Levi can still be signed to his 3yr Entry level I believe. He is only a sophomore. I know he is in his Junior year, but he didn't play his freshman year because of the broken rib suffered at the World Juniors. I could be mistaken though.

That Kuzmenko signing is very risky, based only on very small sample size.

Mittelstadt isn’t worth that high of a pick, he’s barely a 3rd line center at the NHL level and Columbus has plenty of middle 6 centers, unless we expect him to be a massive late bloomer like Thompson, I can’t see him being what Columbus needs.

And one thing. I am pretty sure if Flyers decide to blow up this team, they would want their 2023 2nd round pick back, instead of Sabres`. But that's details

I would see if you could squeeze one of Vegas's Dman out in that trade, instead of picks. Maybe Korczak or Miromanov.

Sure, overall looks good. From Sabres perspective, everything traded away was expendable.
Question if every single trade would go through, because they are connected with each other.
Konecny and Boeser will be on 3rd line, not sure if they would be centered by Krebs in such case.

Why would the Avs want Lehner when Georgiev & Francouz are both playing fine and healthy and they have JoJo or Annunen they can call up? Let alone accommodating a 5 mil cap hit!

Minni has no need for a LHD and not need to take on unwanted cap. What's with the Lehrner trade. It's out for the year and doesn't affect the cap at all.

Sure this could be the line up, Granato will put together the best combinations.
Unless there is a replacement in the press box for Bjork, there is no reason to waive him.

Quoting: sabres89

Pegula passes. 4.75 for the next 3 years isn't awful. Adams won't wanna block the kids, we already have too many Wingers, and we have Rosen from last year, plus 3 centers from this draft- all waiting for a spot. If last year is any indication, 18 goals and 45 points is fine, but it's still only one later first for a declining vet winger that's gonna block half a dozen kids, several of whom were first round picks. I doubt he'd waive anyway, but buffalo isn't a place to dump wingers or left d. Completely agree.

Plus Poltapov, Kisakov, Bloom, Nadeau, Kozak etc.

Quoting: SlevinKalevra

Benn half retained has positive value imo Even a broken watch is correct twice a day, This is one of the few times Shibbal is correct.

Skinner and Olofsson will score more and Asplund and Girgensons are solid defensive LW.
Adding another first and Hakanpää would be nice, but most likely the Sabres would pass.

First, the Sabres had the worse FO% of all NHL teams by a wide margin (there was a bigger difference between 32nd Sabres and 31st Devils than the Devils and 26th Krakens, Faksa won 55.5% of his FO over the past two years.
Second, the Sabres PK ranked 26th last year with a 76.4% success rate. Faksa was one of the Stars top PK forwards.
Third, Faksa is over paid by about $1,000,000 the second is a fair sweetener for that cap hit, but maybe Karmanos could squeeze another pick our of the Stars.
Fourth, I am actually happy that this was not a Robertson trade.

Second, adding Robertson would certainly make Buffalo better.
Third, Buffalo may want to send players and prospects as their prospect pool is really deep.
Finally, Buffalo would be very vulnerable to other teams raiding our players (Cozens, Power, Krebs, Quinn, Savoie, etc.) in a few years, it would be best if Buffalo did not go down this path.
Montreal was severely punished when they did this a couple of years past.

It is even more senseless to respond to him more than once.

You are correct "Kerfoot is significantly better than Hinostroza." But so is his salary!
Buffalo should accept this trade as Vinnie was free and with this trade, Buffalo gets an NHL quality forward and a third (nearly a fourth).
It is unlikely that Karmanos would disrespect Hinostroza as he signed with Buffalo to play for Granato.
@LaffsFan Buffalo should make this trade as it does improve their roster and they get a pick for taking on Alex's salary.

Sabres fans HELP

Quoting: Skyraider112

Very optimistic but I like that. I agree strongly in the quality of Granato as a coach and how much his ability to foster our young players will lead us to be more successful than we "should" be on paper. I really think Quinn is going to blow his rookie season out of the water. He should get a lot of O-zone starts and be playing with some semblance of Cozens, Krebs, Mitts, Olofsson etc. which are all talented players. He can shoot the puck like an elite NHL goal scorer already, and he has the hockey IQ to be in the best spots offensively which will lead him to getting many "easy" goals.

Thank you!
My optimism is based on my eye test and not what the pundits are reporting.
It is difficult to not see the enthusiasm and camaraderie on the ice.
Remove Dell's awful 1-8-1 record from the 32-39-11 season and the Sabres could have been at 82 pts.
Using 82 as a true base line adding Power, Quinn, Lyubushkin and Comrie and Mittelstadt, Krebs, Tuch and Samuelsson for a full season should add an additional 8 pts.

Unfortunately, Buffalo has traveled down this rabbit hole of trading players, picks and prospects for established NHL players, I would pass on this six for one trade just for that reason.
Jason has one 40 goal season in his resume, please explain to me why 18 months younger Jason should be more valuable than DeBrincat who has two such seasons.
The package above is far more than what the Hawks received 7th OA, 2nd and third, Mittelstadt was taken 8th over all, Portillo is a top GK prospect, and a first.
On top of that, a first round LHD Johnson, two time 20 goal LW, and a past winner of the Salming award.
Oh BTW Dallas does not have the cap space to meet his salary requirements.
Stars fans will wail over this, but as a Sabre fan, this is an easy pass.

It would certainly indicate GK would be much better than last year.
Malcolm had a very strong game yesterday stopping all 12 shots against.
He was considered one of Boston's top prospects when he was drafted.
I doubt Quinn beat Olofsson from day 1. While Quinn could find himself in the line up, Peterka would have to knock Asplund out of the line.
If Peterka could do that, the Sabres would have a much stronger forward line up than last year.
Asplund will be in the lineuop over Hinistroza. Or perhaps over Peterka.

More observations.
Brandon Biro played really well yesterday and at 24 he is an older Rookie.
He won 80% of his face offs, and his first goal was a top shelf perfect shot when he was surrounded by four flyers.
Over all a rather disappointing performance.
While two shots found iron there were only 21 shots and 2 goals.
Okposo, Girgensons and Mittelstadt had zero shots.
Jokiharju and Power need to get on the same page.
Owen took out Henri on Konecny's goal leaving Tuch alone on a three on one break out.
Over all Henri did not have a great night, but it was only one game.
