Well there are reasons he gets hate, he’s like jake gardener as a comparison, pretty good dman it’s just the errors he makes are so bad it makes it seem like he sucks, I felt it was a bit of an overpay but in today’s nhl I can’t see anyone parting with a young rising player like kapanen for cheap, again 50 point pace on the third line, Andersson is young but his upside is limited, georgiev is good but again a backup goalie for kapanen? Georgiev may be better than a backup but he will be a backup in Toronto, So that’s why Skjei is included, a pick coming back with Toronto probably makes this fair, or a better 4th loner than smith

I figured they wouldn’t want to give up a rising player for a backup goalie and a struggling prospect which is why I added Skjei, adding a pick coming back with Kapanen could probably make it more even, wether that would be a 3rd or a 2nd I’m not sure but I doubt Toronto does the trade if it’s just georgiev and Lias

just look at what I said to rja in regards to puljujarvi, as for georgiev, trading goalies has no precedent in the league and assuming he finishes with around 50 games played and a 2.75 gaa and like a 910 save percentage then I think what I have is fair, the goalie market this summer is really good too with a lot of rfa's so I don't think anyone will give up more than that for georgiev.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rja</b></div><div>-Giving up too much for Pulju
-Blues and Hawks likely will not give up that much for those players
-I would hold onto Georgiev and look to trade him in the offseason because we do not know what the plan is for Shestyorkin yet
Think you are looking to move the right players, but I am not as optimistic about the returns.</div></div>
I calculated the value for puljujarvi by comparing him to nikita gusev, gusev got a 2nd and a 3rd, so I started there, puljujarvi is putting up points in a worse league than the khl but has nhl experience so that cancels out. puljujarvi is younger than gusev so I figured hes probably worth a bit more than gusev. I would say hes worth 2 seconds but Edmonton wants a player back to help them out now so a former first round pick in andersson and a third round pick seems like fair value to me. Every media pundit says Kreider is worth a first, I am skeptical of that but hes worth more than zucc and zucc got a conditional second and third so I think Kreider could get a first and kostin especially if salary I sretained which it would have to be, if theres no salary retained then I think he would bring back kostin and a second and third with the same conditions as the zucc trade. as for strome I would just trad ehim to anyone, I picke dthe hawks cause maybe they wanna unite the brothers and if strome gets 60 points this year hes absolutely worth a second round pick. that georgiev trade is on draft day so it is in the offseason, we should know by the end of the year what we are gonna do and we cant keep all three goalies afte rthis season anyways.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bcarlo25</b></div><div>Rangers fans have to get off their high horse with Kreider. This is getting absurd. The other day I saw something that was Heinen and two firsts. Cmon. What on earth are you guys on about?
You've got potentially two firsts, a 3rd, and last years second round pick, that by all indications, the bruins really like for a guy that has
50 point season: 1
53+ point seasons: 0
30 goal seasons: 0
Decent roster player or solid prospect and a 2nd that can turn into a first if he re-signs? sure. This nonsense? Keep dreaming. Hold onto him until the deadline and get a first if he's having a good year.
He's a nice player. He's not a mark stone. He's not an Erik Karlsson. He isn't getting that kind of package.</div></div>
O I agree one hundred percent on what you think kreider is worth he is incredibly inconsistent and I think he is worth 2 2nds and a decent prospect but i saw a lot of the media saying he could get more so I am just going with what they think he is worth, I would say his value is around what Jeff skinner was worth last summer but when I posted a team that had that kind of trade for him I got people like you saying I didn’t value him enough so I can’t win lol

Keep in mind kreider is wildly inconsistent and only a 50 point winger, zucc was a 50 point winger and got a 2nd and a 3rd at the deadline, does kreider being younger and for a whole year rather than at the deadline really increase his value beyond what that trade is giving up?

How is it not worthwhile to get a great prospect and probably a high first for a one year rental? Plus another pick, what’s your value of one year of kreider?

