to mention all the Salary Cap issues.
These offers might fly in a Fantasy League or on X-BOX but in real life THE OTHER TEAM has to get something close in return.

2019 NYRangers
The only way NYRs should squire Panarin is as a UFA Signing. Their in the VERY EARLY stages of a TOTAL organization overhaul (RE-BUILD is just a more modern term meant to sound better then overhaul) and giving away the high quality assets it would take, even for a player of Panarin's talent, would go against their stated goals. Don't get me wrong, the Rangers should discuss a trade but I think that unless the asking price is unbelievably cheap I pass and hope Panarin truly want's to play for the Rangers, as he has stated, he will Finnish out this last year of his contract. (where ever he may be). The CBJs are in the same situation as the Islanders had with Tavares so if they can't re-sign him they have to trade him for the best offer they can get because they cant just let him walk. Ironically because of this his trade value should drop significantly and may make a trade to the Rangers possible.
If they do get him this year via an acceptable trade or as a Free Agent it will help the “Rebuild”.I just don't think he'll advance it as much as some people think.
If they Rangers don't get him then they loose nothing and keep developing their prospects which is exactly what they should be doing,

Why Not
WINNIPEG & NEW YORK RANGERS
Trouba - D for DeAngelo -D
Hayes - C
2020 #3
Winnipeg is fairly deep at center and Hayes is a UFA at the end of this season. Don't know what DeAngelo"s value will be at the end of season. It could be low or high depending on how his season ends. If he ever gets the chance to start regularly (Like soon) who knows. If he doesn't do well Winnipeg won't want him. If he somehow does really good then the Rangers wont trade him. As far as the pick, NY is hoarding them but if they can get a D-man like Trouba they would trade away pick.
Concerning Hayes & Trouba's free agency status I would think both teams would probably want to speak to the players about re-signing them. If Hayes decides to go the UFA route Winnipeg walks away. Trouba being a RFA makes this less an issue for the Rangers. In the end as a NYRs fan I take it in a NY minute
BOSTON & NEW YORK RANGERS
2019 2nd round pick (BOS) for Namestnikov,
I don't believe Boston will be trading many of their picks as they are getting older and their not going to get Namestnikov for just a 2nd rounder. I also think (I'm in the minority) Namestnikov will be in NY past this 2 year contract. Not saying he's untouchable but he's worth a lot more then a late 2nd round pick.
I would't make this trade and I doubt the Bruins & Rangers would either.
ARIZONA & NEW YORK RANGERS
LW - Lawson Crouse FOR D - Shattenkirk,
2019 1st round pick
The NYRs make this trade in a nano-second and at the same moment Arizona's GM is tared & fethered, lynched and has to go into witness protection. Fortunatly for GM John Chayka the chances of this trade happening are close to nill for a multitude of reasons. On the Arizona side the 2019 Draft is STACKED and they are currently tide for LAST PLACE. Haven't you heard the #1 NHL slogen? It goes like this:
“LOOSE FOR HUGHES”
Hell the Rangers are right behind them. Unfortunatly Ranger fans won't put up with a total tank job.
That should answer the unrealality of Arizona's #1 Pick.
As for Lawson Crouse I could see that he's struggled but he's only 21. Why give up on a kid that young? Would he be someone NY might be interested? Probably for the right price. But if im Arizona I keep trying to develop him and up his trade value. Who knows maybe he turns it around and becomes the player FLA drafted #11 Overall in 2015.
As for NY like I said i'd be very happy to make this trade a for many reasons.
1) ARI 2019 #1 Pick! I'd trade my own son for this pick. 2) 21 year old Former #1 pick. Of course I make this trade I've got nothing to loose.
Now here is the biggest reason this deal CAN NOT HAPPEN:
Kevin Shattenkirk has NO MOVEMENT CLAUSES in his contract. Do you think he's going to agree to go from one Re-Building team (his home town team) to another Re-Building team about 2500 miles
away? Doubt it.
NY wouldn't mind trading him. It fits their re-build.
That's “WHY NOT”

Have to agree with Gofnut999 on this one. I'm a NYR fan and a big fan of Kreider but I honestly don't think they can get a #1 pick for him unless some contender really is desperate down the stretch.
Boston is getting older and nearing the end of their "Cup Contention Window".
I don't believe Boston will be trading many picks or prospects this year.
Besides the Rangers first priority should be working on improving their Defense. They have a decent pool of forwards. Any major trades need to bring back at least 1 good young NHL Defenseman.

Toronto holds all the cards here. #3 in the league. #1 in their conference. The addition of Tavares minimizes the impact of Nylander's hold out. I don't see him getting any real offers because the compensation will be to high.
Unless the leafs suddenly tank (not gonna happen) they can sit back and wait him out. I don't know the Cap situation but Toronto has to plan this contract with the long term in mind.
As a NYR fan I don't think NY has any combinations that could be used to acquire Nylander

A deal which has 11 that's ELEVEN Players and that is without all the swirling around of picks contingency's is 1) NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN and 2) HELL I cant even come up with anything else to say for that proposal.
I'm not even going to try to figure out all the Salary Cap issues a trade like that would create.
When I was a young kid I relay wanted to buy a Trans Am. We went back and forth about the price with the dealer. I was getting frustrated and my dad just turn to me and said "It'll happen if its meant to happen" Eventually I got the car. My point is if the rangers can get Panarin for NOTHING as a Free Agent why waste assets? If he really wants to play here "It'll happen if it's meant to happen".
By the way for those not old enough to know a Pontiac Trans Am, Go see "SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT>

I didn't miss the point. it was my 1st time trying to do something so when I saw Nylander as a RFA I wanted to see if it was realistic this program is. Obviously not very is it took both my impossibly low ball offers and they went through. I've been around hockey for 51 years so i'd like to think I have a pretty good idea of what's fairly accurate or not.
But thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for agreeing with me. there are so many combinations. It's mind blowing. i agree with you on the defense. I don't really want my first pair D of Shatty & with Skjei but i'd rather see smith with ADA but that leaves a 3rd pair of Staal and McQuaid. I'm all for a true shut down D pairing but as much as I like Staal he needs a partner who can move the puck well.
