So he was replaced by Lucic as a Center by a LWer then replaced in the line-up by an AHLer.... LMAO
BTW- C. Tierney plays for Ottawa

Yes, so does Sam Bennet. And Look at his stats last year. Janko was their 4th line C. Then was a healthy scratch, replaced by D.Ryan. I watched the games too. The whole Calgary team was awful. Johnny G went from 99 points to like 50 something. Just look at Sam Bennett stats. And look at Janko’s. And compare. You’ll see it wasn’t all his fault.

Lol. Ya, I mean come on. You can even add a salary friendly goalie and add to your forwards. But I like the 4th line as a defensive line. All 3 had Sellers votes last year and are great defenders and can score too!! Although, I don’t think scoring would be a problem!! Lol. But ya, I’d figure I’d take Gibson, a top 2-3 goalie in the league also. And take the best young backup besides maybe I.Sorokin and M.Blackwood.

A middle 6 winger is someone who isn’t a 1st liner but isn’t a 4th liner and they switch between the 2nd and 3rd or middle lines</div></div>
Lol, ok. Whatever u say man. But the 1st line isn’t like your starting line. Your top 6 are your best players. Best offensive players. Highest paid players. I don’t know, I still don’t get it.
I understand I guess what u are trying to say. I guess cause TB just won a championship their fans think they know what they are talking about. Welcome to the club!! You now won 2!! You finally have a descent team and arnt just a fluke!! Good for you!! Try it 2 years in a row now and then come talk to me!! Ohh ya, Good luck paying them all now!! Lol!! But don’t worry, every Stanley cup team has that problem. It’s nothing new!! That is very common, unlike “middle 6 winger”.

Just for you reference so you can see I’m not crazy!</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Revans292</b></div><div>Dude I don’t need an education on lines and definitions, I’m aware and I’ve heard scouts rate players potential “middle 6” time and time again This means they are not bottom 6 guys.... but not top 6 either they are kind of in the middle, good years they squeeze into the 2nd line other years they are solid 3rd liners. But you wouldn’t want them on your first line or your 4th line, these guys don’t quite fit the top 6 or bottom 6 mold so they are called middle 6. Yes teams mix and match players for chemistry so occasionally you’ll have players on a 1stvline that are 3rd liners and visa versa. But you know Kap isn’t a top line player just like you know rust isn’t a 4th liner just use logic buddy.</div></div>
Ya, That’s reddit though. I’m not saying you’re crazy. I just don’t get it either though. Cause a 2nd line and 3rd line are completely different players. Most often completely different pay range too. It’s a jump to say a bottom 6 guy and a top 6 guy most often. Few players jump b/ween that. And mostly it’s cause they are younger finding their way onto the team in the bottom 6. And then take over a top 6 role as they mature or cause of injury to move a bottom 6 up. But hey, man. I’m wrong a lot. I’ve just never in my life heard that term or a player describe as a middle 6 guy.

Sorenson is a bottom 6 guy with middle 6 potential! But I get what your saying and your making a fair point.</div></div>
Nope, top 6 or bottom 6. Middle 6 makes no sense to me?? The 1st two lines are your strong lines. Interchangeable. Guenzel/Crosby/Kapanen, Zucker/Malkin/Rust.
All play about equal minutes and are inter changeable . On any team. The 1st and 2nd line. Or top 6. And top 6 forwards!! Not a top 6 winger?? There would only be 4 wingers. So what is a middle 6 winger?? It’s top 6 or bottom 6 my man. Played hockey into High School. Never heard of middle 6 in my life.
Your 1st line isn’t like your starting line. Your top 6 forwards are. Sometimes your second line takes the opening face-off. Just cause Geno Malkin is on the 2nd line does it make Kapanen who is on the 1st line better?? Just like Hertl being on SJS 2nd line. Top 6 forwards all play about the same number of minutes. A 2nd line forward could be on the 1st PP unit and a 1st line forward could not be.

What’s a middle 6 winger?? I never heard anyone say that b4?? It must be west coast hockey slang. Bottom 6 or top 6 right?? What would middle 6 be?? The 2nd and 3rd line?? That makes no sense? It’s not basketball or baseball. The top 6 forwards are pretty much interchangeable. I don’t know what a middle six is, but either way, I don’t think M.Sorensen is one!!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SlickWilly</b></div><div>Eh. Goalie is kind of a question mark. I would swap Jarry for Binnington, Demko for a backup on league minimum, and swap Acciari for a league minimum vet like Marleau</div></div>
No thanks. Jarry is a 25 year old, all-star goalie. Had better numbers than Binnington last year and the Blues had a better defense.
And Acciari has had Selke votes the last two years. And is tough. A perfect 4th liner IMO. Great defense.
I went and looked for cheaper 3rd pairing D. I found A.Pelech instead of Will Butcher. Saves about 2M. And DeMelo instead of K.Shattenkirk saves about 900k. It let me afford J.Gibson instead of T.Jarry at goalie. I’ll agree that is a big enough of an upgrade..lol.
It would be so much easier just to throw in C.Makar, or Q.Hughes or R.Dahlin or M.Heistanen or even A.Fox or J.Marino or M.Roy. Just one E-L contract on Defense would be a huge help.

Yep, the Avs are deep at D. Rikkola plays both sides equally as well too. Everyone, fans and analysts were screaming last year for him to play over Schultz on the 3rd pairing RHD or JJ on the LHD. He’s slid into the 2nd pairing D too when players were hurt or needed a rest. He has had two good years coming over from Russia at 25 as a FA, getting used to the smaller ice and NHL differences. Even though he’s played limited games; It hasn’t been limited, sheltered minutes. Last year he played 14 minutes a game and the year before he played almost 17(16:41). Good luck!! I hope u don’t need more help on D this year.

FIXING this SOFT Team and The HUGE holes at - 3C- Top 9 RW- 1B Goalie
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sidstick87</b></div><div>I watched Jankowski in Playoffs and he was so bad at 4C he got replaced by M. Lucic, Yes that M. Lucic.
Jankowski at best is a 4th line LW and a #13 / #14 Forward on a Playoff type team.</div></div>
So did I. The whole Calgary team was bad. Good thing you’re not the GM or coach. Cause both JR and Sully see him as a 3rd line Center. And he was Replaced by Dereck Ryan last year in the play-offs. He’s a Center!!
And I’m excited to see what Jankowski does with the Pens and as our 3rd line Center. Most Pens fans are sleeping on him, IMO. Both JR and Sully are happy opening the season with him being our 3rd line Center too.
Janko is 26, 1st round pedigree, proven good two-way center and top PK player. He had 17 goals and 25 points his 1st year and 14 goals and 32 points his 2nd. Yes, last year he sh*t the bed. But it’s an easy year to write off IMO(for everyone..lol) and look at Sam Bennet’s stats. And look at last year compared to his first 3 or 4. It wasn’t just Janko last year. It was the whole Calgary team. Look at even Monahan and C.Tierney stats. But look at Bennett’s and Janko’s and you will see, it was the whole team.
Imagine if last year, he improved or just stayed the same statistically. He would’ve been a sought after free agent. The narrative would be completely different. A recent 1st round pick, coming off his E-L contract and 1st team, has had 3 decent years, ready for his 4th year and break-out year. Now, it’s a “show me” contract. Show-me last year wasn’t a fluke and you can get back to producing like your 1st two years. And maybe Calgary just mis used him. It’s only his 4th year, only 26 and Pens are his 2nd team.
