(MTL/ANA) - Deslauriers for 4th round pick
I just never liked this player... I remember Kings moved him w/ another scrub in trade for McNabb... One of the few they won... They got back the 2nd round picks they gave up for Robyn Regehr too :)... I know one of them was like a converted D-man or winger... This guy will flop, so might as well get something for nothing ;).

(BUF/NYR) - 2021 3rd round pick for Vesey
I thought Vesey was decent, also people should know Buffalo relies on trades since not many want to play there or sign as free agents :)... I guess the last big splash they made was Zhitnik or whatever his name maybe ;)? They had that really expensive contract maybe it was former Kings/Sharks D-man... The German guy, Ehrhoff or something I think it was ;). Mall Moulson didn't pan out for them who I remember wanting Kings to get years ago so :). He was real friends w/ Quick even having like wives that were friends or sisters :).

(PIT/ARI) - Kessel, Birks, 2021 4th for Galchenyuk, Joseph
I think its a fair deal that Penguins win if that 1st round D-man ever pans out... Kessel they already got like 2 cups so what else can they do either win another cup or they lose? He always looks kinda fat or obese to me in pics... Like Grimace or so from McDonalds, I don't know if he is really fat or out of shape or its just a perception... They savaged him in Toronto till they finally traded him... I remember when he was supposed to be like a real super star legend top tier player.. Coyotes were cusp of playoffs so this move might get them over hump now... Knights suck on defense, got nothing in net, injury prone Fleury what are the odds he plays 30 ore more games :)? Penguins had to move this guy after all the hostility related to him... Maybe the Russian has chemistry w/ Malkin... He should score 20-30+ goals I think on team like Penguins :)... 25 goals at worse would be my guess for him, Kessel can boom or bust without much around him compared to Penguins...

(MTL/CHI) - Shaw and 2021 7th round pick for 2020 2nd, 7th round pick, and 2021 3rd round pick
I always thought Shaw belonged on Chicago he was tough to face for Kings when they were SCF level franchise... I was so glad when they got rid of him because of what he said... Chicago had to run him out of town on a rail now they want to win so welcome home ;). WEird somebody had a batman picture that would hijack this post when I first clicked on it... IT would just keep showing that picture unable to return or do anything :)...

(TOR/COL) - Kadri, Rosén 2020 3rd for Kerfoot, Barrie 2020 6th
I no longer consider Colorado a favorite in West to win after this horrible idiotic move even retaining money :)? Maple Leafs really smart ditching trash for cash w/ Kadri a cancer getting moved... HE would always get some stupid penalty or get suspended, he is not a top center in my book either... Its like trash Reaves on Vegas or Blues would cause the refs to call more penalties on them cuz of their reputation etc... Also they infect or rub off on entire team, Colorado should just sign Raffi Torress get it over with... Maybe call Wideman that D-man who shot right that never got back in NHL for that incident w/ Ref getting in his way :).
Wow I would be so mad if I was fan of Colorado, Stars fans should be jumping up and down :)... They are the favorite now in the west I would think since Predators got a gaping hole in net ;)...

(OTT/TOR) - Ceci, Harpur, Luchuk and 2020 3rd round pick for Zaitsev, Brown, Carcone
Leafs making some bold moves I really like this... Cody Ceci was like always treated badly, when did fantasy it seemed idiots would make him healthy scratch... Yet if he played he would usually produce some points? Guy has scored 10 goals before, shoots right, lets them move a guy making 4.5M who seemed hated too :).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>I'm glad to see him get a fair chance. He was buried on Anaheim's depth chart behind Fowler, Lindholm, Guhle, Larsson and Mahura.</div></div>
Good he has a pretty open path w/ Vegas having nothing secure on the blue line... HOldin or so was healthy scratch like 2 weeks or longer... Other guys will be lucky if they are still in NHL in another 3-5 years besides McNabb who is probably their best value left... I was kinda hoping they would sign Heed over Sharks but that is life ;)...

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rangersandislesfan</b></div><div>Wait, CF isn't showing Engelland on the Knights. I thought he re-signed though?</div></div>
I heard he resigned but maybe he is waiting for them to have enough cap space... They can't put Clarkson on LTIR until season starts so it might be a factor... Vegas isn't making the playoffs in the upcoming season so its probably me since I started the poll... Also Miller to replace w/ a player at less value will cost 4.5M to 5M+ on cap if look at Cody Ceci/Zaitsev's contracts... So moving a guy like him shows me Vegas has no clue what its doing or how economics work :)...

Dallas Stars signed Corey Perry (1 Year / $3,250,000 AAV)
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>rangersandislesfan</b></div><div>Do performance bonuses count against the cap?</div></div>
You should know that having over 2.1K posts on a cap related site that explain it in detail if look around for information :). I'm pretty sure they count if player reaches the bonuses... Though it can carry over into the next year cap... I know a few teams if they go over the prior year cap will have to pay the penalties out for next one... So if went 500K over cap then only have 81M this year not 81.5M. It can get confusing or complicated but I don't think it will matter w/ Perry's being pretty minor...

