I wasn’t super high on him when he was selected but that’s why I’ll be on the couch watching the game tonight

Named New President and GM
If the Ducks had offered that, then Eichel would've been a Duck months ago. But they didn't. And Zegras and Drysdale wouldn't be included in a trade. Those lines have some major issues. Mainly the absence of Drysdale. I doubt he'll get sent to the OHL. And this team isn't better than before. Considering the absence of the high picks and Zegras and Lundeström, the team's future actually looks worse.
Bouchard will probably get Eakins job if he isn't resigned (I doubt it). I think that's his plan as well. He want's to be an NHL head coach. He didn't get the chance to be that with the Candiens, so he coaches the Gulls and hopes to be Eakin's replacement. And some of the GM'S staff should stay imo. Madden has been solid and he is good at drafting. Solomon was just hired and it seems like he has done well so far.

The ducks. That’s 2 top 5 picks plus Comtois and Tracey. Eichel is missing a big part of next season if not all because of his surgery.

My Eichel trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>kedogs00</b></div><div>that package is missing Zegras. Even if you take out Olofsson, it's still not very close.</div></div>
As a Buffalo fan, he’s not getting Zegras or Drysdale….at this point, the Sabres have little leverage and they’d be lucky to get McTavish. We can say they don’t have to trade him, but that “leverage” goes down the toilet when it’s been made clear the team does not want him on the roster to ever play another game for Buffalo again
A fair offer would be Comtois, Lundestrom, Terry, or Groulx and Dostal with a conditional first

Eichel
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BuckoJoyde</b></div><div>im happy to hear. Think Dostal is a perfect successor to gibby and rather keep a top 5 pick for the 2022 draft. Lets work together to spread the word thatour two rebuilding franchises are not meant to make this trade. Im curious...what is your actual prediction for the Eichel trade? Team? Most valuable asset in return? Be specific if you can.</div></div>
I don’t have a prediction
But Minny & Anaheim seem like the most likely spots to me
With Minny, it would have to include Rossi or Boldy (or both)
With Anaheim, I’d say Zegras, Drysdale, McTavish (or a combo)
I can’t see Buffalo letting him go without getting top notch assets back
We can always just keep him (even though that’s not ideal)
He’s under contract for 5 more years, so there’s no real hurry to move him
And the NMC doesn’t worry me at all- not till the last year of his deal anyways
If he really wants out, he’ll waive to a decent place rather than continue losing here
That’s all just my opinion of course

Lots of room for these young forwards to step up. There are still assets to unload at the deadline. This is a good time to be bad, also. In a few seasons you can have a promising young lineup with maybe Wright or Bedard, lure in some FA with the best weather in the world, throw in a new jersey/logo and you're back in action.

I know they just got Levi but he’s only 19. Dostal is pretty close to ready. I’m not sure where they sit with Lukkonen and his .888 sv% in the AHL this past season.

No. Players don’t care about that stuff as much as ppl think. They either follow the money or go to the good teams. If the Sabres build the team properly and are winning, no one will care about Jack eichel’s situation anymore.
Also, UFAs are fools gold anyway. They’re always overpaid and put your team in cap trouble. Good teams are built in the draft

Eichel doesn't go to Anaheim without one of Zegras, Drysdale, or the 3rd overall. Period. Buffalo would send him elsewhere.

We don't have $12 million in cap space ($15.4 million minus $3.4 million). And management has already made it clear that we're not trading Zegras or Drysdale or Gibson, and there are strong indications that we won't be trading Comtois, either.

