Barron Bros
No interest from MTL to take on 2 more defenders when we're stacked in that position.
Probably would trade Barron + 1st Rd pick + B prospect for Ehlers tho, might be on the expensive side

Necas vs matheson
I mean value wise it works but I highly doubt they want multiple B-assets for a A-player, Matheson isn't moving the needle for them as they already have veteran that fill the similar role (Skjei, Slavin).
Probably Mailloux or Hutson for replacement of Burns would be something they would want as a package for Necas

Be real man, Hutson is top 15-20 prospect in the league right now on every list. Also heard about the undersized kid named Quinn Hughes ? Better production from Hutson at same age.
And also undersized kid name Gabe perreault is probably bad also cause he plays on the same line as Cutter Gauthier and Will Smith at Boston college.
He's not a sure star NHL player, but don't tell me he's not a top D prospect....

Alright good talk ! Definitely would be a steep price but worth it considering the contract and possible chemistry with Caufield!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>penguinswin</b></div><div>I never said that; I said what MIN is going to ask for in a Boldy deal... quit being overdramatic with the McJesus comparisons. If you want a big fish on a great contract you are going to pay through the nose. And my point was a (1) top D prospect/NHL'er; (2) a top forward prospect/NHL'er and (3) 2025 1st, unprotected. To MIN, this would be their version of an Eichel-level trade, and these are things MTL has that MIN would want.
IF the question was should MTL do this, of course not....but don't get mad at me, I didn't propose MTL trying to trade for Boldy</div></div>
I understand however your proposed ask is higher than Eichel.
Also you said :
Top D prospect (Lane Hutson) + top fwd prospect (Farrel/Mesar) + 2025 1st pick
Is awfully similar of what I proposed at top

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Just_A_Guess</b></div><div>Now, instead of the pointless giving of assets away with almost 13 million in cap space, bury Anderson if you despise him so much and get an actual return for Harris? Food for thought, proper asset management is usually preferred.</div></div>
Now, instead of critiquing only 1 part of the entire post you could actually post a constructive comment on how to deal with the Josh Anderson situation.
Because as of right now he's not an asset as he's got a negative value on the market and is considered a liability and in order to balance that you have to give asset, food for though.
As for the cap space remaining, you would see in the notes that it would be in the plans getting a top 6 talent in the likes of Jesper Bratt and keep the remainder of the cap space for Slaf/Guhle.
But yeah just comment on how bad this is without giving any insight that would further this conversation

Edit:

Alright this is where I draw the line of insanity, you probably wouldn't trade Boldy for McDavid
2025 1st + Slaf 1OA + Reinbacher 5OA sure man... This isn't NHL 2024 on playstation

Ok I might the off but asking for multiple 1st is even more crazy. It's not like San Jose are going to be playoff contenders in the next 3 years, maybe a 1st + Jordan Harris would work but at that price Kent Hughes probably doesn't do it.
Calgary did it also because they didn't have a choice with Kadri signing as Montreal can always wait, San Jose need that pick and Josh Anderson is still a NHL caliber of player that can fill a shirt for them and the rebuild phase and protect their prospect with his size.

I mean man you're giving us a bad rep here,no way the ducks take this....
If it took Calgary a 1st round Pick to dump us 1 year of Monahan imagine how much it would cost us to dump 3 years of Josh Anderson at 5.5m
Remove the 2nd, add a 1st(Calgary) and D (Struble/Harris) and we would get closer to the value. For this new price, Kent Hughes wouldn't go for it and that's why it won't get done

Kent Johnson to the habs
I get that caufield for KJ++ could work value wise, however Mtl needs goal scoring and we have a surplus of A-grade defense prospects.
Trading Caufield wouldn't move the needle in the right direction even if value wise it's fine. Here the goal is to fill the needs of both sides (ex: Hall for Larson)
And I understand if CBJ don't wanna go in that direction but Montreal ain't trading a quality forward that's for sure.
I'm just trying to find a fit, defense prospect for forward prospect type of deal and Guhle for KJ value wise isn't far off as we think

Vegas only has 9mil to spend for 7 roster players this summer! Our 1st pick this summer will not be in the lineup next year.</div></div>
Yeah that's why in the notes I said to probably trade a Defense prospect with 2 x 1st round Pick to get an impact player on the second line, move down Roy 3rd line and by the time Marchessault contract is up our 2024 fwd pick will be ready for the 2nd line job

Let's be honest Guhle is way closer to being a true #1RHD than KJ is of being a 1C
So I'm agreeing that MTL can be delusional but asking for Guhle and a top 10 pick for a player that's showed nothing incredible + is hurt + is a draft pick from the old defunct GM + is not on the good side of his Coach is also kinda delusional
Not saying you have to trade him but let's not pretend he's still worth a 5th overall pick here.

Guhle for Mercer
https://twitter.com/ARHockeyStats/status/1727783492765782493?t=bvxS2QwuTtpr3KmSYnhmCg&s=19
What Guhle brings is not necessarily points but he's already playing top pair minutes against the best players on the other team and holding it's own even at his age.
As for Mercer definitely a good even strength player, PP bumper player however with all the heavy contract upfront the devil's have I don't see how they can afford a 5x6M type of contract.
Don't think this trade is a reach
Hamilton - Guhle would be a good pairing
And Newhook - Dach - Mercer would be a good second line for the Habs

Guhle for Mercer
Guhle still has 1 year on its entry level contract as Mercer is RFA at the end of this year.
I would probably argue that New Jersey is giving more than a 5th, Mercer is playing on your 3rd line with potential of second line as Guhle is already playing 1st pair minutes.
Wouldn't mind Holtz instead of Mercer but here again would need extra compensation not much tho
