Nemeth has an 8 team NTC (I'd bet Arizona is one of the 8), the value of the trade is good and I think in theory both teams would say yes but I doubt Nemeth says yes

How much does it cost
The Coyotes won't have any trouble getting to the cap floor and Larsson has real value so that's an easy not from the Coyotes. If you look at the deals the Coyotes have taken on in the past with taking on money or even LTIR players who will never play again (like Pronger and Datsyuk) they always received an asset in addition. The Yotes also only have 19 player contracts for next season so they need real bodies who will actually play games. Larsson would fit well on the Oilers and help them but he's gonna cost a pick or prospect there since there is literally no value in Klefbom to Arizona.

Kiviranta and 3rd isn't enough to take on Khudobin. Pick either has to be 2nd or the player has to be higher upside player like Dellandrea or Martino. The idea isn't bad but the value is slightly off

That's not nearly enough for Chychrun... First of all Minn 1st rounder this year is gonna be in 20s so that's not nearly as valuable as you'd think.. and then the Yotes don't get any of Rossi (not moving sure), Boldy (not moving sure), Addison, Khovanov, Khusnutdinov, O’Rourke, Beckman, McBain, Peart or Wallstedt? Lambos is a nice prospect but he isn't enough with the less than value of the picks.
2022 First
Lambos + Khusnutdinov + another pick or one of the names above is more like it.

That's an awful return on Schmaltz. DeBrusk stinks and is owed an expensive QO.. there's a reason no one has traded for him despite being available for over 2 years. Senyshyn is a zero. 3rd rounder doesn't move the needle. I guess Frederic is the piece I'm supposed to be excited about but he doesn't profile any anything other than a physical 3C with maybe 30 point upside?
I'd rather just keep Schmatz. His game come around he's got term, no need to move him

No one is giving up any asset for Zucker.. let alone the Coyotes who would have no use for him on a rebuilding team. If you want to use the Coyotes cap space to get rid of him fine, but you'd have to attached a pick to Zucker and expect nothing in return.

IDK if you've seen but the Athletic just did a piece about team's deployment of their D. They noted that Carolina has a top-3 that it leans on very heavily in Jaccob Slavin, Brett Pesce and Brady Skjei against elite competition, so no chance they trade Skjei, he's one of only 3 Rod trusts.
They also noted that Ethan Bear and Tony DeAngelo have both been heavily sheltered in playing more than 40 percent of their minutes against the low-end competition. That lack of apparent trust in Bear and DeAngelo perhaps explains why the Canes have been linked Chychrun.. and Chychrun despite his bad underlying's this year has put up great numbers against elite competition when he's been with a capable partner aka Alex Goligoski.
A top 4 or Slavin - Pesce and Chychrun - Skjei would be downright dominant.

This isn't entirely true. Yes the coyotes are under minimum contracts for next season but that would have no bearing on any trades this year. They have 18 of 50 possible contracts for 2022-23.. getting to the minimum 23 is no issue at all.

Look I'm the biggest Coyotes fan in the world, I love Chych and if it were up to me, we wouldn't move him. But when I look around, and I look at the potential blue chips coming back, I just don't know which one we could reasonably get from the teams that have had mentioned interest. Would I prefer a McTavish or Lundell yes, but idk if that's gonna happen. In this case.. was Turcotte over drafted.. yes... Could he still be a top 6 center yes. Turcotte-Hayton + whoever we draft in round 1 this year is at least a good foundation down the middle. I'm a huge ****emo fan. I think he has all the tools to be a consistent 25 goal 50-60 point wing. Keller, Crouse, Schmaltz (if he stays at wing), Guenther, ****emo, Maccelli, that's a real good top 9 set. Grans can flat out play. Soderstrom, Grans, Mayo/Timmins is again a decent start to your right side. Plus the 1st would give us 4 in this draft, that mean's either 4 super high upside prospects or maybe we take the Carolina, LA, Col 1st rounders and package them to have two picks in the top 5 etc. I like this deal from the idea that it gives us many more bites at the apple and stronger prospect base.

How fast can the Coyotes say no? Coyotes get two players who in no way help their rebuild and a bunch of late round crap picks. Ghost isn't moving this year but if the Coyotes did decide to move him they could easily get a late 1st and plus prospect give him play and that his contract is only 1 more year. Try again

Coyotes can only retain on one more contract since they are already retaining on OEL and Keumper.. a 5th round pick isn't enough to use that last spot, since it would mean they couldn't retain on Kessel or any other trade

Not a bad idea. If you want the Yotes to retain I think it has to be a better prospect than Pettersen or adding another pick. BUT that larger issue is I don't think Phil would waive trade protection to go anywhere in Canada

