Me neither! It was just a random idea i had, that i think makes sense for both Teams. Dallas has 3 of the best forward prospects in the NHL and they are really close to make the team. If Calgary decides they want to rebuild, the Stars could make the best offer for Tkachuk, but would have to shed some salary to re-sign him. Dobson fills their need for an offensive RHD.

Can’t see CGY making a lateral move like that while taking on an additional year of bad cap.

Panik has a cap hit of $250K, the Islanders have no problem keeping him. Bellows is a steep price for what amounts to 1/3 of an entry-level contract on the cap. The Bailey move is lateral at best and not worth hurting whatever chemistry he brings.

If I was the Islanders I think this would be a low risk, high reward deal. I feel like Sean has more left to give and just needs a new team. Would be interested to see how he does somewhere else. Worse case, its one year at 6 million and another year hold Baileys one million contract.
If am the flames, I'm not sure tho. I feel with how good the UFA pool in 2023 is going be, why add more cap for an average player? Bailey could help with Johnny leaving but he won't be close to the same production.

(PIT/MTL) - Matheson for Petry, Poehling
Matheson was terrible in Florida but was really turning it around in Pittsburgh. I am really interested to see how he works out in Montreal now because it will show whether or not it was him figuring it out or something systemically that the Pens were doing to help him exploit his value. Lot of term at a big aav though to take that risk.
Petry has been good in the past but is old and in decline, but if last year was an abhoration then who knows this could be great for PGH but again a mid term at a very high aav carries a lot of risk.
Just an interesting trade all around with a lot of potential downside for all inolved.

imo we need all sorts of players on the wing and have virtually no talent in those areas. i like pulju because i think it'll be a lower acquisition cost bc it seems like the oilers are actively looking to get rid of him, and IMO he's shown more at the NHL level (he's also had more time there, so that's a factor).

He was moved to wing last year and spent the year in the ahl learning the position. He racked up points down there but made it clear he wasnt happy being moved from center to the wing.
He has some elite skills like puck handling, shooting, passing and finding seams in tight, and setting up down low in the offensive zone. But the coach hates him cause he is quite slow, weak on board battles, and below average in his own zone.
I doubt he will cost very much it seems like time has ran out for him here.
Kings fans are gonna freak if he leaves and puts up big points elsewhere.

I don't think Vilardi is available this summer, but if he had to be moved out, it would take a 1st round pick and a good-but-not-great prospect.

I wouldn’t mind trading for Vilardi but I wouldn’t trade more than a 2nd. He hasn’t shown much in the NHL, would rather trade for a young player who has had good underlying numbers in a bottom 6 role on the verge of breaking out
