How many way outs really are there
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ragsandbluesfan</b></div><div>Who do you trade though? Stone is their best player and possibly future captain, you just commited to patches and he rebounded and you've been through hell and back with marchessault and smith</div></div>
That's fair and I'm not sure I have an answer but id look at Patches. Since he is older, makes significant money and not really someone who has significant history with the team and might be one the most desirable by other teams. If there was a single player who made sense to move I think it is him. But not being a vegas fan Id also look into who ever Tuch has the most chemistry with and move the winger who normally plays with that player as long as it isn't Stone.

Imo, best move is to make room in the top 6 for Tuch while getting back a player for the 3rd line who makes significantly less than who ever they trade. I'd also look into way to grab Haula if they can clear enough space.

Sufficient to say that if a guy gets hurt it should really be no problem to insert a call-up. The issue i see is waiver exemption. We seem to be ok in that regard.</div></div>
Teams will still be required to be cap compliant as far as I can see.

Pretty sure you will need to LTIR anyone who gets injured if you want to call anyone up. That will make things difficult when guys get minor issues and are only expected out a game or so. No backup forwards either. In a year where teams might be playing 3 games in 4 nights.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sean4417 </b></div><div>If that be the case... that the Ducks are expecting an overpayment or nothing then the fact Manson hasnt been dealt yet (by the rebuilding Ducks) is moreso because GMs are not willing to sell the farm for a 'just ok' RD.</div></div>
With the exception of the Ducks fans who think the Ducks should tear down you are going to find that the majority are very much okay with keeping Manson. We know what he can be. He and Lindholm have proven it together. Better to hope he gets back there then trade him for scraps we don't need.

And that said Manson is not worth the Leafs top RD prospect... Muzzin a much better dman cost the Leafs less and that is the comparable any deal for a dman should be based upon when considering what Dubas would realisticly pay</div></div>
So you know what the Ducks should do better then their own GM who has been quoted as not wanting to subtract from his team? The Ducks simply arent selling for futures. I really dont care if Muzzin cost less. The fact is the Ducks arent selling Manson like the Kings were selling Muzzin. If that's all you're willing yo offer, which is fine, but it wont be enough for the Ducks to Part with Manson. Despite what you think of the values. If it was, I imagine he'd already be a Leaf

The Ducks GM has been very open about how where he thinks the Ducks are and he doesn't see them in a position to sell off veterans and even if he does, Decent depth pieces don't help them rebuild. The only team this helps is TOR. If you're selling vets for rebuilds your looking for high end futures thr pick is about the only thing of value for the Ducks.

Newsflash, nothing in that trade makes the Ducks better then they are with Manson who is their top RD. Value aside Ducks wont be trading Manson to Tor for middle tier pieces and that's fine. Ducks are happy to keep him.

Rakell really isn't that much different than Nylander. Nylander had 7 more pts at ES than Rakell on the number 2 offensive team while Rakell played on the 30th ranked offense. If you don't think that has an impact I don't know what to tell you.

Nope, they haven't proven much but all yours have proven to be is establish 3rd liners with no real upside beyond that. All three of our guys I mentioned can already do that to some degree and at least there is a chance they can become more. The players leafs fans try to pawn on us don't do anything for our roster and whats funny is they keep gutting their own depth because they can't afford it because they pay too much for 4 players and they don't event have to pay Reilly Market value yet. The Ducks don't lack middle level talent. Its the high end talent we need. So no the trade doesn't make us better, or younger.

The funny thing is they actually believe it when factually its the opposite and those players would be blocking younger guys with more upside like Steel or Jones or Comtois.

I'm not so sure about that. On the hockey side of things, Trouba has already lost the Top PP unit where he'd likely be the undisputed TOP RS D in Anaheim. On the Private side, CA and specifically OC, has a lot of hospitals. There is a lot to like about Anaheim. I don't think it is an automatic no.

An okay #4 Dman with two years left and a prospect who likely tops out as a defensive 3C for a top line winger? Doesn't seem like a very even swap.</div></div>
It's not rude to have an opinion. I disagree with your evaluation though. Manson has been on the Ducks Top Pair for years. He is a complimentary D man who can handle Tough D zone assignments, PK duties and high end competition as evidenced by his time with Lindholm. The last 2 years have been bad for ALL Ducks players. I think calling him a okay #4 is underselling him. As a Ducks fan, I am only moving Manson IF he brings in a top end talent. If hes not enough to get that conversation started Id much rather keep him.

Can't see the Ducks move the 6th overall unless theyre trying to move up. I went with Lundestrom as I thought he fit Tors needs more than some other guys. Jones is LW. Steel is a more offense center while Lundestrom is a recent first rounder who projects as a 2 way forward. Hes waiver exempt still and gives some center depth. Id probably offer a pick to make up the value between Lundestrom and Steel, which isn't likely very much, to get the deal done.

I really don't. I know people are down on Rakell but He is NOT that much of a downgrade on Nylander by himself and he costs a little more half as much. Lundestrom is near NLC ready as a depth 2 way center who can help sooner rather than later(as a pick would be). The added savings in cap space allows them to further shore up their depth.

These seem pretty reasonable. Though I tend to think the 4th will be Shore/Deslouries-Grant-Rowney and Spong is the healthy scratch who gets spot duty if a top 9er geta dinged up.
