Even if Hyman has more value then Campbell has negative value you’re getting a hell of a discount on marner and woll at 3 1sts and 2 2nds

Oilers TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Eclipze</b></div><div>The oilers would have almost 17M in cap space for next season. Add Barrie to the trade and if I were the Sabres GM, I would give you the 3rd and 5th for Smith and Rodrigue.

Oilers TDL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Zmach</b></div><div>edmonton does not want matt murray at all.</div></div>
Why not?
Since April 1st 2021, Murray has a 0.926 SV% which is top-5 in the whole NHL (among 82 NHL goalies who played at least 10 games)
Need an even bigger sample size?
Since February 4th 2021, Matt Murray has a 0.913 SV%, which is 23rd (among 82 NHL goalies who played at least 10 games)
Problem with this proposal is it doesn't consider the Oilers cap situation the following 2 years
I sure wish Murray's salary was lower (but not that big of a deal outside of Melnyk's pockets) but Sens don't do this trade.

Sabres fan here
-highly doubt we give u a 5th
-and i don’t see ANY chance we’re remotely interested in that prospect. We have Levi AND Portillo about to sign- & they’re both ripping up the NCAA. Meanwhile, the prospect u wanna give us is in the echl bc he can’t hack it in the AHL
-i think we’d much rather just have a draft pick

edmonton does not want matt murray at all. I would say edmonton would have some interest in forsberg especially considering they signed him.
RNH is a 3C now he wont be going back to LW. Edmonton is going to likely acquire another scoring winger this TDL or in the offseason.
I think players like Kulak or mark Pysyk are the caliber of Dmen edmonton will get.

Three year slump, LOL.
You know who's really hot right now? Matt Murray. But I wouldn't trade for him either.
Edmonton declines. Binnington is performing worse than Koskinen this year. Ew.

I mean im fine with taking on contracts to offset murray but im in the same boat as <a href="/users/csick" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">@csick</a> in that im not moving both goalies at once, or JBD unless its for a now roster upgrade. also savoie is really good dont think the oilers should trade him

I don’t think I’d trade JBD unless it’s in a package for a top 6F. Not into a prospect swap tbh. Also doubt Ottawa is moving 2 goalies in 1 deal

Price trades for fun
You’re going to get at most 2 2nds even at 50% retained, there’s just no market for him with the uncertainty. Fleury was given away for free, in an expansion draft then a trade after winning a vezina. Price in his current state has no value, you’d need him to come back and show vezina caliber form to even get to the two 2’s valuation. He’s old, has a mountain of issues (hope he gets well), and his contact is ridiculous. Habs fans will be disappointed

I just don't think that'll get Strome too. That Hawks will just take Strome to arbitration then. I understand we can't just look at last night to value Strome. I just also know that Hawks management has really messed around with that kid. He's not winning a Selke...we all get that, but they just played soo many games with him. He's a SOLID point producer and great vision/passing. If he played next to a speedster it was be and awesome combination.

We would have to take on at least one more bad contract + add a pick get to Holloway, and that's Edmonton being generous, they REALLY like Holloway.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Just_a_Hockey_Fan_1</b></div><div>That’s a massive overpayment by Edmonton. Add Paul and Watson and it might come close.</div></div>
If you break it up as Savoie and the 1st for Brown and Bourgault for JBD, that leaves Ottawa getting paid Foegele and giving up Forsberg to take on Barrie. I dont see it as a massive overpayment but I also wouldnt be opposed to Ottawa adding something to make up for the difference between what JBD is now and what Bourgault is projected to be.

Edmonton Blockbuster
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>justaBoss</b></div><div>I think it's pretty meh for Dallas all things considered.
Barrie and Koskinen are just plain old bad. I see Oilers fans dumping Barrie for a 5th or so.
Broberg isn't developing as planned and as LHD I see a little room for him.
Yamamoto would fall under the same niche as Gurianov in our system, so we won't get much out of him, plus he's due for an extension this year.
It's not the worst package I've seen but imo we could do a lot better dealing these assets separately.</div></div>
Wow, that's a biased take.
- Barrie is worth more than Klingberg. They're about equal defensively while Barrie is better offensively, plus Barrie has term and isn't demanding a ridiculous contract next summer.
- I'm not sure what your expectations were for Broberg, but his scoring in the AHL at age 20 is in the top-20 all time and in the range of guys like Theodore, Dumba, Gonchar, Subban, Bouchard and Barrie; ahead of notable names like DeAngelo, Dunn, Ellis, Weber and Josi. He's a top-flight prospect.
