Durzi for Sandin
I offer sheeted Durzi to the Stars for $3.75M for 3 years in my fantasy Stars GM team. I also think that Durzi has more value as a dman than Sandin, regardless if he's a RHD or not.

Weegar is 28 now. I don't think he plays another 8 years. I also wouldn't put that much stock in his stats last year as the Panthers were an unstoppable scoring machine. He might now even put that many points up in Dallas. Maybe Weegar on a 3 year extension since he's a UFA next season.

I really don't want Petry to come to Dallas. The last thing Dallas needs is another old ass guy on a 3+ year deal.

Yeah I can see that becoming a reality. It wouldn't be too hard to do either since he only has one year left on his contract. Would be a perfect rental for a contending team if they could fit it in their cap.

And them bringing in Gaudreau means they’re trying to ice a playoff team. They should be doing whatever they can to sign Laine, because he fits that timeline.</div></div>
I agree with you that they should be trying to sign Laine, whatever it takes.

Offersheet for Liljegren
This is very interesting and could work out favorably for the Stars if executed. It is pretty dicey though. Does Toronto value him at $4.2M and trade someone to keep him. Highly unlikely due to TOR having about $7.6M in cap space BEFORE signing anyone. Reilly's extension kicks man forwards are on RFA/UFA deals. On the other hand, he has 24 points in 74 GP across 3 seasons, but this season was pretty much the sample size of his career. Giving him $4.2M is a big gamble all in itself off of just one good year with a good offensive team. I'd only like this deal if he shows continuous progress for DAL next year, especially since we'd only be giving up a second round pick.

Buying out Suter and Faksa would hinder us in the long-term. Our best bet is to trade those two to a floor team, Suter obviously would be a little more trickier since he has a NMC. Either way, we'd probably have to ship out some picks with them.

Perfect World Kraken!
Yes, this is my perfect expansion draft where Ryan Johansen re-finds his mojo on a newer team, Tarasenko gets his surgery and rehabs and is ready by the time the Playoffs are upon us. Drouin comes back to the NHL and is ready to go after some miracle Buddha stuff happening with Seattle being a new club. Not to mention these picks make them a deep team with something to prove.
My top 6 dman I would hope for on opening night would probably be as follows:
Klefbom---Hamilton
Oleksiak--Gio
Dermott-Osterle
Feel free to hate/love my draft picks with some constructive criticism and remember some of these guys wont even suit up for the Kraken.

Bro this team looks very good on paper. I'm not sure if they can sustain this cap with some key RFAs they would need to sign next year. Do they resign Foligno next year or part with him to make way for youth signings? Do they trade a guy like Nyquist or Atkinson? If they can, then watch out.

With Seguin out you have to find offense somewhere. I’ve seen Hintz and Gurianov handicapped by slow line mates too many times. They need to run.
The entire western conference got better today. We got another day older and slower.</div></div>
The trade for Zuch is not worth it. That contract duration sucks and we'll have many young guns making the roster either this year or next. A new wave of youth is about to hit Dallas. By the time these contracts of Rads, Pavs, Cogs, Comeau are up, we'll have money to give to them. In 3 years both goalies will be done and Otter and Point should already be incorporated in the mix. If you want to get some scoring, go out and get a guy in his prime to be a leader, like a Toffoli type guy.

I would honestly sell out at this point an cash Seguin in for assets because I don't see them besting St. Louis, Nashville, or Winnipeg this season. It's a good thing you're not the GM then. I'd say the Stars are about two good trades away from being a solid contender.

SJS could always move him at the deadline, just a rental option. It's unlikely this trade goes through but I would love for it to. For the Philly trade, it all depends if they see Ritchie as a scoring 3rd liner or a grinder 4th liner. All I know is Jim Nill can sweet talk a trade if he really wants to.

Put Hanzal in LTIR. He's having spinal surgery for some rare condition with a timeline of about 8 months recovery. He may or may not retire afterwards.

Would appreciate constructive criticism and not "these trades suck". Went out and traded for that much needed forward depth. I'm not too sure if the price is a little lacking on our part for the Meier trade, but a 3rd instead of a 4th may well be worth it. SJS will have the cap space to get some good pieces via Free Agency. In all liklihood, the Stars try Spezza as the second line C again and see what happens. I can forsee Faksa getting more ice time and responsibilities. Hopefully Honka shows us what he's made of. I'm not 100 percent sold Val will be great or ready for the second line, but Meier showed some potential last year and might have a breakout season.

Can't really speak on the other trades outside of I'm not sure why the Flyers would want to be in on Spezza.</div></div>
I would personally like to see us get lucky and draft Veleno.

I like the trades with the exception of trading down at the draft. You say we need to address the C position. Well you did that with trading for Tyler Johnson, but you want to trade down to get a center? Not likely. There are tons of defenseman and good wingers in the draft. Plus Dallas has plenty of young centers in Faksa, Smith, and Dickinson. That being said I'm not sure Tampa gives up Johnson, regardless the return. Sure they have Brayden Point, but is he ready to take that 2nd line C spot?
Other than that I'm a fan. I would rather Rads stay on the top line and see how Val does on the second RW spot with JVR and Johnson.

Firstly, Radulov has been in Dallas for one year and they finally found that RW to play alongside Seguin and Benn. To make that one work you'd have to give up a 1st round pick and maybe a decent defenseman, not Phaneuf or maybe a second and 2nd line Def. The other two might work but depends on how willing MTL is of letting Paches and Drouin go.

I don't see this happening. Nichuskin still has one more year on his KHL contract. If he was coming back, we'd have heard about it by now. Two, after we sign our remaining 4 RFA's, even if we did trade them, we wouldn't be able to sign Iginla or Jokinen. I'd prefer Jokinen. Seguin is our #1 center!
