Not a very good return for RNH - I'm sure they could do better than that.

Possibly. Wasn't tryng hard with the trade just as to see where we'd be at with the cap when RNH is gone

I feel like I'd rather have Nuge instead of Strome.

I think Nurse and Benning will need one more season before they are ready to be top 4. But I think Sekera and Russel will be traded in 2 years. That would be my reasoning in signing them to a lower bridge deal and then maybe signing a long term deal similar to Larsson and Kelfbom

That's an idea as well and not a bad one. I do like the term and money in the ekholm contract tho

Right, that makes sense. Good roster, although I agree with camshaft that I'd rather have Nuge than Strome, even with the AAV difference. The coming season might change my mind on that, but that's how I feel today. Maybe Montreal would take Strome for Scherbak + a 1st? Of course, then you'd have to find another $2.5M to pay RNH... I suppose bridging Benning and Nurse might be the solution, but then you run the risk of having to pay them $5M+ if they kill it on their bridge deal. I really like your Benning contract, and the Nurse contract could end up being a great value deal too.

Yes, it's a great contract. Is Ekholm a reasonable comp for Nurse? Of course, Ekholm's 6 x $3.75M deal is his third, we're looking at a second deal for Nurse - either bridge or long-term.

Agreed this season should be interesting. Of course we want everyone to play well and have career years but if they do there will be some picking and choosing who gets signed and who gets trade. Realistically the cap goes up 1.5-2 million with league revenue also if Vegas can sell seats or not

I read somewhere that Vegas is selling tickets like hotcakes - among the best in the league. It's their other revenue that will take time to ramp up - corporate, apparel, etc.

Doubting if Nurse or Bending would sign for so long for so little, if they really at that good. Look at Russell's contract. With the higher Canadian dollar, it appears the cap should be at 79m,maybe more.

Montreal wouldn't accept the top deal, we don't want garbage nugent hopkins' contract of 6 million. If you add a first from edmonton and take away montreals first and put a third if would be fair. Horrible player with a horrible contract.

And for the fact that you think you're losing on that trade I think you should delete your capfriendly account. Ryan strome wouldn't get you scherbak and a third, honestly strome is worth more than rnh. In your mind he isn't. Montreal doesn't want any of your garbage.

I'm guessing Benning and Nurse could it it but are not likely to out perform Klef or Larsson. So say the year after they are both worst case 4.1666
