Do you think garland is some high value asset? Its a top six winger who is 25, with term, and a top four d with 5 years of term who is also 25. Rentals don’t get that. Garland certainly doesn’t get that.
Calling Erik haula a cap dump is also flat out ridiculous. Since the time he got slotted as the 2C in boston, he had 32 even strength points in 48 games. Would have been good for second on the canucks over that period. 2 mill and change is a cap dump for that kind of production? Weird. We must follow different leagues.
Wagner stinks though. One of your six assertions was correct at least.

Well if we’re going to get into the weeds on that one…the devils would jsut have the same opportunity as 32 teams to sign him. I think its a pretty safe assumption that if pastrnak isn’t traded this summer, he’s in boston long term.

That'd be a great return but can't see them getting that much for Scheifele.

You might not like them, but NHL players seem to. Reasonable taxes. Great culture. One of the better cities in North America. Original six. Easy. Theres a reason so many guys take discounts in boston.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letter_Kenny</b></div><div>Every-body Sheng Peng tonight.
Bruins will be outbid easily with that offer.</div></div>
Would it though? The OP specified that this is if Debrusk keeps up his pace. Right now, even after that really bad start he’s on a 20 goal pace. If he plays the way he has in 2022 that number is likely more like 25 come deadline time. Rentals don’t get that kind of roster player, a 1st, and two a solid prospect very often.
I don’t know what it is, but it seems like this board has just forgotten what rentals go for.

No not allowed, it would be too good a fit ;). But fr though he would be scary good on this team. They'd need to find a way to extend him, then it would extend their competitive window (not like bostons ever ends)

I don't hate this offer if it were the only one to come through, but if that's the floor for the trade I see a team with a more robust prospect pool outbidding the Bruins

Wagner is not really a dump and at 200k buried there is no reason to pay to move him.
Something like Moore/Wagner/Seny/Cehlarik for Nash would make sense.

It will be 1 year at 2.75 mill that will not cost more then a 3rd at most to get rid of his contract be realistic now

studnicka, steen and zboril i expect all to be full time next season. maybe possibly see some games out of lysell, lohrei, lauko, vaak and lyle depending on how much more they develop in the offseason.
with that being said contracts like lazars, haula, reilly or cliftons will be moveable since replacements will be ready to come up.
if bruins have the cap i don't see why they shouldn't maybe offer more to forsberg or even hertl if they both test free agency ideally bruins need to target one of them hard if they hit UFA

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KennyBoi</b></div><div>Not true, nmc protects the player from trades and waivers. The player must give consent before being moved.</div></div>
A NMC does protect a player from being traded UNLESS there’s a M-NTC added to it. At that point, it more or less becomes protection from waivers and expansion drafts.

Eh, whatever. Pretty clearly he’s a top five NHL d man, so ya. He’s in that group. Once you’re at that point it boils down two what you value more (offense, defense, two-way etc). One thing I will say is don’t you dare put him in the same category as hamilton, who is so far behind mcavoy he can’t even see him. Hamilton was the canes third best d man for f sakes. He’s worth every penny of 11. Bruins best player by a country mile.

My guess is he goes to the west for 5 years. If he continues to excel and wants to come to Boston to ride out the rest of his career, the circumstances would have to align perfectly. Boston would have to have enough cap as well as still need a top 6 center. Or if he declines, he comes at a lower cost and reduced role. But all in all, this is way too much for him now.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>gretzkyghosts</b></div><div>With Jack playing in front of McAvoy and Rask and Bergeron as the other top center we all do not think that Boston will be significantly better than last year?
For the next 2 or even 3 years all of those first round picks will be either just before Buffalo's second round pick or no more than 4 picks earlier as Boston will give Tampa a real challenge.
So the the three first round picks are nearly 2nds, but to avoid an argument, I will call them firsts.
The same for the 2nds will all be very late but we will call them 2nds.
DeBrusk from 2 years past looked really good, how about last year, With 5 goals and $3,500,000 salary does that put him into the cap dump catagory?
Vaakanainen a LHD drafted in 2017 (four year ago) has played 16 NHL games, does that put him into the bust catagory
Studnicka a good prospect, the <strong>jewel</strong> of the trade.
Wagner please forgive me Chris, but what does he add to the trade.
Take out DeBrusk, Vaakanainen and Wagner from the trade.
Imagine Studnicka, 3 26th OA draft picks and 3 58th OA draft picks, does that sound like too much for Jack Eichel?</div></div>
You forgot Lysell. And yes it does sound like to much. Even before considering his questionable health. There have been 3 maybe 4 players in the history of hockey that I would pay that kind of package for. A guy that’s iffy to be top 5 at his position and uncertain what his future holds while counting 10m against the cap isn’t one of them.

That is too much. There's a reason he hasn't been traded yet. He isn't worth what Buffalo is asking. Young NHL roster player, A+ prospect, 1st rounder, another 1st or a B prospect.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CMcAvoy73</b></div><div>Settle down champ. I’m not trolling, i have a different opinion from you, and that’s okay. Don’t you think perhaps a smidge of bias is slipping into what you’re saying. Notice, I’m not saying declarative things like you are with the, “he will be a top 5 d man in the league….rararara.” I don’t see it. I think he’s really bad defensively and I don’t think it’s the kind of thing that he’ll learn as he rounds out as a player. I personally don’t think he has the capability or skills to be anything but a powerplay specialist. He might get to the point where he’s okay defensively, at which point he’s a top four guy that excels on the PP. I could see that. I just view him as such a liability 5 on 5 that I don’t think he’ll ever get to a point where he’s an elite d man in this league. I hate to put a ceiling on a young player like that, but I kind of think if things go well he’ll be a Tyson Barrie type.</div></div>
To claim a player will never be good defensively based on a bad sophomore year is just completely invalid. Anyone can get good at defence it’s not like there’s a special force preventing him from becoming good defensive. The Canucks have hired an assistant coach to help Hughes defensively and it’s the same one that has shaped many very good defencemeb…

FYI I’m going to continue posting when I feel like it. If others having an opinion that is different from your own is such a horrible thing for you, you can always put me on your ignore list.
But seriously, why are you bringing up points in a conversation about defensive play?</div></div>
I’m not the kind of person to hold grudges on people. I respect everyone has their own opinion but some peoples opinion are just not right. You have the right to feel Quinn Hughes is not good defence man but to say he is bad offensively and call him a third pairing guy is just straight up wrong. I agree Quinn is not that good defensively right now but to call him a terrible player because of that is just invalid. You’re right points don’t have anything to do with defense but you’re also arguing about points here so that’s why I bring it up again