Vegas Golden Knights signed Tomas Nosek (1 Year / $1,000,000 AAV)
This is the guy they took over Mrazek so at least they were able to keep him at a decent cost... I"m not a huge fan of him, yet they lost some depth players on forward which was already pretty pathetic and thing... When Trash Reaves is among top 3-4 people in games played w/ 3/9 goals on PP It shows team has no clue what its doing from top down :)... I hope they can trade him at deadline for something when they are in last place in Pacific and NHL :)...

San Jose Sharks signed Tim Heed (1 Year / $960,000 AAV)
I really like Heed he can produce points on PP or play 10 minutes a game w/ Karl/Burns on right side ahead of him... I thought he might be best value of the d-men on free agent market considering how much most will want or cost... Sharks I was surprised were able to keep him, figured Kings or some other team would sign him... I don't see why Vegas couldn't get him for this kinda money he would easily be starting in their weak pathetic top 4-6 they call a defense :)...

Vegas Golden Knights signed Brandon Pirri (2 Years / $775,000 AAV)
I don't get why the player signed this deal? Trash REaves was among the leaders in games played for Vegas like top 3-4 players... He had 3 goals on the PP out of his 9... So I just don't get it, he wont get a fair shake w/ Goon Gallant as the coach... Its like trying to play a BEta on VHS, hopefully he can get traded at deadline when VEgas is in dead last to a team that will let him play :)? Either way he is better than most of what Vegas has on 3rd/4th line not to mention blue line haha... Too bad they can't move him to defense to show them how to score some points ;).

Dallas Stars signed Joe Pavelski (3 Years / $7,000,000 AAV)
I'm not really upset about Joe leaving Sharks since he was always hurt or not producing when they needed him most... Too small to play in the west where the big boys play :)... Stars are smart to give him a shot at a decent cap hit... They were often weak since they lacked a decent defense, they had - ratings that looked like something would find from an expansion team... They improved the defense/got Vezina level goalie in Bishop building from net/blue line out... Though would always have that 1 line label of Benn/Seguin, Radalov w/ a few not chipping in quite enough... Joe can be a background player like Logan Couture who would often be guy that carried Sharks now... I forget who broke there hand in the fight w/ Richards if it was Pavelski or Logan... Either way he was one of my favorite Sharks players all time w/ Burns, Logan Couture, probably Jeff Friesen among others in that mix :).
Good luck to Stars, I liked them from Minnesota North Stars w/ Carey or Casey whatever that gambling goalie's name was... He would do some aggressive stuff coming out of net, diving at people heh. Then they like split into Stars/Sharks, Belfour won Cup beating his backup goalie in Haskey so hopefully Bishop will get his Cup w/ Stars that eluded him on Tampa... He would always get hurt it seemed in the playoffs on some fluke freaking play saving a shot or somebody colliding with him...

Vegas gets another guy who can potentially be an actual #1 D-man since they got a bunch of #4's at best if that :)... Maybe if they keep throwing minimal money at these guys one of them will pan out for like 2 goals 10 assists like Engellend gave them :).

Vegas will be wishing they had him over Nosek or Fleury sooner than later... Glad he got to stay with team where he managed to go on a nice run... Winning 4 times as many games vs. CApitals as washed up Fleury managed to do :)... Nice story of a guy who wasn't wanted by Detroit, snubbed in expansion draft, finally finding a hope with a bunch of Jerks ;)>

San Jose Sharks signed Timo Meier (4 Years / $6,000,000 AAV)
I saw people calling this a steal but I think its an alright deal... Something like Wild Bill at 8 years for under 6M maybe is a steal but this isn't... HE got a decent amt of money, I think they would have to tender him 10M a year at end of this or some BS... Sharks got to try to win a Cup before Seattle comes in, I think that window slammed shut a while back... Though they sunk a lot of money into a few players trying to get a cup within next few years... If they are in shambles at end of this contract they can probably still move him for value if he has any :).

Stars look like an off season favorite w/ Colorado doing that stupid Barrie trade... I like this, Perry is a red headed step child horrible person that is a real annoying player... He sets people off, throws them off their game... He probably still can score 20-40 goals but 10-20 is more realistic... Stars wanted a bit more grit, they used to have like Haula or Eakin I can't remember anymore. Seeing all the antics Dirty Blues got away with I can't blame them for wanting a total A-hole ;). For the money/bonus, Stars trying to win now w/ Bishop in Vezina level ability its smart...

New York Rangers signed Artemi Panarin (7 Years / $11,642,857 AAV)
This guy is like a 160 pounds when he got traded for Saad... Rangers had a lot of help from NHL but can even that keep this guy healthy or producing ;)? Islanders dodged a bullet since he would have been another Yashin for them... Should be interesting to see how this pans out, he sure got bread for being nothing special in my book. Nobody wins paying a player over 10/11% of current cap unless count fantasy hockey... Rangers will be really rebuilding in a few years from contracts like this and the gem Shattenkirk one ;).

Worse case scenario they can play him twice a year to easily beat Kings... I always liked this guy, he got a shot to start in playoffs but didn't get results he hoped for... Price being injury prone, Montreal making some moves to compete for Cup this works out for them like Tatar for Max :).

I like this move for Predators dump 9M for Subban to sign better player for 8M when already have a decent stacked defense... He is getting less than 10% of the current cap so for his level of player its not really a bad deal... I'm not a huge fan of his, nor the team that signed him...
