I really like Niederreiter but wish he was younger... but he would be good for 20 goals and 100+ hits. Too bad he is a UFA.
I really like Zadorov. Too bad he is a UFA.
I really LOVE Tippet. Would have to give up something of equal value to get him.
Leafs would have to retain as much as possible on Brodie and it still wouldn't fit for Vancouver's cap space. If I was the Leafs and Vancouver I would look at trading Robertson for Joshua. Robertson has MUCH better offensive upside but won't fit in the Leafs top 6 anymore and Joshua is the Leafs drafted player that was given away by Dubas for nothing but can play a 4th line role for the Leafs.
I really like Deslaurier but would pass because of his HUGE salary and with having Reaves now for 3 years. I would go for Comtois instead as MUCH less money.
Instead of Peake I would offer Liljegren for Schenn. :)

I think Timmins is a regular 3rd pair dman<strong> but can play up to 2nd pair minutes if insulted properly. Maybe? </strong>
Relatively cheap deal too with upside he COULD bring, might be wishful thinking though.</div></div>
I was wondering if he got an adrenaline rush from being insulted...kind of like the Hulk but then I was thinking you must have meant "insulated". :D

Can a Matt Murray buy out work this way
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Armer88</b></div><div>only team that can buyout Murray now is the Leafs and only if one of their players file for arbitration.
So say Sammy files for arbitration that would open a 48hr window after they settle for a buyout.
The player must have been on the team at the last season tdl for him to be eligible for the buyout l</div></div>
Edmonton trading Yamamoto to Detroit who promptly bought him out is different somehow? Looking at Winnipeg as an example again... the have 4 players who are artbitration eligible and let's say one of the 4 gets a large settlment... are you saying then that Winnipeg would not be able to buy Murray out? Just trying to wrap my head around it,

I was thinking that your Samsonov salary was oddly specific and then I noticed your capspace... LOL!
I think you might have spelled "Comtois" N.o.s.e.k. by mistake. I won't make the same stupid joke about Middleton and Goliloski but I think I would prefer one over the other on the 3rd pair with Liljegren.

Domi or Maxime Comtois at MUCH less. Which do you prefer?
I was kind of hoping that Nylander was going to Calgary for Dube and Zadorov...

I mean Bennett doesn't give me a complete 'Raffi Torres' vibe but he does give me a 'Kadri'/'Bunting' vibe where he will do something stupid at the worst time to hurt his own team. I might be the only one who feels that but I don't trust him to not cross the line.

I would take Clifton's money and give it to Schenn still. I realize that Schenn is 6 years older but he has a style that has become rare in the NHL currently. I mean, some GM might go nuts with a contract like Buffalo did with Lybushkin and Columbus with Gudbranson but I suspect not.

Our defence struggled against Florida and would have been crushed by Vegas but there is still more money being invested in the forward group.
I think we need to rethink this after 8 years. I not trying to be critical because I am not sure what is possible. We have just been so top heavy for so long and it hasn't worked.

I think I would try to sign 2 of Graves/Soucy/Mayfield for less money instead of running with Karlsson and Giordano due to their age.
Not sure about the fowards signed except Acciari. We'll see.

I was trying to build NYR as a Leaf fan but couldn't figure it out either. League minimum this year is $750,000 so needing 5 NHL players at league minimum would cost $3,750,000 when they have $3,350,417 in Cap Space.

I like Tippet as a middle 6 RW. I like Zadorov as a big LHD.
I believe that any move of the core 4 should get the Leafs younger, especially with the lack of prospects due to the continuous trading of draft picks over the last 7 years. I am hoping for players like Barret Hayton and Jack McBain to be targeted too. They are NO WHERE near the talent of Nylander but would provide a bit of depth.
Not sure how Treliving is going to win any trades...

Is there a way to “like” an ACGM to be able to reference it later?
I see “comments” that I have liked in the past but don’t see how to tag teams. Back when I joined I would just scroll back and find an ACGM I liked. Now that this fantastic site is so popular, if I get a chance to relax and think about some of the teams I’ve seen created a few days earlier, I need to search for many pages back and sometimes I never find them again.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>The_tarasenkshow91</b></div><div>even though brodie couldn't move the puck in the playoffs, we don't have that many other options. i just cant see the leafs giving him up for a near meaningless pick</div></div>

I would be open to Brodie -for- 3rd Pick 2023 (Tor), Dakota Joshua and 4th Pick 2023 (Van). It is freeing up our cap space but we are also losing our best defensive defenseman. If rumours about Treliving interested in trying to get Zadorov then the Leafs need cap space. I suspect that Brodie was injured during the playoffs as he has never been that bad in his whole time here.

I like it.
I think that Samsonov is going to get more than $3 MIL.
I wonder if giving 3 assets for Laughton when we currently can sign Acciari for half the price who plays a tougher game than SL? That would save some cash for the TDL.
I think I would prefer Schenn's game over Mayfield's for the amount extra Mayfield's contract would cost the Leafs. Could save up to another $1.5 MIL here.
Lastly, I am hoping the Leafs take a run for Hathaway for about half of what you signed Fischer for...freeing up a bit more cash for the TDL.

Barbashev is a 37 point player traditionally. Yes he had good run at TDL and the playoffs with Vegas, but six years starting in his late twenties, I doubt if can continue his elevated pace like he did five months last season.</div></div>
I was thinking that as well. I have beeen following Barbeshev since he got drafted here from Moncton Wildcats. Bunting is coming off back to back 23 goal seasons. What's he going to be worth?

Dubas does it again
I was hoping something like:
Dubas favorites -
Jarnkrok $2.1 MIL
Robertson $0.8
Voit $0.8
Brodie $5.0
and then maybe Murray $2.688 ($2 MIL retained)
for
Rackell $5.0
Rutta $2.75

Hagel had the stick glance off the side of his head, Matthews moments before got buried with a Stamkos crosscheck that was uncalled. What got me with Hagel was his "Bunting" meltdown drawing insane attention to the refs. It was VERY unTBay-like. I don't remember the past TBay champion players act like that whether currently with the team or players that are not.
2 other things were his attitude during the 4-1 interview and his looking to call out some of the Leafs shenanigans during the game like a hardened TBay playoff veteran. He has won NOTHING with them but acted like he was part of the dynasty. ....anyway...I am a Leafs fan who BADLY wanted to beat Tampa Bay but I have respect for their key players, coaching and ownership. Hagel just doesn't seem to represent it well.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>Leafs shouldn't be trading the cost efficient Timmins. He's certainly a good enough to be on the Leaf next years. With Giordano and Brodie UFAs in summer of 2024, Timmins might be a real valuable guy to the Leafs at 1.1m.
Yep Murray is the big 4.7m monkey in the room.</div></div>
Hopefully Brodie will come back for a 2 year contract @ $2.5 per year.
Murray has a shocking $8 MIL salary next year in REAL cash. Ottawa has a portion of it but wow...what a back loaded contract!
