Why do we pay for Schlemko to play in the AHL..... Nyquist price IMO will be in this range maybe loss maybe me more. Niemi is good but Darling can maybe be good 2nd goalie too we remove a guy who will likely never play again for a guy to play 2nd goalie for the next 2 years (we can buy him out at his final year or trade him if he can get his value up). Cayden Primeau will take 2 to 3 years to be an NHL ready. IMO Montreal should trade Lindgren bcz Primeau could be the next goalie of MTL. Lindgren is an a weird situation bcz Price will be in MTL for the next 5 years minimum before we trade him or he retires (depands on what he wants)

Sujet: What de need... LD-C-RW
MTL does in fact need a C and an LD. That's about the extent of the praise I'm willing to give.
1. Charles Hudon was over 2 S/gp last year. That's over 20 goal pace with decent luck. That's better than what we saw from Scherbak. Put him at 3RW. A winger's a winger.
2. Paul Byron scored 20 goals last year. Get him out of the press box.
3. Jonathan Drouin's results have been better on the wing than at C. This year's free agent class has tons of middle-six centres. Grab Plekanec and put Drouin back where he belongs.
4. Stastny had very good numbers last year, and is a very good player. Pretty respectable 1C. But giving him 7 million for four years is just asking for trouble, especially at 32.
5. Why are we trading for Duclair? He's a good probable 20-goal middle-six winger, but that's our biggest area of surplus. Personally, I'd keep Lindgren, since Price's recent injury history suggests we need more than Niemi at backup.
6. This lineup is almost certainly costing us 2 of Hudon, Lehkonen, and Byron, if not all 3. That's a cause for concern.
7. CDH isn't the greatest option at 1LD out there. NYI's well-documented issues in their own end make me question how well he'll work, especially when Oscar Klefbom is on the market, and while healthy, he was #1D on a really solid team.
8. Mete &gt; Alzner. Better possession, comparable points pace with worse shooting luck, young enough to improve.
9. 23-man roster limit. Clean that roster up.
Between iffy trades, bad usage and a terrifying contract, I do not approve of this team at all.