Next years line-up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jah1722</b></div><div>I think the ducks need to move Manson before the expansion draft. If they find a deal they won’t lose anything of significance. Manson still has decent trade value even if it isn’t the 1st rounder GMBM was looking for. If he gets moved all the young fwds can be protected and the 3 LHD, Lindholm Fowler and Fleury. If Manson isn’t moved they may be forced to go 4-4-1.
It sounds like if Eichel gets traded Reinhart will want out too. They should look at both of them. If Eichel’s price is too rich then Reinhart is still quality enough to go after. Personally I think the ducks need another top line fwd as I think Comtois and Terry shouldn’t both be top liners. I feel like they’re more 4th fwds that could handle top line but on a playoff team are more suited for 2nd line.</div></div>
Don't see Eichel as reachable (we'd never give up the assets to acquire him), but would gladly give up this year's 1st+ to get him. I expect they'll want Zegras+, which I would do of course. I think an offer of Zegras + 1st + another roster player would be a very strong offer and not as punishing as people may think. Of course the high pick in the draft is nice, but if you're going to give up a high pick this is the year to do it and for an elite franchise C. That said, you've got to wonder about Eichel's health and his desire to play for another current bottom-feeder.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BuckoJoyde</b></div><div>Grant?!?!?!? He was our worst player this year. numbas dont lie.
For the post
1. I would only want OP in the 2-4 range. Really prefer Beniers(cant spell) over anyone in the top 4. Could see Hughes being a possibility.
2. I love the idea of using jones, Steel, Milano, or Lundeström as trade bait to have Seattle swallow up a contract. Very unlikely tho. If we had to lose a player straight up Mahura is the likely candidate. Wouldnt mind if its Steel. Dont see him having a future with this team.
3. Warm body? Ouch...he wasn't that bad this year. We sent him to production hell with grit and veteran presence on the 4th line there.
4. No big signings...... no big trades. You know the deal this is ducks hockey.</div></div>
1. I like Hughes, but now I am higher on Clarke. The injury to Hughes is a concern and Clarke already has shown he can play men's hockey.
2. I'd be okay with losing Mahura. He's a good player, but never stuck it at the NHL level and he's behind Lindholm and Fowler on the depth chart. Not to mention Lacombe coming through, and maybe Owen Power if drafted. Mahura wouldn't be the worst player to lose given our depth at D.
3. He wasn't bad, but he doesn't really do much at this point. Too slow for the modern league. Essentially, I wouldn't prioritise his signing or be too concerned about making space for him. Let the kids play and learn.
4. I hear ya! However, it isn't the lack of off-season signings that bothers me. It is the lack of TDL trades when we are pushing for the cup. Old memories now of course.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mytduxfan</b></div><div>Who do you think ANA exposes? I'm very much a Lindholm, Fowler, Fleury guy. I'm over Manson getting caught flat footed. He's not the worst D-man we have (Shatty) and certainly goes up against some of the tougher competition, but decisions have to be made and, like I said, I'm not even sure Seattle would take him. I wouldn't be against exposing Henrique or SIlf either and, whilst I like the energy Jones brings, he is irreplaceable. I'd give Steel a little more time before giving up on him being an impact player. He has been mismanaged, but he needs to work on his skating and overall intensity.</div></div>
Once again, I'm with you. Fowler, Lindholm and Fleury on the defense side. Jones, Lundestrom, Steel and Terry at forward. Depending upon whom we trade prior to the expansion draft, I'd keep Henrique (we can't afford to lose both of our veteran centers the same year) and Rakell or Silfverberg. Believe it or not (and I know this is idiosyncratic), my seventh protected forward would be either Grant or Volkov.

Debrusk 23g per 82 games .566 ppg
Steel 11g per 82 .364 ppg.

Next Year without Getzlaf
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BuckoJoyde</b></div><div>Zegras is gonna stay a winger unfortunately. I think he has a greater offensive impact at center but the guy lacks the physical capability to be a prominent top 6 center.
Getz is gonna come back another year or 2 without a doubt.
Also I would start consider adding John Gibson to that list of possible trade candidates. Maybe not at the deadline but, eventually he'll be a trade piece. Same for Steel especially if it was for classic GMBM 1 for 1 swap.
Wouldn't be surprised if Cam Fowler is exposed at the expansion over a Mahura. That contract is very tough irregardless how well he plays currently.
Not really looking forward to the draft this year. 1-3 seems to only get muddier. All I know is we need a center, a right handed shot forward and a player who can keep up with the physicality of the NHL.</div></div>
Thanks as always for your usual accurate input.
I'm working on an alternative construction WITH the Captain coming back.

Not when you include Jones and the 36th overall pick, it's not.
If we're going to trade Rakell, I'd rather be getting future assets, not one year of a more offensively productive LW.

Pending Trade -- Ducks Fans What Do You Think
I guess that the thinking on our side would be we have an excess of LWs, we need help at RW, and Virtanen will be cheaper than Heinen. I could live with it, but there's an air of "shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic" reminiscent of the Milano-for-Sprong trade all too noticeable here.
For Christ's sake, we just lost the guy we all thought would be our #2C for a few years and our #1C is due to retire or re-up for a one-year deal. We're going into 2021-2022 with the very real possibility that our #1C will be a rookie. Isn't anybody worried about that?