Ricky Williams Trade
For those of you who aren't football fans... The Ricky Williams trade was a trade between the New Orleans Saints and Washington Redskins of the National Football League (NFL), which occurred prior to the 1999 NFL Draft. Mike Ditka who at the time was the head coach of the Saints wanted to move up in the draft order from the 12th overall pick to ensure that he would be able to select Ricky Williams from the University of Texas at Austin. To do so, the Saint traded every pick they had in the draft, plus two of their first three picks in the 2000 NFL Draft, for the fifth overall pick, with which it selected Williams. The trade was as follow:
Traded to New Orleans
1999 first round pick (5th overall, Ricky Williams)
Traded to Washington
1999 first round pick (12th overall, later traded to Chicago, used to select Cade McNown)
1999 third round pick (71st overall, later traded to Chicago, used to select D'Wayne Bates)
1999 fourth round pick (107th overall, used to select Nate Stimson)
1999 fifth round pick (144th overall, later traded to Chicago, used to select Khari Samuel)
1999 sixth round pick (179th overall, later traded to Denver, used to select Desmond Clark)
1999 seventh round pick (218th overall, later traded to Denver, used to select Billy Miller)
2000 first round pick (2nd overall, used to select LaVar Arrington)
2000 third round pick (64th overall, used to select Lloyd Harrison)
Here's my question.. how many players today if any would you pull the "Ricky Williams" trade for aka 8 picks (2 1sts, 2 3rds (or 1 2nd 1 3rd for arguments sake) and then 4th-7th), and how many teams would actually say yes?
My short list of players who would be worth it:
McDavid
Matthews
Makar
MacKinnon
and MAYBE Bedard for the #1 overall pick.
and honestly idk if any of those teams (EDM, COL, TOR) would say yes.

As a Coyotes fan I can tell you that 1. I think Arizona accepts (as long as the pick isn't lottery or even top 10 protected) 2. this is one of the few good/realistic Chychrun trades i've seen so good on you.
I don't love Grans as the d man coming back (I'd prefer Faber or Bjornfot) but you can't complain about Kupari and Turcotta as real top assets. Good job.

Playoff Push
Wait let me get this straight - Coyotes trade Chychrun and don't get any of Sam F, Kupari, Turcotte, Clarke, or Bjornfot?? They get Vilardi who is verging on bust territory, and Anderson-Dolan who is already 22 and isn't in the top 10 of the King's prospects. Each of Maata, Grunstromm have 0 value to a rebuilding team (even if they are in there just for salary) It's an all caps hard NO from the Yotes.

I'd put Lucic in the same camp as Stralman last year where the Panthers said you can waive and to this place where you'll play or we can bury you in AHL or buy you out. Stralman waived and chose to go somewhere he could play and keep his career going, I'd bet Lucic (who waived his NMC to go to Cal and then again this summer to help Calgary with expansion would do it).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VGKNation702</b></div><div>Lols there’s zero chance we’re paying to get rid of Karlsson, if we were to move him it’s because hed probably draw us the most compensation out of anyone to be moved.</div></div>
Again why would any team give up literally anything to help Vegas here? This isn't about Karlsson being bad it's about Vegas having literally negative leverage. Same with Dadonov or Brossoit, good players who other teams may like to have.. but no team has literally any incentive to give up anything for any of them. Let's say Vegas says "We think Dadonov is good, same with Brossoit, we love Karlsson" the rest of the league can just shrug and go "okay" and then Vegas can lose Smith, McNabb, Janmark and have literally no cap space to resign Roy or Hague, or fill out their roster. It's a leverage play of which Vegas has none.
Now what you have on your side is that this league is routinely stupid - i.e. the flower trade this offseason where Chicago took him without making VGK pay up (a moronic move in my opinion).. and look some team is about to trade a 1st round pick for Ben Chiarot, this league is full or rock chewing idiots. But hypothetically, and please remember this is a message board armchair GM team.. I just wanted to explore the idea of what I think it would cost for Vegas to get a team to take Karlsson and has 5 years remaining.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Gardoki</b></div><div>There's been a lot of Zucker debate here as of late, but the Pens don't have to add crazy assets like that to move him. He's been playing great hockey, his scoring is finally starting to come and only has one year left. The Pens are better off holding him this year unless the right deal comes up, and waiting until the off-season to reevaluate what to do.</div></div>
I don't think anyone on this thread understands 1. the cap 2. leverage. First of all, saying Zucker's scoring is finally starting to come around? Dude has 3 goals in his las 20 games... but that's besides the point. If the Pens want to stay competitive they only have 33 mil in space to resign Geno (or an equivalent), Rust (or an equivalent), Letang (or an equivalent) each of those players or their replacements costs at least 6.5-8 AAV - so there's 19.5-24 of the space gone and that's before replacing/upgrading Carter, a backup goalie, and the entire bottom 6.
So again, i'm not saying Zucker is terrible I'm saying literally what leverage does Pitt have for a soon to be 31 year old, scoring at 4th line rates making 5.5? The answer is none. There isn't going to be a bidding war for Zucker. If the Pens decide they don't want to attach assets to move him.. fine that's a different thing, but he's not a player anyone is paying the Penguins for and frankly any team would be foolish to give any assets to them to take Zucker, Matheson, Petterson or any player that opens up cap space for them.

Matheson has tons of term left.. Hallander and a second isn't enough to take that length on. A just OK prospect and a 2nd is what Florida paid for AZ to take only 1 year of Stralman. Matheson is 4 more years.. and he's not a terrible player.. that's not what I'm saying but 4 years is a ton to take on.
