Pag out sign debrusk trade 1st for Rossi
You won't be getting Rossi for a late teens early twenties pick. It would cost more than you want to pay for him

They could never make the money work for Marner. You would need to wait another year and you do not have that option with Marner set to hit free agency if that happens

I don't know Eichel had the health concerns and that whole thing around him. It would be pretty damn close to this offer that seals it

Its a 50/50 split if he will be back or not. If he isn't back than this might work. But he has stated he wants to play next year, it is just a matter of healing

I don't think the Sabres do that unless they think they are a legit threat in the East next season

Ottawa should accept that.
10th overall pick.
Promising young winger in Mercer
Promising Young Offensive Defenseman in Casey
and a 4th line plug
for
a 30-40 goal / 75-80 point power forward. Sure he is the Captain of the team but I think its enough to get the Senators to move on

2024 Mock Draft with Surprises and Analysis
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>A couple thoughts on #2: Where did you get the idea that the Hawks stay away from Russians? I've never heard this before, and history shows that is definitely not true. Also, Levshunov is Belarusian, which is certainly no less problematic than being Russian. It's just Russian with twist.
I also find it extremely hard to believe Ottawa and especially Buffalo draft LDs.</div></div>
I very much agree with this man. Chicago is not afraid of Russians. But in recent history it has been correct that they lean more NA or Scandinavian in round one. I believe that is due to where they are picking though.
Silayev won't be on the board for Buffalo, but they could take him if he is there because he does play his off side in the KHL. Still think they go RHD or BPA.
There is more to read into but I am interested to see why your order is so skewed

Cannot see Silayev falling that far. If Eiserman is on the board past pick 12 I could see the capitals looking to trade up to get him. If not I see them going MBN there. Don't see Jett going in the top 20 honestly

Don't have to try to be a Pens hater. Y'all do it for us.
I have not an ounce of anger in my body so I don't know how you jumped to that conclusion.
But either way the comment was to show that Rossi is a far better prospect.

I would say that Capitals take that deal. We already have Leonard in the wings and Miro to take over for Ovi. I like that trade for us

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>fil97</b></div><div>are you high lol yager alone is already more valuable than Rossi.</div></div>
I really cannot imagine how you see that.
Go back to each of their draft years.
Marco Rossi - 120 points in 56 games in the OHL.
Brayden Yager - 78 Points in 67 games in the WHL.
Let me further educate you.
Yager was on a stacked Moose Jaw team this year and did not break 100 points.
Rossi went on to put up almost a ppg pace in the AHL when he was down with the Iowa Wild over a two year period. Yager has not made the jump to a Men's league yet. Sure Rossi's D+1 season wasn't much because Covid happened, but if you remove the handful of games he played that season and used the following year as he D+1 season, he is a far better prospect.
Now lets get to the other important aspects. Rossi is now an NHLer and has shown he can compete in the league. Yager is still a raw prospect and we have not seen if he can translate his game to the Pros. There is no certainty that Yager will succeed or be a bust in the league, but most signs point to him being a good middle sixer. Rossi has already shown he can be that and more.
Last point, if you are one of the idiots that goes off draft position. Rossi was selected 9th overall in his draft. Yager was taken at 14th overall. So you cannot use the better draft position excuse.
I am done ranting now

The only item I can see happening here would be the Philly trade.
Seattle is not going to trade Tolvanen. Especially not for an undersized defenseman that unfortunately is not living up to his hype.
I doubt Vegas lets Whitecloud go for that little. Maybe a pair a seconds.
You value is off on Saros. He will get an earlier first and a top prospect or an elite forward

Honestly I do not think Pittsburg has the assets to get Rossi. They would have to give up something along the lines of Yager, Pickering and a first. And I doubt they are willing to do that

I don't believe the Caps really have a spot on the Roster for Ilya.
I wouldn't be opposed to this deal but where would he slot in?
Left side: Ovi, Miro, Milano, Maly
Right side: Wilson, Protas, Oshie and the single open roster spot that might go to Sgarbs
I mean I can see them maybe moving Milano but most likely not, and maybe the 4th line winger position is open but Ilya doesn't fit there

Literally 5-10 people know hes even draft available this year. Teams likely dont touch him till 3rd/4th rounf due to the talent in the 2nd round alone.
Ovechkin played 30-40 good games this year? thats pretty horrible.</div></div>
Ovi has no support on his line. He was playing with a guy who is still considered a rookie and varying RWs.
If Ovi had some support he would have had a better season.
What do you mean 5-10 people know about him? He is ranked the second best goaltender in class.....
I wouldn't be surprised if he is taken in the second round. He is a legit all-star goalie in his first season in the KHL.

I can't see the Caps giving up a mid first rounder ++ for a defenseman who would be forced to play second pairing time because Carlson is still around. Even then he would be 30 by the time Carlson retired and he was stepping into the top pairing. We would be better off getting good prospects that can grow while we run with this older roster
