Improving after moving Staal

Description
CBJ gets some picks for downgrading at LHD, which hardly matters behind Gavrikov, Murray, Nutivaara etc. Edm gets help on the right side, while NYR gets it on the left - while also trading an offensive defenseman for a more two-way one; something that could benefit both teams.

Hank's salary and Shattenkirk's big hit are off the books next year, which allows you to sign Shesterkin, Buch and Chytil to new deals. When Kakko, Zib and Fox all requires new contracts in another year, the Strome extension will probably hurt - unless they can move him or the salary cap has increased.

Oilers have Bouchard coming in for an offensive RD I can’t see them moving a workhorse like klef.

I'm confused on why the Rangers would do that, but sure. DeAngelo is younger, and had a higher xSPAR than Klefbom (96th percentile to 49th percentile). Just as good on powerplay and better at even strength offense. The only issue is his defense, but his offense makes up for it.

I don't think Deangelo is bad (at hockey), but I do think the Rangers need a LHD to eat minutes. Trouba isn't getting moved - although he's the one that should be, and Fox is their best D by far. ADA would improve the oilers PP and even strength offense, while Klefbom is the more suitable and defensive stable partner for Fox, which allows him to play his best game.

Klefbom's on an incredible value contract with term, and he's the most complete defenseman on the team who's relied on in all situations. ADA won't add much to one of the best PP in the league (29.5% this last season, just shy of the best in history by a dynasty NYI team) that Klef didn't.

What? Stating that something is good doesn't mean that you can't improve it. That's completely nonsensical. I'm sure NYR can find another trade partner for a young RHD with very high scoring upside, but I'd be surprised if Edm passed on it.

ADA and Klef are similar on xPPO, but ADA >>> at even strength offense and xSPAR

For this year or a longer period? I'm pretty sure Klef historically is an above average 5on5 skater but not *that* dominant on the PP? Which model is this anyways, Evolving Hockey?

Just this year. Klef wasn't that great on PP previous years, but has similar PP stats to DeAngelo this year
