<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Skinaked11</b></div><div>I think the flyers would say No. Giving up a pick and JVR with frost for a Dman on the wrong side of the Age meter. Doesn't make sense for a rebuild/retool. I think JVR and Frost should be plenty to get the deal done. It's not like JVR is scoring only 2 goals a season. He has 12 goals and has been playing with mediocre Centers and Wingers all year.</div></div>
disagree he has little to no value maybe decrease the second to a third or fourth that's fine but can't move jvr without a kicker or prospect and in this instance will be taking hefty money off of Montreal for a few years so yeah feasibly that's a later pick. as for frost im sorry but he's just not that guy

Don’t think COL does the deal then. Ranta is a definitely a boom or bust prospect but damn when he is on the size, speed, and shot are already NHL top line quality. I mean he isn’t untouchable but prefer not to include him in a trade for a 3rd liner.

Look at TB s roster Point Cirelli Killorn were 3rds
So they might really

We have no need for Joel Armia. Even re-signing the superannuated Dustin Brown (who's having a better year than Armia) for one more season would be better than having Armia for 3, and our former captain would probably cost less, too.

Habs would decline that. Replacing Bowers with Foudy and adding a better pick would be more in-range.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMan_MTL</b></div><div>I think your values are a bit low for all the players, but I understand your point of view and response. I'm also curious about Tyler Madden, is he a player that might be moved given the amount of center prospect depth LA has? How does this trade look with him instead? Is he expected to a top 6 forward?
Thanks,
G</div></div>
Kulak is a bottom-pairing UFA defenseman, so if anyone pays what, for example, Los Angeles paid for Brendan Lemieux (who had term) or Anaheim paid for Nic DesLauriers (who had term), he's nuts.
Armia has been enormously unproductive this season and his cap hit is high for a bottom-6 forward.
Hoffman is a one-dimensional player and hasn't been good this year at that.
Now as to your real question:
Here's how our team is shaping up for next season, at this early stage and without, of course, changes that might be made at the trade deadline:
Iafallo - Kopitar - Kempe
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Grundstrom - Byfield - Vilardi (if Dustin Brown doesn't re-sign)
Lemieux - Lizotte - Kaliyev
I can see the slight possibility of Iafallo or Kempe being moved for a high-quality #1 LD, but only if one is available.
So that leaves Turcotte and Kupari as the most likely extras. (All this, of course, subject to change!)
In short, Turcotte, Kupari, Madden and Thomas are all possible trade elements, of different value, of course. (My understanding is that the coaching staff believes that Madden has a middle-6 future in the NHL.)

Just my thoughts, but:
1) Obviously
2) It's only generally accepted among Habs fans. Some dummy might do it, but he's absolutely not worth a 1st unless the Habs are taken a mediocre contract back.
3) Meh, whatever.
4) There isn't a single piece in that trade that should convince LA to move Turcotte.
5) If AA was worth a 2nd+Prospect, why wouldn't LA just do it?
6) Perreault for a 3rd seems like a stretch. In 2013, when he was still productive, he was moved for a 4th and a player that was then non-tendered. He's a 4th liner that *might* get a late pick back.

Hoffman is worth at most a third, Armia at most a fourth and Kulak at most a fifth, inasmuch as they're all unwanted useless mouths, so that entire package doesn't get you Turcotte, but more to the point, none of the three of them is anyone we'd be interested in. Los Angeles wonders why you bothered making the offer.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMan_MTL</b></div><div>I find your emphatic no to the only actual trade that is real made me lol! Our pick in the Dvorak deal is top 10 protected so I don't see any way we don't get it back.
As for the two you questioned:
I think Toronto could use Chiarot as depth for a playoff run. The idea is what the Bolts did last year with Savard. You get a depth defenseman that can play up and down the lineup as an insurance policy. Injuries happen.
As for the Habs acquiring Klingberg, that's more of a fantasy scenario where all the other previous deals happen and the team is flush with picks but no roster players really. The idea is you bring him in as a superior Petry replacement and sign him to a big long contract in the hopes you can rebuild quickly enough to still have him in his prime.
Hope this answers your questions, and explains my crazy logic a bit!
Thanks for the feedback,
G</div></div>
I simply miscounted the No's in all honesty. The dramatic "NO" was meant for the LA trade
I can see Chairot fetching the hefty price he's getting here and rumored to get. But I firmly believe he's not nearly worth it
I see the logic behind the Klingberg trade but I think a team like Montreal should be maximize assets, not trade them for rental who's gonna want a big payday. I think it would make more sense to just gun for him in free agency. The only benefit of acquiring him here is seeing just how well he actually fits but I think if you're going after any guy regardless of who and when, you should already know how/where they're gonna fit your scheme at the very least

No thanks. Hoffman is good on the PP but is pretty bad at everything else. Hes a net negative player and his cap hit would prevent COL from signing a real 2nd line forward in the offseason

Easy no for Minnesota. We don't need to trade rask. Nor are we taking on Christian Dvorak whose not any better than what we have. A player who hasn't played 1 game since January 26 because of mysterious injury. The kings very much say no also

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMan_MTL</b></div><div>Is Strome available? My understanding is that he was being scratched and not playing. What would be fair compensation? What does Chicago need?
G</div></div>
Hes not readily available anymore. The new coach has him playing again and he has looked improved, even got on the scoresheet the other night. Currently it would be hard to say what a fair compensation is based on this but prior to him playing, the fair value was likely a 2nd + 3rd though I am glad that didn't happen as I feel his value is more than that once he is playing in a better system which he is now.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMan_MTL</b></div><div>So you're saying Habs move Hoffman & Chiarot for Strome & Stillman? I honestly don't know Stillman that well, but if he is a strong skating puck moving defenseman with upside I like the idea.

My idea is just get chiarot out, and package him with hoffman for strome and a Blackhawks defenseman. doesn't have to be stillman specifically, but we ideally want a defenseman that can mesh with savard
