<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Timmah007</b></div><div>Bouch I could see start in the taxi squad given sone concerns of early injuries. For veterans like larsson and Russell haven’t played much since March could see pulled groins those types of injuries. If everyone gets started and avoids that early on I could see bouch sent to Bakersfield when their season starts. Benson and Mcloed are in a very similar situation.</div></div>

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Timmah007</b></div><div>Holland won’t want a young guy like bouch sit for extended period of time so starts with taxi squad for a month if the team avoids injury bug he gets sent down when ahl fires it’s season up. Timing of ahl season if it actually happens as planned is really handy in this case provides time for bouch to either steal a job or provide a safety net in the event of injuries before any decision needs to be made. Benson contract wise makes sense to keep with taxi squad he’s coming off his elc and needs to be in the mix before waivers become an issue with him. Mcloed is the biggest wildcard in my opinion.</div></div>

Bouchard is 4RD so he'll start on the taxi squad -- especially since he's waiver exempt. He's going to play a substantial number of games, either due to injuries/slumps or on merit by forcing the issue.

McLeod has virtually no shot at a roster spot. He's best served playing all year in Europe, or the AHL if/when they get up to speed. RMc won't begin to enter the conversation until next season, at the earliest.

Kovy wouldn't sign here for a million, and truth be told I don't think I'd take the risk. He's not the fleetest of foot and the aging-performance curve is real.

Also agree with the other commenter that Jones is primed for more minutes, especially so with the likely absence of Klefbom. Fantenburg is redundant, not to mention Lagesson waiting in the wings for 6/7 duty.

I'd avoid Sheahan at all costs. Word is he's pushing for a hefty raise, which -- PK prowess or not -- is not warranted when you consider the gaping chasm that he represents on the 5v5 GF-GA. He was the single biggest problem on the team last year, besides needing an actual bonafide 3C (which is now covered by Turris). Considering EDM went from historically bad on the PK in 18-19 to second in the league in 19-20 with largely the same player personnel and a new coaching staff, my money is on the suits to be able to get the roster to perform well with or without Sheahan. We can do better for a million AAV or less. See, Haas, Gaetan... for example.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JmoneyTalk</b></div><div>Sam never wants to come back to Edmonton. Jones is ready to play more minutes this year, probably more then Russel. Kolvy would be sweet but is the Oilers can get someone younger that has produced similiar they would. Chassion gets flips for a LW. Khaira will get hurried in the AHL. Sheahan would be sick as the 4th line center. Retain him just for his pk abilities.</div></div>

Sam "guy who married his doctor wife from Edmonton" Gagner never wants to come back to Edmonton?

LOL

The actual point to make would surround the fact that while he's a character guy and had a good run here, the game has passed him by. He's done an there's no role here that can't be filled by someone already on the roster or available for no assets and at a lower cap hit.
