I think if the Devils were going to use their picks it would be a D-man like Trouba not another forward. Plus the Devils have one of the worst Defensive cores in the NHL, I cannot see them trading a 24 year old
RHD with potential.

Also you lost me at Speers being an NHLer; even at the end of the season when the Devils roster was 75% AHL players Speers didn't get a call up. I thought of him more as a career AHLer.

Good idea, but too much for Fox. Maybe Q and a small add (fourth).
Shero would need the ability to talk with his agent before agreeing. Getting the rights is usually not more than a third (Vesey) with Buffalo I think.
I think its a great idea, after watching Makar from UMass last night (first half of the game, <strong>not second</strong>!) who is in contention with Fox for the Hobey Baker award. Stealing him from the Rags would lessen the blow of them getting 2 OA! I would think many teams are thinking similar ideas. NYRs have a need so it may need more lifting, the Q pick probably helps that, maybe he finds his touch in Carolina.

I'm not a fan of EK, he'll get paid and breakdown half way through some monster contract. I'd rather look at a Risto/Hamilton etc type guy bigger, good skater less offensive. I would also get more speed See what Wings want for AA,. And take on a few bad contracts for players about to breakout, like Kapanen in Tor

The Severson/Klefbom trade is confusing but it is more of a one for one, with NJD giving a little more to sweeten the pot. They have the IDENTICAL stats. Plus Severson/Butcher combo showed some serious promise at the end of last season.

I agree, but Bowman is really high on Schneider right now, especially since he is trying to ship Crawford to the island, so you never know. Remember, Shero did get Hallsy for Larsson straight up, so you never know.

I agree that Severson for Klefbom, should be a 1 for 1 deal, and I know he showed some good chemistry with Butcher, however Hynes isn't his biggest fan and we lose a year in age but gain a CANNON of a shot in Klefbom. Plus, Shero already fleeced Chia for Hallsy, so we would have to sweeten the pot a little more. We wouldn't have to make that trade at all or you could just leave the picks out of it and keep the 2 first rounders, but I think having Klefbom's shot on the PP is the deciding factor.

Zajac fits in with the Kings like a glove though and they would have the cap space and it is only a 3rd and a 5th. I think we should have tried to off load him this previous off season.

And as much as I love Schneids and want to win the cup with him, I think the team would be better off if we could get a slew of picks and like a DeBrincat or some other young player with a high ceiling. Plus if we could get Grubauer, we could rotate Kinkaid and Grubauer every couple games or so.

All I know is that I am extremely excited for the future of this team.
