Barbi to Tampa
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>Finley is slower than Brown, dude.</div></div>
Don't really know too much about him. Just know everything i've seen lately arounda Barbi to Tampa trade has Finley coming our way along with a pick.
Adding Foote replaces a 2nd or 3rd round pick and has some potential as well. Tampa just doesn't have a deep prospect pool (that they would be willing to part with) and limited on draft capital so Tampa may be tough to work with

Barbi to Dallas for 2 D Prospects
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>I get the brother thing, but younger Kyrou is not quite so good. But if we can get Harley for Barby, that's certainly fine with me.</div></div>
From what I've seen, Christian is raw but has potential and seems to have a similar skating ability as Jordan. It's worth a flier on for sure. Would love to get Harley though.
Think realistically for both, Blues would have to add a late round pick as both of these guys are 1st and 2nd round picks. If the asking price for Barbi is a 1st (would probably be a 2nd), I think Barbi and a later pick (4th at the earliest) could make it happen. Add some more prospects, never a bad thing. Plus with Dallas in the division and multiple bidders or Barbi, could expect an overpay slightly... hopefully

Blues won't be trading Schenn. He's going to be the next man with a C on his sweater... by that logic the Blues will trade him in 4 years

Kyrou Bros in STL
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheMooterus</b></div><div>The Stars certainly don't accept this. O'Reilly is dealing with an injury that will keep him out for the next couple of weeks and it's the kind of injury that very well could impact his overall play when he's "healthy". Also worth noting that the Stars don't need a center. That's probably the position they are deepest at currently. Of the players in their top-6 (Robertson, Hintz, Pavelski, Benn, Johnston, Dellandrea), the only one that doesn't play center is Robertson. This is before factoring in guys like Seguin, Faksa, and Glendening as well. Simply no need for O'Reilly right now. Can't see Dallas trading some high end assets for a player on an expiring deal that they don't need.
Also worth noting that an argument could be made that Kyrou is the 2nd best D prospect in the Stars system behind Bichsel. He and Harley are both very good defensive prospects for Dallas and Kyrou is in a premium position at RD. Harley is more expendable in a trade than Kyrou, but you're not getting Harley, Kyrou, and a 2nd for O'Reilly right now</div></div>
ROR is already back with goals in back to back games and has looked very strong out there. And all those players you named have capabilities to play wings as well. ROR should slide in as a great 2C and will certainly help on important faceoffs and on special teams. It's a good trade for Dallas who is having a great season and should be in a win-now mode with how open the west is and an aging group of guys (still new young core coming in).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mokumboi</b></div><div>The Athletic writers don't watch the Blues play, they just look at analytics. Other than JR, they don't know crap. This offer they propose was out of the running weeks ago. It has been lapped already.
But you can forget those two packages, NJ and PITT aren't doing that. Find the middle ground, man. Somewhere between standard Blues fan gloominess and pie in the sky.</div></div>
I think whoever gets Barbi is going to slightly overpay.
Everything I'm seeing is a 1st (maybe C/D tier prospect) OR 2nd plus B-tier prospect. Would love to hear the talks Army is having though with these teams. Really hoping we get more than expected, especially after the Vladi trade (was fine for what it was, wish it was a little more though, but can't complain due to the situation)

As a Blues fan, I was expecting the stars to not accept this. Which is why it's a second and not a first. Would prefer the first but think that could cause a no-deal (would be next years 1st)
Really like Harley and the idea of bringing in Kyrou (older brother potentially mentor a bit and has upside)
Jchockey12, only retained salary on Acciari to make cap a little closer. Could end up sending ROR to Arizona (with a 4/5th) to retain some salary so the blues can use that third salary retention for Barbi if needed

Would be nice to get Holtz and a 2nd from NJ or Pickering and a pick from PIT

I agree on the overpay aspect. Just trying to find teams that need that 2C and Colorado is the perfect ideology of that (seems like that's always the case).

