Sujet: The Plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BlackhawksReboot</b></div><div>Thanks for your thoughts.

Who do you see as a RD to target? I settled on Shatty more for his smarts and his mentoring than his defensive play. Although this is an improved lineup, I still don't see next year as a season to push for the playoffs.

How would you approach the Forward situation? I wanted some more skill for the top 6. Alternatively, I could have signed just one of DeBrusk/Arvidsson and re-signed Joey, who I like. It just seemed like too many bottom 6 types again.

I do like the little thing Bedard and Kurashev have going, but ultimately I don't think Kurashev will be on the top line when the team is good again. I could be wrong. I'm sure the line blender will be running no matter how they start out the year.</div></div>

For the 3rd pair RD, I'd probably target Troy Stecher or Colin Miller before Shatty. I'm probably forgetting one or two as well. Shatty's defensive play is just too inconsistent for me to pair w/ any of the Hawks young LD who will likely play on 3rd pair next season.

I think adding a top 6 winger is fine. Hawks probably do that. But two? I don't see it. If they add a 2nd top 6 forward, it needs to be a guy who can play 2C way better than Anthanasou. Like a Monahan, Henrique type player. As for Joey, just really like what he has going w/ Dickinson since Luke put them together.

I agree w/ you on Kurashev. He's not a long term top 6 guy. I don't see him as a long term piece at all. But in the short term for next season, he stays on RW w/ Bedard as long as they have that chemistry. If the magic goes away, so be it. But you don't split them up until it does.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ReadyToGetFlamed</b></div><div>Bro is just wanting to be upset, you could easily flip Harris. You could get a decent bit for him as he is a young defenceman who played well last year. I’m sure there’s someone that would take Dvorak for a pick, because he’s a third line guy on a decent team. That just leaves taking 3.4 million for a second. Normally that’s a little bit low but you’re getting assets for the other two guys.

If you were a GM, trying to disvalue the opponents assets it would make sense but because you’re a fan it makes no sense for you to bull**** the value of them down on purpose. Like the Harris thing is complete and utter garbage coming out of your mouth</div></div>

haha. Sounds like you are the one who is upset. I'm perfectly fine telling you why I don't want your teams garbage, doesn't bother me at all. It'll cost way more than that to dump that much cap/salary, plain and simple. If there is some other team that values Harris more and/or is willing to pay for Dvorak, then go for it, but that team isn't CHI. I'm not "bull****ting their value on purpose". Dvorak and Armia are cap dumps if for no other reason than being overpaid, not to mention we don't have room for them on the roster. Also, I am only being matter of fact when I say that Harris is not the least bit desirable to CHI, who already have PLENTY of LHD as it is. CHI has also made it pretty clear that they value size on D. CHI isn't interested in "flipping" other teams players. Why don't you trade Harris for picks and then use those to pay for cap dumps... Cuz CHI isn't gonna do your work for you.
