Working Is Overrated Pt 2
Necas is a dynamo with puck and with controlled entries. If I’m being honest - it’s too much. It weird, but I think it’s a determent on the PP because I think the other guys just assume he’s getting past the blue line.
The contract number is an enigma…I could see him being hard and forcing Arb. Considering the Canes slid his ELC 2 years and bridged him, he’s only made $5.8m in his entire career.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ColeParz</b></div><div>What is your thought on Necas' number? Also what do you think of his transition game? Canucks need more help with controlled zone entries.</div></div>

I think if both VAN/CAR are given the option to talk contract with the RFAs, and talks are positive - I think this makes a ton of sense for both teams. However, I think both teams are going to be uneasy with the players contract requests.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>spockrock</b></div><div>That’s actually kinda interesting, but I doubt the Canes are going to be giving Hronek the $8M he seeks, so likely moot regardless</div></div>

Bridge Deal for Hronek
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ColeParz</b></div><div>I wouldn't pay him over 6. Trade his rights if that's what he wants. Not good enough below the dots. Not big enough or good enough skater to make the plays required.</div></div>
I agree. Rumour is that he turned down 8mil in March.

Agree Necas probably looking for 7+ but also wondering who would actually give it to him. Undeniably skilled and has shown flashes but also very inconsistent to be given that type of money long term. Will be interested to see how it plays out - could see them letting him negotiate with teams potentially and finding out he’s not getting $50M guaranteed anywhere lol
Also think Guentzel is looking for a deal in the upper 50Ms, so this is probably light.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac555</b></div><div>I prefer to not be lumped together with the rest of Canes fans. I think this is a bad trade for the Canucks. But hey, at least you’re getting a 5th with Necas.</div></div>
Ditto. Don’t listen to the loud minority of the population!

I do like the idea of Hronek for Necas… I wonder if it could be had as a 1for1 trade. Both players fill needs for each team. Vancouver gets a top 6 forward to play with Pettersson, and Carolina gets a top 4 RHD to replace Pesce, assuming he leaves. Also, a top 4 of Slavin, Hronek, Nikishin, and Morrow is pretty good for years to come.

Lol yes fair enough. It's not everyone. I've been on the canes subreddit and it's much more realistic there. There are just a few very vocal canes fans on this site that can be super unrealistic.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ColeParz</b></div><div>I would agree 100% here man. I wouldn't mind losing those pieces and hoping to get a fresh start for Necas. Love me some Nils but their window is the next 3 years with Hughes under a cheap contract. Is Nils going to rise his stock that much to have a line that any team would struggle to shut down? I'm not so sure of that. After watching the 2nd half and playoffs, offensive firepower is exactly what Vancouver needs.</div></div>
I agree Necas should be a target but personally I wouldn't move Hoglander to dump Mikheyev (with salary retention). Honestly just better off buying out Mikheyev if we're going to retain that much and still pay a prime asset to get rid of him.
Necas and Hronek trade value will be very similar. Both are talented players and pending RFA's with high contract demands. Both have some undeniable flaws that are going to make those contracts a bit risk.
I think you can argue whether the canes would be interested in Hronek (they only have 40yr old burns and rookie Morrow on the right side right now so I find it hard to believe they wouldn't have some level of interest in a 26yr old top 4 dman). I think you could argue about adding in a mid round pick or prospect on either side as well but ultimately the value between the two is pretty equal give or take some minor pieces.

I'm all for acquiring him but Canes fans acting like they have Jack Eichel as an asset here.</div></div>

Pettersson was playing injured and his linemates for most of the playoffs were Mikheyev, Lafferty, Karlsson, and Hoglander (who was on a cold streak). He was playing much better the last couple games of the Edmonton series. He was also over a PPG in the playoffs in the bubble

I recommend keeping Hronek. If you dump Mikheyev then you can afford to bring back him, Lindholm, and Zadorov. Tanev can be had for at least $1 million less aav as well.
