Absolutely no need for Nielsen or Gaudreau if you trade for Coyle. Also, I'd rather keep Chucky & give Mete/Jerabek a chance over Muzzin. MB likes to make trades during the year and at the TDD so I'd go and get a C like Coyle now due to Minny's cap issues and upgrade the D during the season - rental or not.

I agree that Mete or Jerabek should get a shot. but not on the 1st pairing with Weber. no way any of these young guys make it day in day out always having to shut down opposing teams best players. Get Muzzin who played with Weber during the Olympics, and put Mete or Jerabek on the 3rd pairing with Benn, Defense would look solid then.

As for Coyle, he isn't playing center in Minny. although he is a natural center, he hasn't played the position in a while. that's why I acquired Neilsen so as to not put all my eggs into the one (Coyle) basket. as for Gaudreau it's just a depth move getting a younger center for the bottom 6, unlike Scherbak who needs a shot a top 6 six and he's never going to get in MTL

Nope not dealing Nielsen he loves playing in Detroit and the new Arena, Maybe in 3-4 years but not right now.

your point being? He is still a rookie who has never played NHL lvl and on NHL ice which is smaller than KHL ice. I'm all for giving him a shot, but not on the first pairing.
