I would rather Gallagher than Shaw and realistically given Shaw's history with homophobic remarks, I can't see him being a Flame as long as Burke is in the front office

In reality, its a pretty good deal, but I don't think the Flames are going to give up on Sam Bennett yet. I'm thinking they'll see where he is at the end of his bridge deal, which is still at a good cap number. At worst right now, Bennett is a half-decent 3rd liner that can bring physicality and keep up with offensive-minded players. at best though, he's a 1-2 line two-way C. He was thought to be the number one ranked player in his draft so he still has that ceiling if he can put it all together.
