It fits EDM's need of a top 4 puck mover that can quarter back a PP. Vatanen is on a good contract too. I know ANA made the Maroon trade and it hasn't worked out so maybe ANA is gun shy to deal with EDM again.

Another possible move I've thought about is RNH to CAR for Faulk. However, CAR has such a young blueline I don't know if they really wanna move Faulk.

You're out to lunch, you are basing that on his surge in numbers right now. Over a whole body of work plus his contract, there is no way you get that haul. Oilers will be closer to the Eberle trade than what you've suggested.