Heard they could be shopping Bowers (can't remember where I heard it). Know he may not hold much value, but with ROR poorer season, it would either be a first OR top prospect. Not quite both. Think Bowers plus a 1st could get the deal done. Maybe even another draft pick in the deal.
Anyone else you would want instead? Thought about Girard but don't see that happening unless a Blues d-man in the top 4 either goes the other way or to a different team all together

Just saw the post from Weekes about it's possible to get a 1st or 2nd AND prospect for Barbi. So they could get even more than this somehow
JP is more of a change of scenery piece it seems at this point. Would say negative value but he's a RFA at the end of the year that could sign a cheap "prove-it" contract with his new team. May not be a bad idea to at least take a shot on a player like this

Right there with you. Don't see it happening (thinking Chychrun to LA) but would be okay to lose Scotty P for Chychrun. Bolduc would hurt for sure. Could help shore up the defense if they can trade away Krug (this makes it easier since Chychrun can run PP1)

Not even that, just gives a solid center option to allow someone like Stephenson to play on the wing (not sure if he's natural C or LW, CapFriendly has him as both). Allow them to spread out the lines a bit more and add someone with a cup to go on a deep run again.
Just saw this as a possible option and thought it was interesting

Leafs get Depth for playoffs
Figured it would be too much. Still think it's a decent base. Blues could add a few later picks or younger guys from the AHL roster that could be intriguing for TOR
Kerfoot is good as gone, Barbi and Acciari could be resigned for fairly cheap. They'll have to play a lot of games to figure out their cap situation.
Barbi should be able to replace Kerfoot, Acciari comes in for extra depth piece and a cheap resign possibility
Blues searching for that 1st could be a stretch. If it is pushed to a second or third, this could make it more likely.
I'm just a Blues fan hoping and dreaming for some overpays for some rentals by a team desperate to win a playoff round for a change

I added Blais since I was a fan of his play here in STL. Will bring the grit back if we lose Barbi
Are you saying ROR, Barbi and a third to TOR? Or if it were ROR, Acciari to add a 3rd as well? thinking if Barbi is added, send him to ARI with a 5th to retain salary, then sent to TOR and it shouldn't cost another pick. At the very least maybe a 4th or later

Blues Leafs Rangers Trade Triangle
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wozniwack</b></div><div>I think one of their big guys is going to have to be traded. Kind of tough when you have Tavares, Marner, Nylander, Matthews, Rielly, Brodie and Muzzin carrying over 55% of your total cap. Someone needs to go or else it'll be league minimum players in their bottom 6 forwards and bottom pair defensemen.
Nylander honestly should be a casualty of this cap situation, but not necessarily in this trade. Can trade him in the offseason to get some cheap pieces to fill in the bottom roles.
Make this trade for Barbi and ROR, possibly sign them both for semi-cheap. Still have room to sign some of their other FAs on cheap contracts if possible.
Also think trading Murray isn't out of the question if they keep Samsonov to give Woll a shot as a backup or sign a league minimum vet to fill that role.
Still think this trade makes sense for Toronto since they should be in win now mode this year with all the cap issues in the near future.</div></div>
Extra thoughts on this, trade Nylander while his value is high and at the end of his contract. They know they probably won't be able to resign him after another good year, and could trade him to get cheaper and young pieces to fill voids. Get rid of one d-man possibly as well to free up even more space. JT, AM, and MM are virtually untouchable. Reilly as well.
Anyone else with a cap over 2mil should be on the block during the offseason just to try to get out of this cap space situation

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Goggs</b></div><div>Tavares has a full no move and will not be traded. He would never waive it. Nylander could be traded, only if Dubas and Co are let go. But trading Nylander for these guys is a net loss. The leafs need to make room for a 3-4m a year raise if they want to resign bunting. Holl is due to double his salary to around 4m per year or they lose him and have to find a replacement 20min a night D man for only 2m dollar (that doesnt exist) and they need to resign Samsonov who will likely get 3-5m per which is a raise of 2m at least. Holmberg needs a raise and so does Kampf, Who the leafs cannot afford and will lose to FA. At which point they will need a new third line C for only 1.5m (also doesn't exist). Just to keep the team they currently have, They need to find about 8-9M in cap space. Assuming the Leafs make no trade, as things stand now, they would have to let Kampf and Holl walk, replace Holl with Timmins, replace Kampf with Holmberg at 3C (at about a 1m a year raise), sign a new 4th line C at league min. Let Kerfoot AND Envall walk. Replace both of them with league min players. And then they would have just enough money to resign Bunting and Samsonov.</div></div>

As a Blues fan, feels like this is quite the haul for three players that are unlikely to resign but will give two teams pieces they need for a deep run, all with experience.

Blues: sell off two good rental pieces to two teams going all in this season and get young d-men in return
Canes: get a scoring winger to add to an already deep team, Tank should waive his NTC to play with Teuvo (good friend)
Leafs: get a gritty middle line forward to potentially sign longer termed after the season
Also side note, does the NHL have anything that calculates out NHL trade values? MLB has one (https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trade-simulator/)
