That is fair. As a MN fan if Parise is going to be traded I would like to see him go to the Isles because that's where his dad played.

I agree. Dumba is much more of a risk/reward defenseman and is a very different player than Petro. I'm not positive they can get him with the current cap situation without moving Flower. I could see VGK calling MN if they aren't able to get Petro but who really knows with how this year is going. When looking at other teams I just saw that VGK seemed to have a lot of LD and MN is looking to move a RD and acquire a new goaltender, so I think there's a fit. Id love if Flower could be a mentor to Kappo.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>Like I said, Marleau cost the Leafs a first to get rid of and Fleury has a far worse contract. I'm not necessarily saying Vegas should do it, but if they are desperate to offload Fleury like the Leafs were then the price would be a first, potentially more and only get like a late pick in return. To get Dumba you'll have to add a lot more to that.</div></div>
I think an important note is the NTC that comes with Flower. If he doesn't want to be exposed then that could block VGK from protecting Lehner, right now a NTC or NMC negatively impacts trade value.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>A Vegas trade like this just makes way too much sense. I think the Wild could get more, it took a 1st round pick for the Leafs to move Marleau signed for 1 year and a bit over $6M, well Fleury is at 2 years with $7M and the cap is flat for the next 3 years... I could honestly see a first <em>plus</em> Krebs/Glass in a trade like this.</div></div>
As of now they definitely are the most likely partner for a Dumba trade. They have what MN wants and MN has what VGK want, definitely think that Dumba is getting traded sooner rather than later though. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

Very true. I don't know the NYI system will enough to know if they have the depth to make up for trading Leddy, Clutterbuck, Czikas, and Komarov. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out

Barrie is garbage, no reason for us to sign him either, but he certainly doesn't sign for only one year.
The Ottawa trade doesn't make sense. That 2nd rounder doesn't help us nearly as much as those players do, especially if you have Parise and Mayhew as middle six players in their spots.</div></div>
It would likely take more but NYI only have 8.9 mill in cap space and have to sign key players Devon Toews and Ryan Pulock. If Lou doesn't play things right they could have serious cap issues, if I'm MN i kick the tires on an offer sheet.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PLDGEY</b></div><div>Its definitely not just Norris. That 5 is going to be VERY hard to pry from OTT hands.
We have 4 second rounds, and were gonna likely gonna move up with 2 of them using 3rds (Dorion has never drafted in the 3rd round) and the islanders 1st as well. Were gonna have lots of opportunity to take swings top 4D prospects.
I mean, we could take Drysdale at 4 or trade down to 10 and take Sanderon (the only 2 D worth taking in the top 20).
OTT is not at the point in our rebuild to trade top draft picks or top C prospects.</div></div>
I think your point is fair. While i do think it may be a bit early for them to trade away assets the trade could make them more competitive. There's something interesting about trading unproven players for proven players. either way this is all hypothetical and meant to start debate, I knew someone would be against it :)

Plus, I feel like Ottawa could use RD more than LD, so maybe it'd work with Dumba, but either way, I don't see them moving that 5th overall pick, especially along with Norris, who I imagine they value very highly. As for the other trades, I'm open to moving Donato with how much LW depth the Wild have, especially if we get Lafreniere, and I doubt we'll move Stalock. I would guess he's the goalie we leave exposed in the Seattle expansion draft.</div></div>
Thanks for the feedback! I can see the PIT decision both ways but if i was a PIT fan i would worry about the unprotected 2021 1st if they kept it. With Covid 19 possibly taking out members of a team for 2 weeks or more it could be risky. Dubnyk could be resigned to be exposed in the draft (maybe he has some kind of return to form, who knows?), either way I think its more valuable for MN to see if Kappo can handle the NHL rather than have him play ll season in the minors.

Thats not the problem though, its the #5. We need to swing on elite talent and thats not enough to warrant moving down.</div></div>
I don't doubt he's a huge part of their rebuild. If there is something that would really stop the trade in its tracks it would be having Norris in, a worse prospect would make it more likely. My point of view on it is that OTT needs a top 4 D and I definitely think that they can still take a swing on a good prospect at #15, in a deep draft, that could have great upside. Thanks for the feedback!

