<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CJ1909</b></div><div>Zero chance that VAN would require more than this.... lets breakdown the value
Horvat - worth 1st, maybe middle round pick
Kuzmenko - worth 1st
Schenn - worth 2nd/3rd
Miller - negative value and VAN would need to add something to have a team take him or eat a cap dump from another team

Dumba - worth a 1st
Lambois - 1st rounder and probably 2nd rated prospect behind Rossi in MN system
Ohgren - 1st rounder and probably 3rd/4th rated prospect in MN system

This would mean MN is giving up basically 4 1sts and a 4th.... No way! Taking on JT Miller eliminates a 1st in the players above and at best is maybe Dumba, 1 high prospect, a 1st and maybe a 3/4/5 rd pick -- This still wouldn't make sense for MN as they cannot afford Miller at $8M next year, Horvat at $8M (most likely or higher). Giving up all these assets for a couple of rentals.... come on now?!?!?</div></div>

Why would Dumba be of interest to a Vancouver team that is trying to tank in this scenario? And it seems like Guerin would hit the lottery before he'd get a 1st for Dumba without retention

Lambos was a late 1st with injury concerns at a position of damn near surplus for Vancouver

Ohgren would most definitely be the most enticing piece offered here and winger isn't a huge need for Vancouver.

And the 1st is late

And again, this deal literally doesn't work for Minnesota

So not only would Vancouver want a center prospect (Rossi, likely) and more value in general (they aren't paying to get rid of Miller either) but Minnesota shouldn't ads that value nor can they even afford this trade

It's bad all around. I never said Minnesota should be adding either, they shouldn't even go for this

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Upper_Body_Injury</b></div><div>Ok let me clarify, he may very well get a first and more at the TDL in another trade what I was referring to was the the trade in this post...As MNBassman said the "the difference between Dumba and Kuzmenko" I don't think its a 23 1st.

And yes most of the trades around the TDL like the Hagel trade are crazy most of the teams buying tend to overpay for that extra push at improving right now. And for this deal in the post I just don't see it happening not at that price, if the Wild are going to give up a first I would expect Horvat, even though I think the Wild shouldn't trade for him being that we could never re-sign him....but that is for another day.</div></div>

I agree with the notion that the Wild shouldn't be in the running for the title of biggest buyers or really buying at all at the TDL but this is Capfriendly, and it's all really just hypotheticals and fantasy

Regardless, about the trade itself: The problem with a Dumba-Kuzmenko trade base is that if Kuzmenko is traded out, I highly doubt Vancouver would want to take pending UFA's that aren't legit cap dumps as a Kuzmenko trade on top of an inevitable Horvat trade signals at least a quick rebuild/tank on Vancouver's part. Bringing in a top 4 dman doesn't help that. So in a vacuum I'd agree that the difference in value probably isn't a 1st. And Shaw's more valuable to the Wild's roster than he is on the trade market imo. I think Schenn would likely fetch a fair but more

And to break it down further, i think Kuzmenko's value is probably a 1st+, and I could see Schenn fetching upwards of a 2nd. Dumba could MAYBE return a 1st, but that might have to include retention. Shaw, again, probably doesn't have much value in an actual trade. So not only is Vancouver (imo) giving up much more value in terms of players in this swap but also eating over $4M in salary cap.
