Bruins have great vibes right now, this is too big a shake up without improving the team enough. Swap the 2nd round pick to a 1st round pick from Edm and remove the 3rd rounder and who knows.

What we think about this
Beecher 100% needs to be in, he's smoked his competition.
Poitras looks legit. Sending him to the OHL is a mistake. He's arguably already better than Coyle and Geekie.
Lohrei should start in Providence as the Bruins work to make a trade to open his spot. He deserves it.

Not happening because Pastrnak isn't likely to agree to go to Seattle in the first place and Seattle wouldn't trade for him unless he's locked up to a long term contract.

Oilers-Bruins Swap
That is horrible for the Bruins.
2nd and Lavoie might get Debrusk…maybe
Kassian and Laggeson does not get anything.
Swayman won’t be traded.
Kassian is an unwanted cap dump
Laggesson is nothing more than a spare part
Lavoie is B- prospect who is questionable to transition to NHL.
Ullmark and Debrusk for 1st/Yammamoto and you can dump Barrie and Kassian on them. Might have to add a low end prospect like Kemp in as well.

BOS not taking salary back - they don't have the cap space.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lanny_McJagrBomb</b></div><div>Noted about the cap but Edmonton does have other options. They could go the rental route with someone more experienced like Fleury or Holtby and part with less draft capital.
I will also admit some bias as a Leafs fan. Swayman has looked great so far in a small sample size but Raycroft did as well. Two firsts is a big gamble but if Swayman becomes elite the price is well worth it</div></div>
I am a big Swayman fan, however this likely a deal that the Bruins move on to fill up the empty prospect shelves. I would have thought the Bruins would give Swayman the crease and sign a lower veteran to back him up vs Ullmark - so perhaps the brass would be compelled for an offer this good.

Laine to Boston
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rhea</b></div><div>hehe nope, long before that actually. More to do with Jacobs and Bettman being BFFs and it really affecting the officiating. The Bruins defence can basically do whatever they want and not get a penalty...especially Chara and Marchand.
Unless you are completely blind you cannot dispute that either.</div></div>
If you think the bruins get favorable officiating you are one of the dumbest human beings on the planet. A puck literally went 20 feet into the netting and they still let the bruins get scored on. Conspiracy theorists are the worst. Don’t be one.
The earth is round.

Laine to Boston
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rhea</b></div><div>lol personal shots nice touch, shows class I guess. Ever notice that Chara can't defend without grabbing the guy on the way past because he is too slow? Ever see a penalty? Very rarely. Ever see Krug hit a guy without leaving his feet? Ever seen McAvoy get away with shots from behind with no penalty? Damn good dman though. Debrusk did the exact same thing Kadri got suspended for...suspension? Not a chance. Imagine if a guy on the Leafs or the Habs or any other team licked a dude...its ok for Marchand though.
Come on man seriously, you cannot believe it is a level playing field. Ask any fan of any team. My favourite is Jack Edward's constant complaining and whining.</div></div>
Jack edwards stinks as bad as your take on this. You genuinely sound like one of those crazy flat earthers. Enjoy whatever world you live in.

Laine to Boston
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>reelkena</b></div><div>"inconsistent, defensively deficient, work ethic challenged at 2nd line wing"
Being aggressively wrong is just number #9988768 of why we all hate the bruins and their fans</div></div>
You hate the bruins because of a 4-0 loss in game 7 of the stanley cup final. I don’t blame you.
Laine doesn’t fit the bruins style of play. He would be a second line winger for them.
Giving up two young core assets, and a first round pick to upgrade a 2nd line position in a style that doesn’t fit with the team makes no sense.

Laine to Boston
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>reelkena</b></div><div>Bcarlo would never allow Bcarlo to be traded.
I would consider this from WPG if they kept Roslovic. Laine is worth 3 good pieces alone.
Your worry for Boston is unfounded. DeBrusk took a step back and the 1st is late. I would still consider declining from Wpg's side correct but most offers for Laine are worse than this.</div></div>
So all this to get a slight upgrade from an inconsistent, defensively deficient, work ethic challenged at 2nd line wing? Maybe for another franchise that needs a first line winger. The bruins don’t.

Next Year No Krug
I don't understand how you figure Grizz will get more then Mac or Carlo. Better off giving Krug $8m and giving Kuhlman away. I'd let Kuhlman walk before giving him $2m. I don't see anything there but speed.
Coyle a slight overpay, but seeing what Hayes got from Philly, he'll probably get something close. Bruins need a center of his age to transition, he is a must.
Can't bring a 4th line guy like Wagner back for close to $2m.
Don't see any reason to do that Backes trade. Just buy him out if necessary. He still seems to be a big part of the leadership off the ice.

Next Year No Krug
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ON3M4N</b></div><div>He's owed $3 million after July 1st. He'll be a prime target for a team looking to get to the cap floor.</div></div>
Lol, you said the same thing this last offseason when he was owed 5m for 2 years. I told you nobody would take him.
He will be owed 4m for 1 next year, the terms got worse just shorter. They won’t be able to move him. They will have to buy him out. Something they should have done this year. Would not have gotten any cap relief this year really. But it would have saved an extra 1m next year (3m hit as opposed to 4) plus they would have gained a roster spot.
That being said this is ridiculous. Better off keeping Heinen and buying Backes out. Some of these contracts are excessive and will make up that difference. Plus Chara likely retires.
Oh...BTW...for the OP....they are keeping Krug. ??♂️

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pharrow</b></div><div>Kadri did challenge him to a fight. With a cross check to the face. Much like Foligno did on Kucherov for his dirty hit. But no one wants to say anything about it.
The NHL can't keep having random suspensions. It has to be evenly called. I think the review of the Boston Toronto game should end up with DeBrusk suspended for the knee on knee. I don't know how anyone can argue against that.
Kadri shouldn't get anything, much like Foligno didn't and many other players who start scrums the same way. The only difference between the two situations is the whole team didn't gather in the middle of it.</div></div>
Its not a isolated incident however. Ristolainen, Giordano are other incidents that shows that's he too emotional.

Trading Kadri
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dzad96</b></div><div>I say whatever term because I think the cap number they come to is somehwere between 9-10.5, then they decide the term. So for example Dubas would say "We want to pay you 9, how many years would you sign for at that?" Then Marner would say whatever maybe 2 for example. Then Dubas asks how many years would you sign for at 10.5? Marner would say maybe 5.
What I mean is the cap number is going to be between 9-10.5 and the term is decided based on that, not the other way around. You get me?</div></div>
ya i totally understand that and think that's totally reasonable. however my comment in this post was about this particular contract, which isn't 5x10.5, or 2x9. It is 8x10. That isn't reasonable. If you want to say that Marner won't get more than 10.5, I think I agree with you, because I don't think he's signing for max term. I can however agree that 5x10.5 is reasonable and say that 8x10 is a joke. They aren't mutually exclusive.