That's a fair assessment. I think that if MN can get something close to market for Stalock or Dubnyk they should pull the trigger. Stalock will be easier to trade and its more valuable to see if Kappo is an NHL caliber goaltender rather than keeping him in the minors

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>RazWild</b></div><div>Couple of things.
1) The Wild have $16.2M in available cap space this upcoming offseason. $42.1M next year after that. We're not hurting for cap space, even with large contracts coming up in the next couple of years.
So there is literally no reason to think we can't resign Brodin, it'll likely just take place after the expansion draft is all.
2) I like where your head's at. I love what you did here. But I don't see OTT pulling the trigger on that deal. Not when they can grab either Byfield/Stutzle at 3rd ova and Raymond with the 5th.
Just my opinion of course.
Cheers! :cool</div></div>
Thanks for the feedback!
1) The reason why i said MN may not be able to resign Brodin is that Kaprisov, Fiala, and EK will be RFA's and Staal, Foligno, Hartman will be UFA's and i think there can be a debate to resign them all (or for how much). How much will they take up in the cap or for how many years is unknown but I imagine Fial will be spendy. I also think that Dumba or Brodin could be lost at the Seattle expansion draft, my opinion is to trade Brodin because the contract will be easier to trade.
2) The goal was to make it tempting, I also think that this trade could accelerate where OTT is in their rebuild. They get a great top 4 d-man and a decent winger for moving back 10 spots in the draft.

Opinions
The Pens trade doesn't make sense, the wild have 2 solid goaltending prospects in the AHL with another solid one still in juniors. It's true that Dubby is on the decline but Jarry isnt a proven starter, he's always shared the crease with another goalie at the NHL level. if the Wild are making this trade then they must be certain that their goaltending prospects will not be ready in the next 5 years. Your basically trading a young (23yrs), skilled player and a cheap 7th d-man for a pick, a slow footed 6/7 dman (that's also expensive), and a goaltender who's career save percentage is lower than Dubbys save percentage last year (which was considered a down year). IMO MIN declines
NJD Trade:
Zucker (proven player, solid 2-way winger, fan favorite) and donato (skilled but needs work) have more value than a third liner and a skilled player who's completely unproven at the NHL level. IMO this trade doesn't really help the Wild. MN Declines
TOR Trade:
Basically swaping backup goaltender (and trading away a player whos well liked in the locker room), swapping top 4 d-man (wild get older but more physical), and Hyman and Foligno have similar roles (Foligno is more physical and Hyman is more skilled). IMO this trade is kind of a wash, MN declines.
BOS Trade:
Staal is a 2nd line center who has half the salary as Backes who is a 4th line center and was scratched multiple times last year for Boston (including in the playoffs). By himself Staal is worth at minimum a low 1st rounder or high second rounder based on the type of player he is to what your paying him (good 2nd line center for 3 mil is a steal) . Add that with the fact that MN is taking on a much larger contract for a lesser player then your talking Beecher and another pick in return. MN declines

MN Wild Reg Season Lineup
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div>
1. Reilly is waivers eligible so he'll start in the AHL. He looked bad when he was in MN last year (it was a horrible idea pairing him with Dumba).
2. Iowa looks like a garbage team again this year: Lucia/Kunin/Anas coule very well be the top line in Iowa. At least as a 4C in MN he'd have some combo of Ennis, Foligno, Stewie as his linemates. He would have been better off staying at UW and having Fredric on his line. I'm usually all for AHL development, but there needs to be some talent to play with for it to be beneficial. Iowa has no future top-9 besides Kunin this season.
3. meh they are both questionable so either could make the team.
What has Ennis done to deserve time on Staal's line over Zucker or Coyle? I don't really see Ennis and Parise meshing well for play styles.</div></div>
1: True Reilly was terrible last year but right out of the gate I think he will get the chance to succeed. If he doesn't show that he's capable there's Quincey and Murphy. My opinion Murphy is the dark horse for the NHL lineup. Not proven but could fit in with Olofesson on the right side.
2: That's why I kept him in the AHL. I think the Wild brass want him playing a lot of minutes. So it's either maybe 10 minutes a night right in the NHL or possibly 18-20 minutes in the minors. He will definitely get some time in the NHL.
3: ya it's kind of a toss up but I'm leaning towards Svedberg
Your right but I'm looking at possible line combos. Boudreau is someone who loves mixing up lines and usually has a set pair for each line. Granny/Koivu, Parise/Stall are set pairs from last season so the #3 guy on each line can be interchangeable. Nino, Coyle, Zucker, and Ennis are all pretty interchangeable and who knows Coyle could play third line center and Errikson Ek can play wing in the top 6. Looking at each line in a size perspective I'd probably switch Ennis and Coyle and then swap Nino and Zucker.
Made the changes.
Good reply. Thanks

3: Personally favor N. Svedberg over Stalock, more upside
