I can definitely respect that, Miller's value definitely has grown but Niemela at least imo is going to be a very high top 4 if not top 2 offensive Defence man who just needs a solid shut down partner to play with him. The big kicker for everyone is that he's right handed which is so valuable because it is so hard to find good top 4 d that can move the puck.

I thought the same thing along with him being a hometown guy.

There is no way that the leafs trade knies or niemela unless it's for Jacob Chychrun. I can see how you feel it may be undervalued I respect that, but Canucks fans at the same time overvalue his value. If Niemela in your proposed trade switches to Kerfoot then I'd definitely be willing to move the 2 high picks plus a pretty good prospect in Hirvonen.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>adamorimoli61</b></div><div>I like the idea of the Killorn trade, but we might have to give up a bit more to the team retaining the money (in this case Detroit).
Also, maybe its a better idea to go after a more "available" guy like Yanni Gourde. I'd say he probably fits nicer and it allows us to replace Kerfoot at 3C, since Haula at 1.5 doesn't seem very realistic. Just a thought.</div></div>
I believe Killorn is more availble imo, and has ties to the Toronto area, and would waive his nmc I believe. I agree Probaly would have to give up more in terms of a higher pick or more prospects. But gourdes to pricey imo, and Haula had a down year, a couple years in Toronto to build back up his value on a checking line with some pp would allow him for a chance at one final pay day. But I can understand why you think it’s unrealistic. It factors into him betting on himself and Toronto as a team.

Dermotts more likely to be picked imo. And the sharks would be if they don’t go into a rebuild mode imo again. Would fit nice in the 3C hole behind couture and hertl, and even play the wing if need be.

As a leafs fan of course I’m not. But I’m not overly drastic, as I said. The 5 guys I brought back showed they have heart and want to win and r good pieces to the puzzle. The other 3 guys and Coleman r good hard nosed guys who improve the bottom six and a solid tandem goalie partner for Campbell and to push him.

Honestly the most sensible option for the Ducks is probably Rakell for Robertson 1-on-1, should they trade with the Leafs. What the Ducks need the most is a young scoring winger, and I dunno if any but Robertson fits the bill from the Leafs.
Don't think the Leafs would be interested in that though.</div></div>

Literally called line matching dude. You can do that on the road as well even though yes it’s much harder. Rielly isn’t sheltered lmao. He literally gets double shifted and gets extra shifts with the bottom pair (replacing one of them obviously) all the time. And they even use him on the pk a bit. They try and limit him from that as a way to use him more 5 on 5.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Sorry, I can't see the logic that just because Sandin makes the Leafs full time next year, Liljegren is traded. Leafs might lose 3 of top 7 by this summer so replacements are needed. Teams need eight NHL competent Dmen to make it through an NHL season. There is lots of playing time for both Liljegren and Sandin. Really this "bottom pair" scenario is pure nonsense. Dermot who in the past two seasons played "bottom pair" behind LHD Reilly and Muzzin played 17 minutes a game. Gee, when playing 17 minutes a game, you can't call those sheltered minutes.</div></div>
I agree about the 8 D hence why they’ll sign guys to league minimums near the end of there career for depth. And 17 minutes is sheltered when playing against 3-4 liners the whole time with no pp time and little to no pk.

Petan has yes but on most teams is a 4th liner (ones that value skill) and Engvall is a guy you can move all around your bottom six. The late second does do something for Calgary and if you really must they could add a middle talent prospect.

Nonsense that Liljegren needs a "fresh start". He's at the development stage, no different than most other player selected where he was in his draft year. The Leafs might need him this season, and with Lehtonen and Bogosian UFA next summer, and the possible loss of either Dermot or Holl to expansion, Liljegren certainly is needed by the Leafs</div></div>
Bennett would literally need to work on his faceoffs and D position to play for the leafs. From his talent he’d be able to do it easy. Liljgren will be traded, Sandin is farther along in the developmental process players nowadays from where he was drafted should be in the nhl sheltered on the bottom pair. Yes the leafs stacked up, however they won’t be playing him with Sandin on the bottom pair next year, which is where Sandin will play. When they drafted him it was who I wanted, I still want him to be apart of the future just logically speaking can’t see it.

I agree completely it’s just a chance to explore a possible trade. However to get Forsberg you’d have to give up that as Nashville would want a reason to do it.

Nashville is exploring trades why I explored this trade they will want more since they want to re-tool on the fly. If you read my description you’d see and understand they won’t have room for Them or Dermott would possibly be picked by Seattle at the expansion draft. Bennett can and will be a solid 3C for someone just needs a change of scenery on a strong team who has patience to properly develop him as a center.