I’m a ranger fan and I would take that deal for kreider, Edmonton’s pick could be high again next year and to get a first and a good prospect for kreider, strome, and cap dumps is awesome, it’s been reported no one will give up a first for kreider as a 1 year rental so to get a possible lotto pick and a prospect for him and a few 1 year cap dumps is amazing idk why people would say no to that from a rangers perspective, you could argue do a sign and trade to get more but that rarely happens

yeah which is why I said you could argue to change that 4th I included to a 2nd or add a prospect but he still wont get a 1st. I Don't think, and I also heard, that no team really wants him without a new contract so the rangers would be going to teams to shop him rather than a team coming to the rangers and asking for him, which means the price will be lower. also Carolina lost leverage with fox and still got two 2nds so I don't know how much leverage actually fits into the price.

jeff skinner last summer got a 2nd, 6th, 3rd and a prospect (who was a 3rd) Skinner had 1 year left to be UFA like Kreider and scored around the same amount of points as Kreider. What team is gonna give up their first next year for a guy who could play one year and leave. Kreider is basically worth what zucc was worth at this years deadline, Kreider is worth more now because the team could get him for the whole year rather than the end of the season, so zucc got a 2nd and 3rd, Kreider will get that plus a little more since its for the whole year, hence why I included a 4th and 6th, you could make the argument hes worth two 2nds but he wont get a 1st.

oilers trade with NYR
right now boqvist is projected as the number 5 pick and hes a defenseman, while picks 1-3 will be nhl ready the rest of the top 10 is a toss up, so I wouldn't expect that number 5 pick to be ready until the 2019-2020 season, he will probably take a year in the minors to get used to the north American game after coming from Europe. and yeah that first is low but that's why zucc and spooner are there for value so that 5 is worth it and yeah the rest are cap dump players that (other than kassian) have some potential

Rangers Post 2018 Draft
pretty good, zucc and spooner could be traded at the draft but that remains to be seen, I don't think either will be on the team next year but its possible they could be, as for the contracts all are good except kovalchuk, namestnikov and hayes will want more money, namestnikov will probably be 5 million as well as hayes but kovalchuk is interesting, he is making 6 million in the khl so you have to figure if he is coming back the the nhl he is not gonna take a pay cut especially with the cap increasing so he will probably get 7 million from someone, and he is worth that even though he is old as he is putting up a point per game in the khl which would be around 60-70 points in the nhl, the thing is that he wants to win and he doesn't have much time left, so unless the rangers get a top 3 pick which shows the rebuild will be quick then I doubt he is going to come to a rebuilding team even if he likes the new York area, again the only way he comes here is if he gets 7 million and we get a top 3 pick which is a player that can help now, other than those issues its really solid but personally I would trade spooner and zucc to move up in the first round

oilers trade with NYR
hmm, spooner can be a center or a winger as he is good at both, but on the oilers he would be the 4th line center so he would be better on the wing, he is in no way a 4th liner lol if he wasnt hurt he would be on pace to have 60 points out of 82 games this year, he currently has 32 points in 43 games. goals arent everything with spooner and zuccarello as they are both passers more then shooters and 4.5 million for spooner is fair value as zucc also makes the same and they both can have 60 points. and if chiarelli wants to compete now wouldnt he like 2 players who are proven and ready now? the 29th pick is just there for value and to let you guys still have a first round pick this year, since the oilers want to win now and the rangers are rebuilding i would have taken big contracts like sekera and russell to free up the cap space instead of the young guys as they can still develop, the problem is sekera and russell have so much damn term left that they would still be on the rangers by the time the rebuild is over lol, the rangers have guys that are gonna get raises too so they cant take those contracts for that long, lastly with the cap rising strome is absolutely worth 4 million as a 30 point minimum center and a 50 point maximum, 1m for caggiula and slepyshev is a little low as well. and because chiarelli isnt the greatest of gms (as you probably know) i could see him making this deal to get better now with 2 proven guys rather than waiting for benning ( a 6th round pick) and caggiula (undrafted) to get better, because with the success rate of late round picks and undrafted players being very low i could see him not want to wait and get guys who can help now, why take the risk with the young guys who arent very high picks?

what the nyr will probably look like next year
yeah I cant see Vancouver doing it but I can see EDM and MTL doing it since MTL wants to win now with price and EDM wants to win now with McDavid, spooner and zuccarello would be good supporting pieces for them, it just matters on getting them to accept it, if its just getting their pick and not the 7th or the 2019 2nd then I'm fine with that and I think the 2 players and a pick is fair value since you are trading 2 established players and a pick that probably wont be a good player for a high pick that has a higher chance of being a good player but not guaranteed
